Motown Lumber has been in business since 1928, and it's a wonderful old-time shop. That said, it's well-stocked to provide you with the necessary materials and tools. After having a terrible experience with another company who placed my order wrong and delivered wrong pavers. Buddy made phones calls sent emails and made it possible for me to pick up my copings I needed to start my backyard. also picked up 12 pallets of pavers from him that he kept in their yard till I was ready for them. I've bought knotty cedar (only 1 i had delivered and a few issues with coordinating, but ultimately got the lumber i needed) wormy maple, black walnut and cherry in varying lengths over the years. Again though, it was usually only a few pieces of lumber and I knew what I wanted ahead of time. To alleviate issues with service, you need to have an idea of the wood you are looking for, pick out the pieces you want. Once you have them, you have to be assertive and grab a guy on the floor to write you a ticket to pay at the window. If I didn't know about lumber or was a customer who didn't know what they wanted, not sure I would go there because it is chaotic, overwhelming and the associates don't seem to helpful.

UPDATE: Shout out to Store Manager (Mario) for working with me to resolve this situation…read more Good to know some people still have a heart and can apply logic despite "policy". Thanks again! ---- Original Post---- As a homeowner, my husband and I have shopped in both Lowe's and Home Depot for over 20 years. We have spent an extraordinary amount of money in both of these stores. We rarely need to make returns, but we just had a recent instance of having to return 5 bags of polymeric sand because we decided to have the job done by a contractor. I saved the receipt and my husband went to the store to return the sand. It was a VERY UNPLEASANT experience to learn that there is a 90 day window on returns (with receipt) and NO EXCEPTIONS ARE GRANTED FOR A RESELLABLE ITEM such as polymeric sand! Needless to say, we have made our LAST purchase at Lowes and I will be sharing this VERY NEGATIVE experience EVERYWHERE I can.
