We celebrated our granddaughter's 2nd birthday here. Absolutely delightful for both toddlers and their parents. We each chose an object to paint. And of course we took our art project result home to show off our talents. The tables were set nicely, got lots of paint, brushes, napkins... The staff is very accommodating and really helpful . We got cupcakes and lemonade and were allowed to bring some additional snacks. Will return soon for more fun projects. read more

I was surprised with a date here some months ago. There's a BYOB wine option where you bring booze and CC supplies a plate of cheese/meats for you. I believe it's a $10 reservation fee which is then applied to the ceramic piece of your choice. The studio was ridiculously busy that night. I'm not sure if there's zero air inside or if it's hot/stuffy as all frek because of the kiln in the back. Regardless, it makes having an enjoyable date kinda difficult (a long with the hoards of kids/parents that particularly evening). The staff is young and not as enthusiastic about showing you how to do much. We told them we had a reservation for the wine option but they couldn't find it as first. Regardless, I don't think they were prepared and we're pretty sure one of them ran to the Ralph's next door to get some cheese/crackers/salami. We were also a bit weary about the wine 'goblets' they used as glasses for the wine (we weren't sure if the goblets were cleaned as there was no soap anywhere in the studio that day). Every clay item there (for you to paint and decorate) is ridiculously expensive. We actually choose a football shaped platter to paint together as nothing else seemed to catch our eye. The process was fun and it was a nice date. You pick up your finished piece a few days later. We didn't think we did a great job painting/decorating platter but we ain't Picasso so whatever. So consider the wine/cheese option next time. I'd suggest calling the day of though and confirming with them the reservation so that there's no confusion when you get there. They are now located on the top floor by Ralphs and by Geppetto's, I called to inquire about their suite # and the girl there said it's D7. read more

Attended a birthday party here for a 2 year old. It was so much fun for both the kiddos and the adults! I am in love with it here, plain and simple. I have been a couple of times and I have never had any problems or complaints. The staff is always funny and really easy to talk to and they have a great selection of ceramics and paint colors to pick from. When you go in there are a ton of tables and you can claim one and them take a look at the ceramics along one side of the store against the wall. They have an amazing variety and something for every price point. Once you pick your ceramic, you go to the register and pay and then you are set to move on to the next steps. If you have never been here before, tell the staff member and ask them to give you the low down and they will walk you through the next steps here as well. After I paid I went off to the side where the paints are. They have palates and you pick the colors you want and put them in your palate. It is so important to use the palate because when you remove a paint for your own use, you remove it from everyone else who may have wanted to use that color and you run the risk of not remembering where that paint belongs on the shelf. Under that paints you can find a finished piece of ceramic and it will let you see what color the finished project will be. In this area is also where there are tools like paint brushes, pencils, paper clips, toothbrushes, sponges, etc. Once you have your gear you can get painting! I have painted coasters, a pumpkin, Santa, and a ginger bread man ornament. The painting is a lot of fun but takes a lot of time. Whatever amount of time you think it will take you to paint your piece add about an hour on top of that and that is how long it will most likely take you. You have to do 3 coats of the paint to get the best color and if you have something that is detailed, it will take a while so be sure to have patience and if you are with kids, pick a small piece to work on. Once you are done painting your piece you bring it to the register where someone will put a glaze on top and fire it up and you can pick your piece up in 5 days. This is a great place to come to get crafty, even if you aren't crafty. It is kind of like a coloring book. You don't have to be an artist but still get to put your input in it. The best part is that it is perfect for all age groups. You can bring your 5 year old child and your 95 year old grandma and have a great experience. I have loved all of my experiences and everything that I have painted. This is such a great activity to do and I know I will keep coming back so I can add more items to my holiday collections to decorate my apartment with and I highly suggest everyone else try it out at least once. read more

I come here a lot because my kid likes this place. The customer service is horrible though. No one greets you and they always seem bothered when they ring you up. Every time we come to pick up they cannot find it. They always review your order again & keep saying they can't find it. This has happened at least four times and the last time said they would call. Plus who wants to waste 20 min. while they rummage around every time. Ehhh leaves a lot to be desired on a lot of level. read more

