If you want fiber...don't live in a new area where they need to install it. The tech will tell you, you have to figure out how to do it yourself or pay for an electrician to come do it for you. So not only will you have to pay for them to come out and "install" the fiber (what installation you're paying for I'm not sure), but now you also have to pay hundreds of dollars for an additional cost you weren't expecting because the tech can't be bothered to do his job. 10/10 don't recommend Quantum fiber read more

Nightmare Customer Service Abysmal customer service and ongoing technical issues with CenturyLink, in Layton Utah. My mother has been having issues with her phone service for months. We have made several service calls and repair appointments have been made, but for each appointment a technician never arrived. When an appointment is made, we are given a range of time between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM to wait for a repairman. That is an entire day spent waiting for a technician that never contacts us or shows up for the appointment. We are told we cannot have a specific time for an appointment nor can we have the contact information for the repairman. It seems CenturyLink is more interested in protecting their technicians than it is in serving its customers. Making a complaint about these issues is nearly impossible due to CenturyLink's ridiculously slow, glitchy, and complicated automated phone menu system available through their "customer service" line. I have been on hold for nearly two hours today trying to get through to customer service in order to make sure a technician actually shows up today. I am on hold as I write this. It's bad enough that CenturyLink overcharges for slow internet and poor phone services, but making repair requests so difficult to initiate and so frustrating to follow up on when no one arrives is beyond disrespectful and illustrates the actual values of CenturyLink and its affiliated company Lumen Technologies. read more

For those of you considering doing business with Quantum, CenturyLink, or UPS: don't. I returned equipment to Quantum early in September via a UPS prepaid label. I have received several emails and texts telling me that I will be charged $400 if I don't return the equipment, most recently yesterday. I have called Quantum twice, UPS twice and I have been into the UPS store trying to solve this problem. No luck. The employees were kind and attempted to help, but the systems the companies employ are inadequate. When I try to find my original label with the correct tracking number, UPS sends a new one, which is obviously pointless. I did what was required of me, but am being expected to pay as if I have not. I have no use for their equipment, no place to keep it and no need to pay $400 for nothing. Something very similar happened with CenturyLink and UPS years ago. Bad business. read more

never ever sign up for century link internet or any of their services!!! i don't ever usually post bad reviews because i don't want to be a negative person but i have to post something about this to try to help others be aware of the horrible service of century link!!! my internet suddenly stopped working about mid february and after that it was an absolute nightmare to get any help from century link. they were never able to fix the problem and never explained why so after two weeks without internet and complete frustration i cancelled and changed providers. and most frustrating of all is there is absolutely no way to actually talk with an real person and get any real help!! if i could rate century link below one star i would rate it as a negative 100!! one of the most frustrating experiences of my life! read more

Quantum fiber has left the cable strung across the property stating someone would come to bury the line. 2 months later the cable has not been buried and multiple phone calls has done no good. Cancelled and went with Google. They were out the next day to run the fiber to the outside of the house prior to installation appointment. They did a great job burying it 3-4 inches deep in the grass. Quantum runs fiber line from 2 houses away (the main box) then leaves the job unfinished. read more

