Updated Review: Reply to Owner Hi Norma, Thank you for replying. Let's start with what we do agree on. We both agree that my daughter's new look was charming. Yes! It was cute the first time, even lacking the highlights. I also agree that we had a conversation on the phone, and you understood I wanted to save money, so you were kind and helpful in assisting me with choosing services. I do want to say that I am sorry if my communication implied you had a low-end salon. That was not my goal or heart at all. You have a beautiful salon for which I can tell you have worked very hard. In regards to expectations for the end result- On the phone you described the Face Frame Highlights to be the front money-pieces with some blending on the side so there weren't chunks of blonde in the front only. Then at the salon, I presented the picture (attached) to your stylist, and the only correction she made was to say there wouldn't be any highlights toward the back. Therefore, based on my interaction with both of you, my expectation was fair to have received more than what we did the first time (pic attached with smiley face covering my daughter's face). It would have been different if your stylist would have clarified, "That is a balayage look. I can do that, but that look costs more. The service you are paying for will only look like this ___." It was your stylist's job to correct expectations when I had shown them to her in picture form. Either way, if what my daughter got was truly your Face Framing Highlights, I have a hard time understanding how anyone would pay $115 to only see a speck of highlights at the front and be happy with it. We pay for these things to see them. Before I called your salon back to discuss, I told the story and presented the pics to my stylist and asked her to be honest with me. She said she understood both sides, but she did think I had the right to ask about it being fixed. In all my years of having my hair done, I have never once gone back to have hair corrected. I don't like confrontation, and I like to give the stylist the benefit of the doubt, and I also try to put myself in her shoes. I also don't want to become the "problematic" client that they don't enjoy. Additionally, I have always had every stylist happily tell me, "If you don't like it in a few days, come back and we will get it right!" I'm not sure how else I could have had the conversation with more grace and kindness. I even complimented your stylist on her kindness and expressed that she was wonderful. The only issue was a misunderstanding. The way you have made me feel as a client simply wanting to discuss a confusion, is hurtful. These hard and awkward conversations are part of being a business owner and part of being an adult. Lastly, you replied to reviewer "Jeff W." below that you "absolutely would have loved the opportunity to make it right." Brandi is by far one of the best hair stylists I have ever had! She completely transformed my look with hair extensions, and I am so happy with the way it turned out. She took the time to ensure that my color matched perfectly to the extensions and it blends so seamlessly that people don't even realize I have extensions. I have gotten so many complements. She was thorough and patient in the installation, and made sure she got it just the way I wanted it. I also want to give a shout out to another hair stylist at Ella Rain - Elysia, who helped Brandi with adding some additional extensions in a few spots where I needed them, and was there to give lots of expert advice. All of the ladies there are phenomenal! They make me feel comfortable and I always feel like it's a special treat to go to their salon. Also - they give amazing head massages with your shampooing :). I love this salon. I get compliments on my hair all the time. I've even had people ask to take pictures of my hair to bring back to their hairdressers. That always feels good :) I love their makeup, too. My skin is so sensitive but I haven't had any problems with the products I've tried. I look forward to trying more of them.