While I've been taking kids that I work with to the CeramiCafe for years, I just recently decided to give it a try myself. What made me finally give in, you may ask? The fact that they had a ceramic pug! Not just any dog, but specifically a pug. As a pug owner, I practically had no choice. And now I think I may be addicted. My pug turned out wonderful, especially considering it was my first attempt at painting ceramics. After I selected my ceramic and paid at the register, I selected my paints. There's a nice assortment of colors and I love that they give a finished example of what each color will look like when it's finished. Don't be discouraged that your paint color looks lighter than you expected as you paint because it will darken when they fire it. They advise doing three coats of paint to make sure that the color comes through as vibrant as possible. Since my pug is a very light colored pug, I used the lightest beige paint and it barely looked like I had painted anything but the color showed up nicely on the finished product. One lesson I learned was to be very careful with the dark colors. I accidentally bumped my ceramic with the brush while I was painting with the black and even after I covered the spot with a few layers of beige, it still slightly showed through. All my fault though! I love that you can take your time on the project. I wasn't able to finish on the first day but I took the piece with me and returned later in the week to do the finishing touches. Then I returned five days later to pick up the finished product. It's nice that there is such a wide variety of ceramic pieces with different prices so you can match something to your budget. My pug only cost $15, which considering that I spent 2 to 3 hours working on it, makes it a pretty good price for both entertainment and the finished ceramic. So far, I've only been during the day and there's often a lot of children around. I'm hoping to plan a girl's night here with my friends soon and I'm assuming that there will be less children at night. Most of the kids seemed to be well behaved but it can get a bit loud during the day. I'm hoping for a more peaceful setting at night. I love that you can bring your own wine and snacks in the evening and plan to take advantage of that too. read more

This is a great place for Girls Night Out or even date night. You can bring your own drinks (alcohol) while you're there to sip on. When you enter the store there are shelves of different ceramics that you can choose to paint. The prices are a little high but you have to keep in mind that the prices include paint and them firing the pieces up for you. Occasionally there are Groupon deals so be sure to buy one. A lot of the smaller paint bottles were low on paint or were clogged so that was a little frustrating when you want a particular color. We had our daughter's 4th birthday party here in July. While our guests enjoyed painting, we found the woman who ran our party to be hostile and impatient with all of our guests. She rushed the kids through things and was rude to the parents. The icing on the cake was at the end of the party, my daughter-the birthday girl, mind you-had her piece fall and get broken. The employee looked at us and said "if you want I'll sell you another for full price." It made me really regret the generous tip I'd given her. CeramiCafe-please work on your customer service. I came here last night with my fiancé since our Groupon was expiring soon. Overall, it was really fun to be creative and glaze your own piece! Quick tips: 1. Some of the pieces can be pricey. My small teacup/teapot was $30 and a small gnome was $28. If possible, I highly recommend using a Groupon ($15 for $30) 2. You pay for your piece first before sitting down and glazing. 3. You're not finished before it closes? No problem! just take your piece with you and bring it (and your receipt) the next day to finish. 4. Have fun! Came here on the groupon ($15 for $30) last weekend. I have been to similar businesses before (clay n latte, color me mine) and experienced a lot better customer service than what I experienced here. Everything as far as the paints, choices of ceramics, etc. was great. They have a lot of different pieces to choose from (vases, figurines, mugs, bowls) to suit all ages. I painted a small chip and dip bowl ($20) which I hope to repurpose as a sushi/soy sauce plate. My friend painted a vase and a small shark figure, both adding to exactly $30 without tax. If you're coming on the groupon, the two pieces have to add to just below $30 to allow room for taxes. The thing that wasn't so great about this place was the getting started, at other places they give you the full rundown about where to get your paints, water, and how to wipe down the ceramic before you start. All the employees were very young high school boys, which is fine, but they didn't really give us much direction (mainly on how to get water to wash our brushes). They were very friendly and eventually brought us a bowl of water, but we were wondering for at least 30 minutes whether we'd have to keep reusing our brushes. I loved stepping in this place on a hot day, the air conditioning was on full force and made painting very relaxing after being in the hot sun. I'd definitely come back here to paint something small, but it definitely gets pricey with bigger items. read more

