I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one that had bad service from Link Interactive. They did absolutely nothing to assist me other than make me pay out my contract for a product that never worked once THEY updated a part in the console. I had my son-in-law install the part, who is an IT director, and once installed it just beeped and beeped. Never worked. I asked to cancel my service and stopped paying by turning off my credit card for auto payments. But OH NO, I have a 2 year contract & they threaten to send me to collections. They don't support their own product and god forbid if you want someone to service it. You do it yourself. I finally got pissed off and mailed it back to them. Of course, they said it worked perfectly. Do you think they would have given me a new console, since mine was several years old and now had parts updated by THEM? Of course not. They sent it back and I plugged it in, and it did the same thing. As pissed off as I was at that moment I ripped it off the wall and threw the damn thing across the room, then picked up the pieces and threw in the trash. I've been paying for this piece of crap with no service for over a year. Here's the best part, when I caught up on my past due payments a few days after I paid, they charge my new credit card, without my authorization, for $179. They could never explain what that was for. Now I had proof, so I filed a fraudulent complaint with my bank. I got the money refunded by the bank, and Link never acknowledged it, but it no longer shows the charge. Today I sent them a certified check for the balance and told them again to CANCEL my account. NOW my contract with this awful company is over. I gave been a customer since 2011, which is when Debbithe manager. Under her leadershio,she was professional, courteous, and effective. Since her retirement, you can see that same level of services has vanished with mostly one star reviews. When I have an issue, I tried to resolve it with Elise, who is completely unprofessional, verbally combative, and snippy. Our system has ALWAYS been set to call us on our cells first, not the two way system. Of course, they proclaim differently. Law enforcement was dispatched, which we are charged for a false alarm. I guess 14 years as a customer means nothing to them. However, then they reply that they strive for the best customer experience and would love to make it right, if given the opportunity. FACT: They were given the opportunity and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to make it right. In reviewing several reviews on various sites and platforms, it is evident that their model in business has focused more on greed and less on customer satisfaction. For the record, I have no problem paying more for better service, and I understand that prices increase over the years. What I dont understand and nor will I accept, that customer service goes by the way side. I was with this company since 2015 and overt the past couple of years the price has gone insane called to talk about it they wanted to have me sign a 3-year contract just to lower my bill just to have it increase even more the next year. As said in other reviews, they scam you into an agreement with no way out and no guarantee that the equipment will work or that they will be able to render the services they are charging for. When contacting Elyse Brown with customer service, I was told this is a DIY company and you are responsible for making sure the service is active and functional. My panel was apparently not sending a signal due to a tower upgrade and despite installing the new 4g card, it remained inactive for an entire year before the issue was resolved, all of which I was billed for. When I expressed my displeasure with the service and asked not for my money back, but to end the contract early, they offered to "let me buyback the contract at a 25% discount" charging me hundreds of dollars to cancel. read more

They suck!!!!!! I have had them for years but speaking to ANY agent there is a challenge. Poor understanding. The account is in my husband's name and I pay the bill out of my account. We don't share the same last name so I issues conducting any business with them. My bill has increased and as a long time customer I requested a reduction which the agent offered after going round and round with him on with a random increase without any notice. Long story short he offered a reduction (which we appreciated) however no one wants to be able to speak with me because technically I am not the account owner YET they take the money from my account for the last 10 years. Awful service, we've had this panel since May they said due to Covid we had to do a self install. I use to install hard wired systems. Once all of the sensors were in we began having issues with the Zwave devices. Sometimes they would respond I'd try and reinterview them, the panel would freeze up and have to be rebooted. Cameras wouldn't pair up without having to reset the panel, the Zwave, deleting and reinstalling devices. They'll work for sometime and then fail off issues I've never had with other systems! I have spent hours on the phone with them and Alarm.com and they have me unplug, reboot, uninstall and rediscover devices with the same issue! When I finally told them I just wanted me service cancelled! And they threatened me with $1280 charge! read more

Ok system & app is the alarm.com app which is okay but doesn't always work. Main issue is the ridiculous process needed to cancel. It has to be initiated during their open hours, which has been a challenge in my time zone. Then it took 15 minutes on the phone, followed later that day by needing to fill out and sign a docusign, including re-writing all the info that was in it already. Then you have to pay the full next bill, so since I called 10 days into one billing period, I'm paying for 50 days of not using it (plus the week it took me to find time to call during their open hours). read more

