This time the owner who does my finger nails made me feel as though he was entitled. While he always seems very nice and whenever you ask something of him, his words come off as willing to accommodate, however, I know his work and if you're not including a manicure with a dip polish only it has come out very close to perfect. He told me last time that to have a clean appearance with cuticles trimmed, I would have to pay for a manicure. That being said and me being a cosmetologist graduate, much was left out for what I payed. He soaked my nails in the dip polish remover and then proceeded to push my cuticles down with his own finger nail. The remover dries out the skin so when he proceeded to try pushing my cuticles down, his nail was sliding over my skin and hurt! I couldn't believe it so I just pulled my hand away and said I'll do it. The correct process should have been to soak my fingers in warm soapy water to soften the cuticle so when you use the "tool" it pushes easily without pain or injury. He also left out the hand and arm massage that accompanies a manicure. My pedicure which was done by Jimmy was perfect! For the first time in 9 months of being in SC did a beautiful job. My toe nail polish for some reason has a tendency to bubble up when they dry. Before Jimmy applied the top coat he fanned the applied polish so the top coat went on smoothly and bubble free. The staff were all very friendly and the two gentlemen who have done my nails were very skilled. I wanted long gel nails and had to have tips put on every finger because my nails are so broken and short. I assumed the process would include a full manicure but it did not. The oil that was applied masked the dry skin though. My nails looked beautiful both times. (I had an out-of-town wedding to attend so my nails needed beautifying!) I loved the one pedicure I have gotten. I chose the "middle" choice of pedicure options. I requested gel polish on my toenails and they still look good after 5 weeks. Lux is the only place I will ever go for a mani pedi. Their pedicures are so relaxing. The leg massage last far longer than any other place I have been to. I get a dip on my nails and it lasts me a month before I have to change out. They use high quality products and it shows with how long it lasts. They are always busy, so I recommend setting an appointment. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes after my appointment time. The salon is super clean and always welcoming. I received the best pedi and fill by Jimmy, at Lux nails, since we moved here 10 years ago. Everyone was so nice. Sue was fantastic as well she helped polish my nails and was so pleasant. My appointment was at 10:30 and he started around 10:40. That is by far my biggest complaint w nail shops. You should not have to wait more than 10 min or so if you have an appointment. That is why we make them. They did not disappoint. My 2nd appointment is tomorrow. read more

These guys are awesome! Kind, efficient, it's clean with flowing decor. Some places decor is all over the place it's uncomfortable but this place is pretty and relaxing. Sometimes a little tough to communicate but they're patient with me and I don't back down. I've been bringing examples of photos from Pinterest and they may not have exactly what's needed but do their best to improvise and my nails are always perfect! I made an appointment the day before and they were very accommodating. I went in and it was super clean-- no nail trimmings or anything gross on the floor. I might recommend someone wearing a mask if they get headaches from strong cleaning chemicals/smells. The staff was very professional and friendly and did a fabulous job with my mani & pedi. My daughter Leila and I received Pedicure #2, and it was an amazing experience. Both of the young ladies that completed our pedicures were warm and friendly, and engaged in conversation with us. This is the place to go in Five Forks! Wonderful customer service. I called for an appointment the day before and at my appointment time I had no wait at all. Great service, fantastic massage and pedicure by Sunny. They come around and check on every one and see if you need a drink. The place is clean and a nice calm atmosphere.