Been here many times because of the awesome Groupon Deals here! This is my first review here and it's during Covid,so things are a little different. This place can get really busy but since covid it has died down a little bit. There's signs everywhere about social distancing and wearing a mask but their were a lot of people not following the rules as well as the staff. I saw about 7 people with no masks on in the store while painting, the tables are not spread out 6 ft! I like the fact they let you take paint home so you can do it there and bring it back to store to get it finished. It's a fun environment with music blasting and people of all ages enjoying themselves. Normally I would give this place 4-5 stars but due to the fact there's a pandemic and we were the only ones wearing a mask and it didn't seem the Staff and Management were not taking enough measures to keep people safe and enforce safety protocols I am dropping them to 2 stars. We picked out several ceramic pieces and spent some time (outside which felt very safe and was pleasant) painting them. My kid loved the one she made and it turned out great all in all. I arrived exhausted from Texas to celebrate an intimate artistic birthday with my granddaughter. Manager Josh made the experience such a joy to remember . He is so professional, but so kind and patient with all my questions. Not many people have his incredible friendly, creative, knowledgeable customer assistance. Wow! I thought this would be a great afternoon activity to do with my 8yr old daughter and although the concept is a great idea it definitely needs lots of work to make it successful! I stood in front of the cashier register waiting to be greeted and basically instructed how to proceed as a new customer in their store and I got zero greetings , zero acknowledgment and was left standing there wondering if I had made a good choice steeping into this store. This places deserves an Epic " F" !!!! We went here for a fun girls night and to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. Since it was an evening affair, we were allowed to bring snacks and even wine to the event which was really cool...so, made me think that the workers were cool, right? Ummm...not so much the case. I arrived 15 minutes after the rest of the girls due to another engagement and they had already picked their items to paint. I quickly picked out a plate and went to the front to pay for the item. While I've done ceramics before, I had not done it here so was looking for a little instruction from them. I found the girl to be very cold and not interested in the least to provide just a tad of information. Maybe she was irritated that I was late and didn't start with the rest of our party, I thought. Through our 3 hour visit when we'd approach them with a question or additional supplies, they proceeded to treat us with poor service and were not attentive at all. It was clear they did not want to be there or help us in any way. In fact, I think they would've greatly appreciated it if we did not interact with them in any way. I figured it might've been an off night for them but when we went to pick up our finished items, I received the same cold treatment I experienced the night of our first visit. Different girls so I take it that CeramiCafe doesn't train their employees to provide great customer service. Because of this, I prefer not to visit this place in the future. I only spent $15 here and it was $15 too much. I won't be back...but at least I got a really cute plate out of it and the girls and I had fun despite their poor customer service. read more

One of, if not the best ceramic place I have ever gone to. I'm not a fan of art, nor do I like to color things. But this place was great! First off, I love how they do not have a studio fee, so right off the bat, you're already saving at least $12 as an adult! As you walk in, the environment is very welcoming. You pick out what you would like to paint, and pay up at the front. Then they explain to you how you get your colors and all of that stuff. I believe the manger was in at the time I went in, and he was funny, friendly, and was an approachable guy. I am 24 years old. That is probably about 3x older than the average customer age here, but I do not care. I loved it. I came here with my boyfriend (also 24 years old), and a now 27 year old ahjushi. No children in tow, just 3 adults wanting to paint some ceramics. Service here is super friendly, and they got us started right away. We came about 2 hours before closing and used every minute of it! If you are a slow worker, give yourself AMPLE time. I was done pretty early, but bf and ahjushi took the whole time. They have a ton of pieces to choose from, and all the stamps/paints/brushes/sponges/stencils you can imagine, so you can really make whatever you like! I made a mug that I love, boyfriend made a little pirate statue that is super cool, and ahjushi haraboji made a mustache mug that is pretty nice! They tell you when you'll be able to pick up your pieces, and if it for some reason breaks before you pick it up, you get to do it again for free! Nice assurance, I guess. I would recommend for families, groups of children, or adults! I loved it. I believe they offer groupons from time to time as well, so check for that before coming here to save some $$. read more