I purchased our link interactive system through Costco a little over a year ago after suffering for YEARS with a local South Florida security monitoring company, a rather unhealthy relationship because it was a family "friend". The company didn't want to deal with online access, at one point, when we wanted cameras and phone app access to the security system, the owner told us that was stuff he didn't feel like dealing with; customer service *so* bad, even at the end still demanding payment when the darn alarm panel sat dormant for *months* because none of their techs could keep scheduled repair appointments. I had to call BBB for them to stop billing us. We would've left a review for the company but we heard they harassed another customer so badly for leaving a very similarly telling review, we said forget it and hope for Karma. Grrr. Smh. Moving on. At that point, we were up for DIY security. So far this has been good for our family. 5+* - customer service, incredible. Hard to beat. They baby step us every time I call. Every tech I've spoken to has the patience of steel, like nothing you say could be more stupid, even though might be. 4* - the equipment selection. It's mostly alarm.com products, which have been OK. Some home automation, I love the thermostat. You can't just order from the website, you have to call and speak to someone which is a little bit of a pain of you know exactly what you need. We've had a few equipment issues, the the customer service has been so good, they usually figure it all the first call. It's not always cutting edge, but it works for us 4.5* - for the app and the security control website, which is great for novice users like me. UI is pretty good. You can also get fancy with programming your system, too once you get the gist of how extensive you'd like to be alerted of things like if a certain door opens using a certain entry code (the kid is home), talk to someone at the door even if they don't ring the doorbell (I once told police officers how cute they were as they walked past my front door while they were responding to a false alarm), garage door control, automated door locks lock when you arm the system, and so much more! Prices for monthly monitoring are very competitive with other companies. They do have contracts they say to keep pricing lower; I wasn't too happy about. But I relented and now we plan to be with this company for a long, long time, their service is evolving and is keeping up with technology, unlike others. Been using service with company since 2016. Due to health and age had to move into assisted living home. Brooklyn P. Was very rude, too many personal questions just to cancel service. We had 3year contract well past, was told when we bought it , it'll be month to month after that mace cancel anytime for FREE! . The upsetting part was cutting service you have to "buyout your contract" for an extra month. And it's something you have to agree to or else they won't cancel. Since your card is stored on their side there's no reason to argue with these scum. That's terrible practice to nickel and dime people. Also took Brooklyn over 2 weeks to get everything done. Not reliable customer service . Sent a follow up email telling me "click to sign " but if she looked I signed 2 weeks ago. Avoid these people. So they may not be the cheapest but I have to say their products work, are easy to install and their customer service has always been outstanding! I got the starter set through Costco and didn't install it for a while. I have had to call them to install new equipment or get help with an issue and they answer quickly, are so friendly and helpful, I must admit I'm kind of blown away as you just don't get good, US based customer care anymore. My mom had Bay Alarm, which uses different hardware and is professionally installed and locally serviced. It is a LOT more expensive. That might be good if you aren't handy and don't want to work on the system yourself. I kind of like doing my own work. I see a bad review about someone who inherited a system they had problems with but who knows how old the gear is etc. I think Link is great. Ordered my system through Costco. Jose with Link was outstanding. Before I purchased it I had several questions and concerns and Jose was there every step of the way. I was looking at 2 different systems, Link and one other classic (non-wireless system). They were neck to neck. One thing stood out. Jose was always there for me, when ever I emailed or called. The other company I guess was too busy. So I liked what Link had to offered and ordered the product. Once received I read the easy instructions and started to install. I had a few basic questions like what size drill bit to use on the recessed modules, manual states 11/16' but Link Recommended 3/4" so much easier. I had a question about an external bell/horn. I researched the one I wanted, made sure it would work, and David at Tech support said no problem. I added a couple of modules I purchased through my Home Theater Distributor. Once again David help me add them (actually he did it all). Another thing I love about Link, you can buy product to add elsewhere if you like. I have had it installed now for two months, activated the monitoring. No issues. I checked in with the Central Office and they verified that my control panel is communicating with them. The alarm.com web interface and cell phone app is great. I had one issue, my wife's alarm panel code didn't work after i set it. I called Link, and found out I didn't set her profile to have access to arm/disarm the panel, 1 click and I was done. Link was right there to help. No issues with my cell phone app. Notifies you on everything. You can set up notifications to push onto your cell phone, receive emails or text messages. Tells you what ever you want. Mine tells me when someone arms/disarms the system, leaves a window or door open more than 15 minutes (adjustable). Love this feature. Of course in test mode it goes off quite often so be aware. (alerts because you are playing with the system and testing). I purchased extra magnets for my thin window mounts, so I can set my window open, install a magnet (two way tape) now I can leave my house with the window slightly opened and the house is still secure. I would definitively recommend this system to anyone. Will review again after I have monitoring on for a couple of months. read more

