My morning visits to Ceres bakery have been a highlight since I've moved to Kalispell. After I drop my girls off at school, I walk in to grab a fresh loaf of sourdough that we consume in a matter of two days along with my daughters favorite, a chocolate croissant. This an amazing place! I have lived in the valley for about eight years now and have always heard amazing things regarding this bakery yet have never tried it. When I finally did I was pleasantly surprised! Finding delicious baked goods in the middle of Montana is not an easy task. After trying almost every local coffee shop and cafe in the area, no place compares to the ambiance and price. I ordered a 16 oz matcha late and a scone which totaled $6.90 which is about a dollar more than just a 16oz late at Starbucks. While the late may have been a little over sweetened for my taste, I would be interested to see what they use to sweeten it and if there are other options available. That being said, it was certainly better than so many other local, and chain cafes in Kalispell. The scone on the other hand was perfect, and with the large selection of scones and other baked goods I am excited to try them all! The service was excellent as well. They did not seem over, or understaffed and my order was completed very very quickly. Over all a wonderful experience and will certainly be back especially with the addition of a seating area where some work can be done! read more

Hard to say how much I love this place. I don't think I've ever had anything from ceres that wasnt delicious. Amazing baked goods, quality affordable coffee and friendly, cheerful staff keep me coming back here more than I care to admit. Oh my goodness! Amazing! We are on a cross country road trip and found this charming bakery on Yelp. The sticky bun was the best we have ever eaten. The soft bun combined with the sticky caramel was decadent. The bun did not have a large amount of nuts which I appreciated because I prefer no nuts so it was just enough for a hit of flavor and good texture. The savory croissant was an amazing combination of buttery pastry and a medley of feta, spinach and sun dried tomato. My latte came with art which I have missed while living in the northeast. In a nutshell...what a charming gem. If you are not driving there right now you should be. When we make another trip to Kalispell, we will be stopping by for sure! read more

Nice bakery. Ran in as they were closing today and received a very friendly greeting. I bought brownies. The cranberry one was like a rich chocolate brownie with a 7-layer bar on top. Ooooohhh. We ordered croissants, sweet potato rolls, and several loafs (French sourdough and focaccia),as well as coffee and tea. All were well-baked and prepared quickly by friendly staff. The sweet potato sticky buns elicited the loudest "WOW's." For me, the biggest surprise came at the end of ordering when the bill came and the price for six family members was on par with just drink orders alone at other bakeries. tl;dr version, go for breakfast, pick up some loaves; your stomach and wallet will thank you. read more

What a cute little bakery in downtown Kalispell! Just stopped in on my way to Spokane. I ordered their green tea matcha, and the girl at the register was so sweet and suggested I try it with a shot of coconut. It was delicious! I also had one of their ricotta basil pastries with grape tomatoes on top- this was a great little snack to have on the road. Service here is very friendly, the location is great, and the matcha hit the spot. They also have free wi-fi here, which was a nice treat for me before I headed back out on country roads with no reception at all! read more

What would the Flathead do without Ceres Bakery? Many of us would be in serious trouble for sure. These guys supply many of the eateries and supermarkets in the area with fresh baked bread. You can stop in and pick some up fresh if you're lucky enough to live nearby or happen to be passing by. Lets compare your supermarket loaf with a Ceres loaf for a moment. Bleached white flour baked to produce a thin light and dull crust and generally dull flavor in the one hand. In the other a rich inner dough that produces a reasonable hardy crust that goes well with just about anything. For about two and half times the cost. I would really like to give Ceres five stars. For the most part they deserve it. But I just expect so much more from them. They are a cornerstone business who's products directly elevate or diminish the meals being served throughout the Valley. Because of this I would hope that they are constantly working to expand and refine the product and offerings. Came in for coffee and found irresistible pastries too. My friend had a wonderful huckleberry bun and I had a savory croissant, right out of the oven. Absolutely love this place. Very reasonable prices, great selection of sweet and savory treats, great bread, good coffee! They have a bread cutter machine so can cut any loaf into perfect slices upon request (makes for delicious sandwiches at home) and also do lattes if that tickles your fancy. The day olds are all only $1.00, and travel well for easy on the go and/or camping breakfast. read more

Our daughter in law was spending her birthday in Kalispell with a group of 12 year old soccer players and I really thought a cake was something she deserved to celebrate just how wonderful she is. Always excited to try a new bakery when out of town. This one appeared to have some good reviews. Unfortunately we made it in afternoon which I assume impacted their selection some. We tried the strawberry peach pie type thing which was delicious and the a apricot savory crossaint which was okay. Nothing extraordinary. Also got the basil lemonade which sadly only had one sip before I had to get a water instead. Maybe to.mich basil??? Probably wont retunr but worth a try maybe if you get there early. Would have given 0 if I could and here is why - All Americans should know their constitutional rights especially during times like this and no one can force others to wear masks. When we walked into the store, there was no greeting and the very first question was "Do you guys have masks and if you don't, go outside and we will take your order." (The weather was in 10s that day) We politely asked if there was a menu for us to take outside, and the lady said No. A customer in front of us had her mask down and was freely talking to the cashier so we asked how that is ok (since they seemed to care so much about "HEALTH") and she had no answer to give us. We went there to support our local business and walked out of it with immense disappointment. If masks are such a huge deal for them, they should at least be consistent with their believes. With this kind of treatment, I do not believe anyone would have desire to go back to this place. read more
