What should have been a routine phone upgrade turned into a devastating experience due to poor…read moremanagement and complete lack of accountability. I came in on a Thursday to transfer data from my old phone to a new one. Diana, the employee who initially helped me, was kind and genuinely tried to assist. A coworker even called me later that evening with an update after Diana had left. At that point, I still felt hopeful. Everything fell apart when the situation was handed off to the store manager. When I returned the next morning, the manager had no idea who I was or what had been going on. Despite me calmly explaining the situation and how critical my data was, he was dismissive, condescending, and clearly uninterested in helping. I was told nothing could be done. Canceling the transaction would take hours and would cost me a $50 restocking fee. Pressed for time and needing to return to Lincoln City, I felt forced to proceed based on his assurance that once an update was initiated, everything from my old phone would appear on the new one. I explicitly begged him not to erase my old phone until I could confirm the transfer was complete. He told me that was "not possible." It turns out my cloud backup only went through 2020. I lost the last five years of my life: irreplaceable photos of friends and family members who have since passed, critical text messages for my vacation rental business, and important documents saved on my phone. All gone. This loss is permanent. It was completely avoidable. And it was made worse by a manager who showed zero empathy, professionalism, or care. I am sharing this so others understand the risk. If your data matters to you--especially photos and business information--do not assume it will be handled responsibly here. One careless decision can cost you years you can never get back.

Not only is the service excellent and less expensive than our previous Spectrum service, but the customer service so far has been excellent. Our initial contact was James van Camp who guided us through initial hookup. We've had two technicians assisting us in connection and both were very professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately I don't remember the first tech's name. But the second technician (Spencer) went above and beyond just finalizing our permanent connection, and made sure our signal was strong enough for all our devices in our home. His knowledge, positive attitude and thoroughness reflects well on Astound, and I will be recommending others in PC to change from Spectrum.

Dish is absolutely terrible. I called to set up my account and told them that literally the only…read morechannels I wanted were the ESPN channels in HD. So they sold me the package and sent a guy to my place to set me up. Upon his arrival he informed me that I was only receiving an SD receiver so I would not be able to view any of my HD channels that I had paid for. Why would dish sell me HD channels but not tell me I wouldn't be able to view them? So I had to call and sort it out, and pay $100 to upgrade to an HD receiver. They sent a guy out to upgrade my receiver. Once I had the HD receiver I discovered that I didn't have any ESPN channels in HD. Dish had flat out lies to me and told me they were in my package when they were not. So I had to call in again and increase my monthly payments just to get the channels I was originally promised.