Initially liked that it was offered through Costco. But after many years with them, other better affordable options became available. The contract period of 3 years is too long. I ended up calling to cancel service, but they said I needed to pay for an additional month even though I would no longer be using their service and even though I was no longer on contract. I am disappointed that after being with them for 6 years, they expect me to pay for a month where I will not be using the service. They offered me to keep the service running for one month to see if the new occupant will take up on the service, so that I can get a referral fee, which really doesn't make any sense as I do not know who will be the next occupant and I would have to pay for the service for that month. I would probably look elsewhere with options that do not tie you to a contract. read more

Nightmare of a company! TL;DR: they messed up a request, canceled my account, and now claim they cannot revert it back. Now I cannot use the system I paid for, and their response is basically, "too bad, so sad." First, let's go back a few years to when I first bought into their scheme... The sales rep lied to me about what hardware was required to have my detached shop wireless connections reach my control panel. He sold me the extender for auxiliary (smart) devices, not door sensors. I ended up having to pay even more in a secondary order to get those working. Next, the touchscreen they sold me wasn't very responsive (constantly forcing me to press the wrong numbers, or no numbers at all), which made me just use the phone app instead. Link Interactive refused to swap out my faulty touch panel. Their "large animal" setting on the motion sensors apparently thought my Chihuahua was too large, and many false alarms were triggered. I eventually just had to skip my mutton sensors, and just arm "stay" which means I wasted money buying three motion sensors that weren't being used. Now let's get to the most recent incident. I'm finally out of the 3 year contract timeframe for monitoring, and was told when I bought this system that after 3 years, I could easily cancel the monitoring, and stitch to self-monitoring, where the app would still fully function, but no central station to dispatch fire or police. This is what I attempted to do, but instead, Link Interactive disabled my entire account. Why is this bad? Well, they also had alarm.com cancel my account, which means my entire system isn't accessible boss the app anymore. I called to have them fix this, but now I'm told that the system is an older 3g device, and alarm.com won't revert the cancellation, and they also won't start service again on the older system. So this means they sold me almost $1,000 of hardware, and now it's all useless paperweights. Do yourself a favor and avoid this crap-shot company. I don't have a better suggestion for you, but just don't spend you money with these people! read more

We inherited this system from previous owners. It has been a headache from the moment we moved in. They don't service any if their equipment and only service your "service" by phone. We spent HOURS on the phone just to get access to one camera and a door bell camera. Once we finally gained access, there is no recording and the motion sensors that alert you to movement are so delayed that anyone you might see on camera has long since left. Essentially, we can only see what is happening around our house if we turn on a camera and watch it live. It does a good job of alerting us to open doors, that's it. We requested to stop service. We have paid for the current month, but our system was shut off immediately after we requested to end our contract, even though there are 20 days left in the month. As usual, we are away from home with zero access to anything that is happening. Avoid at all costs. Get a Ring doorbell for superior security. read more

After 4 years using this service in 3 locations I have to look back and realize how many problems and wasted money went to this company. The "bonus" they gave me "expired" before I could use it. The "suspension" I put on the service to switch locations started back up automatically without notice. Even when I went to cancel my month-to-month contract they said they can't stop the service until I pay the full balance (which must be illegal), so I fought that, and they are threatening to send my bill to collections the very day they unnecessarily strung my contract out til. read more

