I would not call anybody and I did call off the Internet and it turned into a total nightmare. I got in a fight with one of the guys he was not a locksmith. He was a door handle changer. I think the art of locksmith is probably dying like everything else nothings in art anymore. They just want to change change change and charge charge charge . So it's your fault if you don't call VICS keys!!!!! I would not call anybody else the service was outstanding the price was even more outstanding. I was in sticker shock. I couldn't believe it. I asked her to put more on the bill if she could, but she couldn't. I bought new door locks for my whole house and took them in to have them all keyed alike. The gentleman helping knew basked on the SKU # only one out of the five I brought in needed to be rekeyed. He could have totally taken advantage of the situation but did not and that is a true sign of class. I also needed a rather large safe moved from the garage to the basement and was quoted a great price compared to others I had contacted. They showed up on time got my safe where I needed it with zero damage to the safe or the house and then knocked $50 off the total because it was not as difficult as they had expected. I've stopped by Vic's a couple of times for odd keys. They haven't had what I have needed on any of my visits. This place is a throwback to about 1976 and what it lacks in cleanliness and organization it makes up for in character. If you need a key cut, this probably isn't your place. I'm not sure what their specialty is and there isn't much sign of action going on in the place, just a couple people yelling at each other behind the counter about who's job it is to help the customer at the counter. They must have a specialty as Vic's has been here forever. I'd say give them a shot if your other options have been exhausted. read more

I went to Vic's a few months back for some help with multiple lock issues. I am giving them this rating because they did a great job and their prices are very reasonable. The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars, is because the place is an absolute crap hole of a building and I felt like I was going to get jumped the whole entire time I was there. Also, you often have to interrupt their smoke breaks when you need help and you're lucky if they'll even put out their cigs before helping you. When i'm talking to someone in close proximity and detailing the issue i'm having with a lock, It's not pleasant to get the puffs of smoke in the face the whole time. read more

Thank you Vic's!!!!! I have a couple of apartment complexes and have used them for years after having many, many bad experiences elsewhere. I have boxes of bad keys from other places that have not worked I have no bad keys from Vic's. They will come and rekey my locks at short notice and they always work. We took a candy machine to have a new lock put on it, 4 months later the work is not done our machine is buried in his shop and vic was unkind! We went on several occasions to pick it up, he never called us even though our number is sitting on the machine, and beat around the bush everytime! Early Saturday morning. Locked keys in the car. I was just going down the list of lock smiths. Vic's was the only one that answered. I felt bad because I woke the guy up. But! He didn't complain he got to my house quickly and took care of the problem. Best of all the price was very reasonable. My son locked his keys in his car a while back. he used a different service and got screwed. Quoted one price when they got done his price was very different than what was quoted. I definitely recommend Vic's for all locksmith work. I am sure I will use them again. A couple months ago, I needed a specialty key cut. Nobody else seemed to have the blank, but someone pointed me to Vic's. They cut me two replacement keys on the spot for short money. (By the looks of their shop, there is a good chance that ANYTHING you need is likely to be in stock). Recently I changed my cleaning service and wanted to re-key my vacation home in Huntsville. This time I called them from the East Coast. They were able to remotely cut keys for the existing locks, then head up to Huntsville the next day and re-key my house.