I am so disappointed in the service or nonservice I received today that next week I will be looking for a new Last Saturday, July 21, I scheduled an appointment to upgrade my modem... At the request of the agent that I talk with who said it was a better deal for me. The appointment was for Friday, July 28. The agent told me that I would get a modem delivered to my home. The whole thing was going to cost 300 and something dollars... I've already paid it. I took off work today which is Friday. Around 9 o'clock. I received an email saying that the technician was at my home working. I never heard the doorbell ring. I went outside to meet the technician. There was no technician. Five hours later. I received an email saying oh, you weren't at home, so you have to reschedule! I've been sitting at home all day long. So another words, a technician for CenturyLink lied. Or CenturyLink is playing games. Maybe somebody called in sick and they just couldn't be honest with me. I've talk with several people through the chat box... No resolution whatsoever. Other than I can reschedule for Monday, August 1 Now mind you I took off work today, Friday... What is it going to look like if I call in again on Monday? It's going it's going to look like I took a long four day weekend vacation CenturyLink said they would refund my money. Obviously, my money is not good enough. Why would they treat one of the longest customers... Someone who they have never had to call about a missed payment... Why would they treat them like this? I'm sure they have technicians that they could send over here today or tomorrow Saturday... But they told me no emphatically no they don't care about me they don't care about my service they don't care about my longevity with the company . They want to reschedule for Monday... And let me just ask what if I were able to takeoff Monday and they didn't show up again, then work... I feel sorry for the people that work for CenturyLink... After a week a technician was able to switch out modems and it still did not work. I cancelled my subscription only for them to not refund me for something they never provided to me. If I could put zero stars I would. Placed an order for service (new line) 12/23/22 and told them at the time an actual person would have to come as this was a business complex. No one came out, line was not installed. Placed another order on 01/12/23 explained situation, again, to representative who did not understand AT ALL what I needed as they do not speak or understand English. When I called back on 01/26/23, because line was still not installed, they argued with me that the line was working. I asked how since a person did not come....Finally an actual person came out 02/01/23 and the line was installed. Now I'm being charged a repair trip charge $25 phone jack charge $99 (which was not installed) and trouble isolation charge $99 and past due $102 for service for February that I did not have. When I try to call someone to actually dispute this because I told them in December exactly what was needed, they just didn't send anyone..I get hung up on 3 times so far. They are extremely rude and do not want to help you and will not transfer you to Supervisor. They say no and hang up! This is not how businesses should treat their customers! For the fourth day this month, CenturyLink has taken our internet down with zero warning. This is after it was down for over a week less than 12 months ago. Customer service is not empowered to do much more than say sorry and offer token credits to our bill. I have been hung up on, and told that the call center doesn't make policy. To me, this indicates that the customer experience is unimportant to CenturyLink. We just signed up for a competitor, and I look forward to the final call that I make to CenturyLink, in order to cancel their terrible service. read more

Steer clear of these guys. I was trying to help my elderly parents move their service from location A to location B. When the internet wasn't hooked up at location B I called CenturyLink and was on the phone for nearly one hour. During that time, I probably spoke with 3 different people for a total of maybe 5 or 7 minutes. The representative told us that the internet would be available at location B within an hour. That never happened. We call back the next day only to find out that that order was pending. Horrible customer service! Stay away! read more

My entire neighborhood has only Centurylink in the area and we all hate it. For me, I have a most a 5 MB (5 MegaByte) connection and I am completely disgusted with it. If I could, I would leave them with a negative rating on any site I can, because whenever I am online and I check my speeds, I am averaging at 2 MB down and 1 MB up. My family all agrees with me, but we cannot get another internet provider, because our sub-division is older. If any internet provider is out there and is offering more than 10 MB down, please come to my neighborhood! I live on the west side of Flint Street and behind the Saltaire Farms. If you would send a representative and tell us that you are coming to install new internet in the area and are looking for new customers, you could get at least 10 to 20 homes. read more

Seriously, screw this company. Internet service is decent at best when it works, but the consistency? Imagine every week flipping a coin to decide whether or not your internet will work the whole week, that's about how consistent it is. The real icing the cake though is their "customer service." Let me share a story with you: a while back, we paid to get an upgrade in internet speed, we were paying for 40Mbps, but were we getting that? Of course not, this is CenturyLink. We were still getting 2 Mbps. We set up an appointment with a tech to come, so I took work off to let him in. I sat around all day waiting, dude didn't show. I called to ask what was going on, and they had the nerve to tell me "the tech showed up, but you weren't there." And so began a two hour ordeal dealing with the most incompetent group of morons I've ever dealt with. I kept track of all the times I was transferred around the company, it was a total of 7 transfers, some of them back and forth to the same departments, every single person telling me completely different things about what needs to be done. First it was: "we need to send a tech out, let me transfer you to them" then it was: "I don't know what they're talking about, we don't need to send a tech out for this, let me transfer you over here." Now I'm a patient individual, and I know what it's like to work at a call center, so I was patient for the first four transfers, but I was getting more and more frustrated, and when I finally snapped and began to express my displeasure at the stupidity of the company, the guy hung up on me. HE HUNG UP ON ME. They were charging us for a significant boost in speed, and not delivering it, and they hang up on me for getting upset over a problem they created. This went on for over a week before I finally got someone with half a brain that said "oh it's easy, I just need to hit a button, let me do that and I'll be out to check and make sure everything's good." Sure enough, my speeds immediately went up to what I was paying for, and the dude actually showed up. I told the guy to quit his job, because he was too good for his company, he didn't really respond, but he gave me a smile and a nod that told me he knew what I meant. We moved to an apartment complex, and managed to get a personal rep from them. She was great, she knew how to navigate what I can only assume is a mountain of red tape, but even then, we had unprofessional techs that would track dirt in our apartment, behave extremely inappropriately, and twice I had them come with the wrong parts and have to reschedule. When I shared this story with my cousin, who used to work for them, he told me he knows exactly what was happening, then told me what it was like. He said that the management don't care about solving issues, just getting through calls. He had management flat out tell him to lie to customers just to get them off the phone. He said he was told numerous times to tell customers that their problem was being worked on, and end the call, even if it wasn't. He had enough of it, and quit. Go to Xfinity, go to Utopia, hell, go to HughesNet, just whatever you do.... AVOID THIS COMPANY. My only regret is that I can't give them 0/5 stars, because they don't even deserve 1/5 read more