After multiple issues with our service, we got out of our contract and our last day is 2/4/19. Last night we discovered that we were locked out of our account and they disconnected us. They will not help us over the phone and tell us we have to call Monday for help. What type of alarm monitoring company can't help you on the weekend? So now we are not protected at all. When we walked out of our door one day to find three white men in rubber gloves and covered faces, we knew they had been staking out our house and we're waiting for us to leave to break into our house. Police caught them, held them at gunpoint, tazed them, found and returned stolen property and sent them to jail. Turned out they're neighborhood boys (one of whom is the son of a neighborhood officer) and they've broken into two homes already - even after released from jail! Needless to say, we beefed up our security the same day. We looked at numerous systems and we finally decided on Link Home Security. We trust Costco to give us good recommendations - they were spot on. The system was easy to install and amazingly simple to use. Their system app allows you to monitor your home with cameras, receive texts or emails when a sensor is triggered, has an incredible glass break sensor (I dropped my keys on the trash can and set it off!), and has smash and grab technology that immediately sends a signal to police if you don't turn off the alarm or they don't get a response. And police response is FAST. Yesterday, we came home and forgot to turn the alarm off and came in the garage door. The alarm went off, we bolted for the panel (it took less than 30 seconds to get there) and immediately there was a man on the panel demanding that we identify ourselves and our passcodes twice, as well as ask if we were safe and if we needed assistance. We took a chance and we couldn't be happier with this system. Their customer support is phenomenal and patient and you will frequently work with the same people so you're not bounced around to people you don't need to talk to. In terms of costs, we got sensors, motion sensors, cameras, glass break, fire and cold, panic buttons, keyfobs, keypads - nearly everything they had - and it was about $800. You can get alerts on up to 10 sensors on your app, but if you want more it's less than $5 for another 10 sensors. We pay around $34/mo. Plus, it's all on cellular network so there's no wires to cut and it runs on battery backup. No installation fees bc you do it yourself. If you're considering alarm systems, I highly recommend Link Home Security. It's one of the few that includes digital services, cameras, cellular, and listen in technology (to hear if you're in distress). We finally feel safe again. Thanks, Link Home Security! read more

I did a lot of research before deciding on a home security system. I looked into Xfinity Home, ADT, and a few other smaller outfits. I went with the Link system through Costco because it offered a great deal for the price. Link is basically an Alarm.com dealer, a cellular-based alarm and home automation system, completely wireless (except for the control panel, which needs to be plugged in). No wired sensors or professional installation necessary! The system itself cost about $200, including the motion sensor, 3 sensors, wireless thermostat, 3 door/window sensors, smoke/heat detector, and 2 lighting modules, and is practically infinitely expandable. If you don't mind self-installation, it's a truly excellent system. Every component can be monitored through smartphone, tablet, or computer. My favorite part is the thermostat, which is every bit as good as the Nest thermostat, if not better. Maybe not as slick (not designed by Apple), but has all the functionality at a fraction of the price. It can be automated based on your (phone's) location, and can be controlled remotely. I had one false alarm, which was my fault. But I was called and texted promptly when it happened, so now I know the system works. In short, I'm very happy so far. read more

