I made an appt for mani pedi via internet. I requested no one in particular. I arrived on time but had to wait 25 minutes. The owner did my manicure. She was not friendly. She was preoccupied with keeping an eye on everything else. it was a very hurried manicure. the pedicure was fine. The time before the same woman did my & my friend's manicure with gel polish. she neglected to put a final clear coat on her nails. Again, the manicures were very hurried. i have been to this salon many times & had good experiences. I will think twice about returning. read more

I have gone to 5 Forks twice now bc I believe in giving people a second chance. This salon is not clean. They do not clean and sanitize their stations in between clients. They do not wash the clients hands or have the clients wash their hands after the manicure and before nail painting or applying lotion. You are basically left with nail "dust" all over your hands and sent on your way. A full gel manicure should take longer than 25 minutes. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I originally had my nails done on Thursday. The nail lady drilled to hard in one spot and cracked my natural nail and continued to do my nails. By day three two of my nails were ripped off by simply doing everyday things. One of those nails was the one the lady cracked. The nail ripped all the way down to my natural nail at the quick and caused bleeding and pain. I went back to have them removed and they were upset because I didn't want to redo them. They then soaked my already sensitive nails in acetone and LAUGHED while I was in pain and almost crying. They continued to tell me that I was too harsh on my nails and that it was my fault I was in this situation. read more

I have been reluctantly returning to this place due to convenience. I always make appointments - do not just walk in bc I know that puts a lot more pressure on them. The person in charge always sits at the front table to left when you enter the building. when I get a pedicure I ask to have my callused feet soak a few minutes before service. This seems to infuriate the person in charge. She then 'punishes' by making me wait an unreasonable period of time for service. Today after almost 50 minutes, and several other people who arrived after me receiving service, and having asked twice about the time, I finally just left. The technicians will miss my generous tips and the company, my being courteous enough to make appointments. I will never return there. read more

I just have to comment on McKenzie's post. I was sitting next to her, and what she wrote was not what happened. Everyone there felt bad that she was in pain, and no one laughed at her. Made an appointment a week in advance to only come in on the day of the appointment for 3 pedicures and waited over a hour and half for the pedicure to even start and watched other people (walk-ins) get completed before us. My MIL sat waiting for a chair after saying she didn't mind sitting else where and they told her "no you are next, just a few mins." Well 30 minutes later she was seated after my sis and I had already been waiting a hour. All this to say- appointments are pointless and are not honored here. I went here yesterday because someone recommended it to me but i wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. It is a beautiful, bright organized salon but when i was there there was only one worker who was nice to me. The guy who did my nails barely talked to me at all and when he did it was him rudely telling me to keep my hand somewhere, giving me a dirty look, getting frustrated with me and clearly irritated if i moved my hand slightly because i thought he'd reach for it. the other workers seemed to be rushing people and didn't seem to listen them much (other than the nicer lady i encountered.) Besides the negative energy from the workers he also ended up cutting my skin and making me bleed while filing my nails, bent my nails to paint them to where it made my skin feel like it was going to rip off, and in the end i was charged 60$ for fake nails. I have a standing appointment every 2 weeks on Friday morning which is surprisingly busy at 9am! Mary and her staff are wonderful. I get the most amazing pedicures. I never feel rushed and they go above and beyond to make the experience comfortable. Their pricing is fairly inexpensive for the high quality you receive. I've always felt comfortable with the sanitation procedures as all tools are new and the pedicure bowls are covered with a plastic which is removed and thrown out after each guest. I think all it's missing is a nice mimosa ;) read more

