The part arrived today and Caesar came back ASAP and began working on reinstalling the new system on the door. Understand that it was quite an ordeal and it took him a lot longer than either of us thought it would. He finished the work and stated that there would be a labor charge for the installation. The part I prepaid seem expensive, but... I agreed, he came back and that price had doubled... After all was said and done the total I paid was $981.88! YIKES! I contacted Emtek and asked them for the MSRP of the product they installed. The MSRP for the unit from the factory is $311! Yes, you will pay more than you would in the kiosk at Wally World but there are several things they can do here that cannot be done in a kiosk. Bent / broken keys - they can usually cut them. They still have the old machines that allow the tech to apply his craft and cut broken or bent keys. The big boxes cannot do that. Re-keying - They do this. It's a nominal fee but they will do it and do it right. Odd keys - They have them and they cut them without any issues. The round, barrel keys, etc, that the big boxes don't have are in stock here. These guys are good to deal with. I've had several odd ball keys cut here and watched their service with other folks as well. They save you money and try and repair what you have before trying to sell you brand new. Need keys and locks? This is your shop.

Luckily, I had my tablet and was able to search for a locksmith and I am VERY grateful that it was Salt Lake Jake's that came up. I was able to email him, and he actually emailed back in less than an hour, understood that was my only communication, and let me know his timetable of arrival. Once he arrived, he was very reassuring, as I am a mobile, but physically disabled person, and explained everything he was going to do. Including extracting the broken end of my key and creating a new one from the broken pieces.
