I went to this salon to get my hair lightened the stylist said it would take a couple of sessions…read moreto reach the level of lightening I want which was fine. However, I did not think I would only be paying for half my hair at a time. The stylist started bleaching from the top of my hair which was already blonde from previous highlights needless to say my hair is a tragic loss! When I returned to the salon with my legitimate complaint the manager said "oh it's not that bad I can fix it for another $160" mind you I just spent $247 to start this process. Do not go to this salon EVER! I am filling a small claim case to get my money back.

Okay. There are a lot of reviews for this place and I am frustrated because I've had nothing but…read morepositive experiences here. Every person is different, but Tasha and Amanda are both incredibly communicative, and take their time with your hair. They explained to me what hair products to use, what would happen when I dyed my hair, and what to expect before and during the appointment. They were very attentive and kind, and are the kind of stylists that can talk to you and hold a conversation but also will not force you to talk if you don't want to. You can just listen in to what they say to each other. It's kind of like ASMR, haha. Also, when they wash your hair, it feels quite heavenly. No place is perfect, but they have done right by me. And I want to make sure that people know that this place is a good spot to get your hair done. Just be prepared with what you want, how you want it, and make sure that you are fully aware of their policies before getting an appointment.

I am still blown away by how lucky I was to have found this salon. My husband and I have just…read moremoved to Greenville and, before the move one of the things I was stressing about the most was finding a good salon. After doing research, I was able to get an appointment for the day that I arrived into town and I am still pinching myself at how wonderful the experience was. I was welcomed by Kate (the owner) and Kay (my stylist) as if I were family and I loved the bright yet cozy atmosphere. Kay worked magic on my hair with 2 base formulas - one on top and one in the back. She added creamy balayage highlights strategically placed throughout and finished it off with a cut, shampoo, blowdry and style! I have to share that the blowout lasted a week! A few weeks later it was time for my husband's cut so we made an appointment with BreAnna who apparently specializes in male scissor cutting. His hair has seriously never looked better and he was equally happy with the friendly atmosphere and environment and has already booked his next appointment. If you are looking for a salon - or are unhappy with your current salon - look no more. Beyond happy! Kimberly

I had a highly unprofessional experience at Kate Kandel Salon that lacked basic pricing…read moretransparency and proper client consultation. During my consultation, I explicitly showed my stylist, Ansley, a video of the exact hair color goal I wanted. Not only did she completely miss the mark, but she was visibly unsure of how to do her job, requiring active guidance and formulation help from another hairdresser during my appointment. The biggest issue came at checkout. Ansley verbally told me she was charging me for "two toners" to keep the price down. However, when I looked at my receipt, I discovered completely hidden, undisclosed fees. I was charged a massive $95 base fee for a "Gloss Only" and an additional $45 for a "Gloss/Toner"--totaling $140 just for gloss products that were never verbally quoted or agreed upon beforehand. When I reached out to address the poor results and the confusing billing, the stylist was dismissive and claimed I never showed her the video. When escalated to the manager, BreAnna West, I was met with total gaslighting. She altered the timeline of events to protect her stylist, refused to address the deceptive billing structure, and explicitly banned me from the salon instead of offering a fair partial refund for the unapproved charges.Be very careful coming here. They use confusing à la carte pricing structures at checkout without upfront disclosure, and management will aggressively defend billing manipulation rather than practicing honest customer service. I have already filed a formal dispute with my credit card company for unauthorized charges.