This nail salon is in a great location in Five Forks, a great selection of colors, and great nail technicians. Most employees are happy to see you. Now I need to say that Mary is one of the rudest business owners you'll ever come across. EVER! She could care less if you walked through that door or not. She sits at her front station and barely acknowledges that you've walked in. You'll get a warmer greeting from the nail techs and custodian before you will from Mary. It's too bad that she runs this place when customer service is an important part of the service industry. I came in to get my nails done and got this dude, he acted he knew what he was doing and had asked me what I had wanted. I told him and showed him a picture of white FRENCH TIPS with a sliver line on the bottom of white outlining the french tip. He then preceded to make my nails coffin and when I said I wanted SQUARE french tips. These are not french tips nor are these what I wanted at all. He made the sliver line not outline but hover underneath the white "french tips". These nails are $70 and should be $10 the way they look. All the sliver lines are different sizes, the NAILS are all different sizes, the white so called "french tip" is square instead all messed up, the white AND sliver polish is c-through and he also got nail polish oh my hands and didn't do anything about it. DO NOT COME HERE. UNPROFESSIONAL & HORRIBLE! If I can give them no stars I would. Probably the worst service I ever got. Before I start, just know I'm Vietnamese, I work in a couple nail salons in Atlanta. I could have and SHOULD HAVE waited till I came home to get it done right, however my acrylic nails were lifting, one actually broke off weird so I decided to swing by the the closest salon I could find. I stumble across Five Fork, I try to book an appointment but received no answer, so I decided to pop in. I came in around 5pm for an acrylic take off. I was greeted and was told to wash my hands before they started soaking my acrylic. I was left there with my hands in a bowl of acetone for about 20 mins, no one drilled my nails before soaking it, so literally nothing was happening. Then a technician named Mary (THE OWNER APPARENTLY) came to drill my nails. While she was drilling my hand she made a comment to her co worker in Vietnamese about how gross my nails which I understand but I just brushed it off, because I really just wanted my nails off. After drilling my hands went back into the acetone to soak some more. Another 15 mins past, no technician came to take care of me. Instead they send the JANITOR!! that's right JANITOR, it clearly say it on his name tag too, to come a file my nails. I could tell this man had NO IDEA on what to do because he slightly cut me with the file. I pulled back my hands, and ask nicely if I could get a different technician. So back into the acetone I went which stung like hell because of the small cut the JANITOR gave me. All I heard was the technicians talking back and forth about how I didn't let the JANITOR file me down, & for someone to hurry up and finish, so I can leave. At that point I was starting to get very impatient. I was there for a good 45 mins, no one came to take care of me. I asked to pay and as I was leaving, I express to Mary how unhappy I was with everything. She try to explained that because I have color acrylic nails, it takes longer to soak. I paused her real quick & gave a piece of my mind IN VIETNAMESE. I told her the reason my nails aren't coming off is because she's suppose to drill it first, no matter how long I soak, IT WILL NOT come off but she had the nerves to tell her co worker that my hands are gross? She thought I didn't know, or even understood what she was saying? & to top it off she still charge me $10. Mary did offers to smooth out my nails down. But honestly I was already so upset by the whole experience. I just wanted to leave. I just think everything was handle so poorly. It was so unprofessional for them to talk about a client in front of the client. Hopefully this whole experience taught HER a lesson not to talk about a customer in-front of them, thinking they don't understand. I expected more from a boss. & I will be contacting state board to tell them about my experience. THANKS FOR NOTHING! read more

I came to this place after my friend recommended it to me, but will not be coming back here again. The nail tech who worked on my nails was coughing nonstop, and despite wearing a mask it's still very inconsiderate to cough towards my direction and my hands instead of coughing in your elbow or away from people. She did not stop coughing the entire time. I also showed her my reference picture of what I wanted on my ring fingers, and she took one look at it but then just drew whatever she felt like. I thought it wouldn't be hard to mess up a frowning face but apparently it's hard for her to recreate. My boyfriend also wanted the face and got a different lady who aced it. However when we were explaining to her what we wanted for him, my nail tech told her "just draw two X's and a line," in a rude way, dismissing what we said about the reference photo and not caring about how it's actually supposed to look. Luckily I showed her the reference anyways and she did a great job. Unfortunately though I will not be coming back because my nail tech was rude and coughing nonstop. read more