Horrendous customer service! We scheduled an install. Received a confirmation call of install time span. Total no show. I called after waiting 4 hours and they advised me to keep waiting. I called back after waiting 8 hours and they said oops, there is info missing and we never planned on coming to install today. Would have been nice to know! Been on hold 1.5 hours today with CenturyLink to figure out what happened. They clearly have no concern about their customers or the value of time. Steer clear of CenturyLink. If I could give Centurylink negative stars, I would. They guaranteed us 20 mbps Internet with 5 upload speeds, and we were getting 8 mbps and not even 1 upload speed. We cancelled after only 3 days of having it because our phone Internet was WAY faster than this crap. They said that we had the 30 day guarantee, so we weren't worried about being charged since we cancelled so quick, and the guy on the phone who cancelled it said we wouldn't be charged. He also told me that there is an Internet option where they can guarantee the speeds, but the guy who signed us up didn't give us that one even though he said he did. (Seems like crap to me). Then today, I got a bill in the mail for $80.60. I called to figure out why, and the guy I spoke with said that I needed to fill out the 30 day satisfaction guarantee form, which the first guy a week ago never even mentioned when I had called and cancelled. Also, when they came to activate the service, they had to install an orange wire to our house that ran all the way down the driveway. They said that they couldn't bury it since the ground was wet because of some snow, but that they would be out as soon as possible to get it taken care of. We cancelled on December 21st, and they still have not come to get the stupid cable that's running down our driveway. I talked to another guy to schedule a time to get that removed, and had to repeat my address to him about 6 times before he finally got it. Also, he sure struggled giving me the confirmation number for the appointment to get the cable removed. No one should ever get service through CenturyLink. I'm pretty patient, but this was a joke. I've only had service this bad 2 other times in my life. Serially, just save yourself the hassle and go with Comcast to begin with. read more

Like most others have stated here, CenturyLink has turned out to be a joke of a service company. The rep I signed up with told me the max speed in my area was 20/5, 20MB down and 5MB up. I needed 3MB up for a service I was using. A few days after installation I checked the speed and it was 1.8MB. Hours of calls later I finally got to a tech in Salt Lake City who confirmed that 2MB up was the max in my area. Calls back to CenturyLink were met with "gee sorry." That was it. Then they recently raised my bill because a "loyalty" promotion had expired and there's still no record of my paperless billing subscription that I've signed up for twice now. I'm so fed up with them that it's time to try and find a better company. Comcast had great service but their pricing was just ridiculously expensive. What started at $89 climbed to over $200 in four years. Talk about mafia tactics. But paying $65 a month with Centurlylink for 20MB down and only 2MB up isn't exactly a good deal either. read more

Don't use Century Link. We had them for a year and the service was fine. Of course, at the end of our contract the rate went way up (why should anyone try to retain a current customer?). We switched to Comcast for a better rate. Century Link said they would probably send me a shipping label to return our modem. They never sent one. I assumed they didn't want it back because it was old and out of date. Never heard anything from them again. Almost a year later I received notice from a collection company that so owed Century Link $105.00 for the modem. I still live at the same address, have the same phone number, and e-mail address that was on the account, and Century Link never contacted me about the return of this old modem, they just waited a year and turned my account over to collections. Legally, the modem should be considered abandoned property, since they made no effort to retrieve it from me. Luckily I still have the old thing, so I will return it now, but this is such a dishonest way to treat a customer that I will never use their services again. read more