Originally had ADT scheduled for an install, until the technician told me some things that changed my mind. I was thankful for his honesty. Link Home Security was a breeze. Took us all of 45 minutes to install and set up our own system. Plus, I love how easy the cell phone APP is to use from anywhere in the world. I have been doing online research of security systems for months and finally tripped on an online review of Link Interactive via Costco. This is the best of all worlds - DIY installation with professional monitoring. I love, love, love how much I can configure everything. I love that the Control Panel is also a Z Wave Controller, so I now have the beginning of a smart home - starting with my connected thermostat. I have installed window or door sensors, two interior cameras, one exterior camera, two additional motion detectors. I will add a few more things on later, but I can't believe the features and functionality. I purchased Link Interactive services through Costco. All of the equipment is actually 2GIG or Alarm.com. I access my entire system through Alarm.com. The price through Costco is amazing! I compared my experience to a co-worker who has the identical equipment through Vivent. She is sick with jealousy at the better prices - and the fact that I installed it all myself! I only needed to call Link once to activate, but did everything myself with the online support instructions. I could not be any happier. Actually, I could be very slightly happier - I seriously wish that their camera equipment was offered in black. I have one camera in the middle of my AV equipment which is all black, so the white camera is really obvious. I actually spray painted my exterior camera so that it didn't stick out! This company is an absolute nightmare. They locked us into a three-year contract, but they don't help you with installation or technological problems- all they can do is send replacements... and they close every holiday!!! And weekends!!! Also, multiple items went out or off the rails. I had a security alarm go off repeatedly at 4 AM for no reason...When nobody's in the office to help me!!! One time, it happened when my husband was deployed and I was locked in my bedroom with my kids thinking that there was an intruder and called 911... And it was just faulty equipment!!! It happened again while the officers were at my home and I felt absolutely stupid. But once again, I couldn't call Link Interactive for help because it was too early in the morning... Then, one Thanksgiving holiday, my fire alarms started having problems and called the fire department... when I wasn't home and there wasn't so much a wife of smoke... This continued to happened so frequently over the next few days that the fire department threatened to bill me. When Link Interactive finally opened after their Thanksgiving holiday (closed again), they sent a replacement for the fire alarms, apologizing for their faulty equipment... and then they turned around and billed me for it!!! Finally, at the end of my three years, I set my contract up to cancel on New Year's Day. Well, the company closes on New Year's day, so at 5:30pm.... Right after closing time on New Year's Eve... And a few hours before my contract was supposed to expire... All of my Security electronics started going off!!! My fire alarm went off, my window alarms went off, my door alarms- everything!! We would turn them off and they will come right back on!!! But, again, the company was CLOSED and wouldn't take any call!!! I felt like they were punishing me for canceling my contract. It was absolutely ridiculous. So yeah, I had a really terrible, three year experience with this company. Three years. I just set up my alarm system with link interactive and I have had a great experience with the customer service. First, I did a lot of research on home security systems. Link had the best prices, and their technology is advanced and synced to my smart phone. I never felt pressured by Link to make a decision. I spoke with Jose Sandoval many times and he calmly answered all my questions before I made a decision. Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with Ashley Coles, who did all my sensor testing remotely and stayed on the phone with me until we got it all down. She was very knowledgable and patient. When I tried out one of my alarms later in the day, I immediately got a person from the central station call through the panel and ensure everything was ok. The 2 way communication through the panel is great. I definitely feel safe with this system, and the customer service has been stellar! Moved into a new home and wanted to have a monitored home security system. Researched several from the big name nationals to a couple of local companies. The big name national companies had very slick sales people but the Yelp reviews that I found were less than great and a few were downright scary. Two of the local companies had 5 star reviews but the cost was significantly higher. Then I checked out Costco. They are affiliated with Link Interactive, which is a national company. They sell a do-it-yourself wireless alarm. You can make it as basic or as complex as you like. I chose something closer to the basic system. Being the least handy man on earth, I was a bit apprehensive about the DIY aspect. I was wrong to worry. It is peel and stick, very easy. And very fast. The Costco discount saves you a lot (more than covers the cost of a one year membership). The monthly monitoring is $29.99 - less than anyone else I contacted. But the cost and the ease of installation were not the best part of it. Dealing with the folks at Link is a real pleasure. When you call for support (I did mention that I am not very handy), a real person answers - not a long menu. And you speak to someone in Ogden Utah, not New Delhi. Only have it for a few weeks, but so far, I am a fan. read more

This is really frustrating if you work during the day and can't get through to customer service. Each time I called I was on hold for thirty minutes only in the end of waiting get a recording that I had to leave my name and they would call back. The system was extremely easy to install. It took me probably less than 2 hours to get it wired up and configured. Debbie has been a pleasure to work with. She has been extremely helpful in getting my system configured and working the way i want it. The iphone app works great, and its so easy to use. I found Link Interactive like everyone on Costco's website. My contract was going to be up in a month or so, I wanted to get a head start shopping for a new alarm system. My previous alarm company could not match the price of Link Interactive monthly monitoring fees. So I decided to switch over to Link Interactive. Link was by far the best option for monitoring. I researched the self-monitored options, but none of them guaranteed response if my power went out, my internet went down or I was out of cell service. Installation couldn't have been any easier and the panel is as easy to use as an iPhone. The best part is accessing my cameras, thermostat, door locks and lights remotely. SUPER handy when I travel (vacation or work). Best value out there for Alarm.com services. I also thought for the low price I'd get the standard customer 'no service'. NOT SO! Extremely responsive people on the phones and anytime my alarm goes off, they've responded within seconds. I looked at their A+ BBB rating before buying too. Well worth the investment of money and a little time on 1 weekend for installation. read more
