ISO new internet provider so first off I tried the "chat" for customer service on their website. All I wanted to know is if they offered 80mbps where I live. They wanted a ton of unnecessary personal info before answering my question. Next, I called their CS Line. The CS rep answered and asked for my name. I gave him my first name and told him my question. When he asked for my personal info I gave my address and zip code as this was the only info necessary to answer my question. When I wouldn't give him anything else he hung up on me. I called again and asked to speak to the on duty manager. I was calm and polite with the reps answer of "he's not working today how can I help". I asked my question and when he asked for my info I told him all he needed was my address to answer the question. I guess my tone changed because he threatened to hang up and BLOCK MY PHONE NUMBER!!! I tried to explain my position as I was not a customer yet and felt it wasn't necessary to share my personal info for such a simple question. He continued to yell and talk over me .....I politely told him they lost my business over this and to Go Fuck Himself!!!! I wish I could take stars away when in comes to Centurylink. One star is being extremely generous. Their website is barely functional, their customer service is in serious need of training, and their products are grossly overpriced. They charge just under $70 for 100mb when I can get up to gigabit speeds for around the same price with other providers. Centurylink just isn't worth it on any level. read more

After the modem was swapped, the internet has been running just fine. It is fast as it should be.

Worst service ever! I send back my equipment I have a tracking number and a reference number and I was told that that's not a valid tracking number where I can track it on ups! Then I called to talk with a customer service rep and he hung up on me because I said I had a reference number. Never again will I get service through them!!!! read more

Tried to set up a new account and it was an incredible scary nightmare. The technician didn't show up on on the schedule day and time and we were not notified. We called that evening and after 2 hours and 23 minutes on the phone, the best they could do for us was to reschedule for the following Monday. I called the next day to see if we could get an earlier installation date, but instead I was transferred because they had opened several accounts. The story continues, but ultimately, if this is how they treat there new customers, I don't think I want to be their customer. There are more affordable options. read more

If yelp offered a lower rating a would have chosen this for Century Link. They are hands down one of the worst company I have ever dealt with. The old adage​ of, "you get what you pay for" comes to mind. They lure you in with their low rate of $21.99 per month, which is a great rate, but what you cannot fully appreciate​ at the time you sign up is just how absolutely​ poor their internet service is and how absolutely terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE their customer service and billing departments are​. I have never felt compelled to go online​ and give a negative review on a company until now. From day one my billing was screwed up and it was the case every single month.​ I would have to call CL every other month and have the same conversation with them about how my bill was double what it should be. They would say, "We see the problem and we will go ahead and issue you a credit that will appear​ on your next billing cycle" but it NEVER would show up!!! So you would have to call again the next month and be placed on hold for another hour and then explain the whole thing over again. I finally canceled​ my service with them because of the extremely poor service and was told I the credit amount that was still owing to my account would be trued up on my last bill. I canceled​ my service, waited for my last bill, and guess what..... you guessed it, no credit was applied. So I called Century Link upon receiving my last bill, gave them the case number from ​two months ago that referenced the credit amount I was to be issued and the customer service rep said they had no record of ​any credit being issued and the case number I gave them was not valid. How convenient. No matter how hard I fought and no matter what I said, they would not give me any consideration whatsoever​. I even spoke to a supervisor, Tiffany, out of Denver and she was absolutely​ unwilling to do anything​g to whatsoever to help. Some things in life are worth paying more for ​and in this case, I would absolutely pay anyone, and I mean anyone, more $$ for their service than to deal with Century Link. I will spare all the readers their time and not go into detail about the incredibly slow speeds​ I got with their service as well. Dial up would have been faster at peak times than the speads I was getting. How are these people even in business is a mystery to me. I would not ever do business with Century Link ever!!! although the field service with CL has been very good, the administration of sales, billing, and customer service has to be some combination of doing business with kindergarteners and dictators! i would not sign up with CL again and am considering going back to Comcast. I recently canceled my Century Link service. I had been a customer for about 6-7 years. Last July I moved and when I called CenturyLink to move my service, for some reason the agent said she had to close my old account and open a new one. I didn't understand why, but she said that was my only option. After we had moved in, I was still being billed on my old account as well as my new one, among other fees I incurred for having both accounts. I called and spoke to a Supervisor of some sort. She was really confused as well as to why the agent had set me up with a new account. She took care of my billing issues and sent me a Visa gift card for all the inconvenience. We recently decided to switch internet providers and close our CenturyLink account. When I called and talked to someone, he told me there would be a $200 cancellation fee because we were still in our two year contract (showing me as a new customer in July 2017, rather than showing that I had been a customer for over 6-7 years). When I explained the situation he said there was nothing he could do to waive the fee. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was placed on hold for 25 minutes to then be disconnected. I called back and talked to four different people before being transferred to the finance department. The man on the phone said that the most I would be charged for "early termination" would be $125 (so, clearly I can see that CenturyLink doesn't have their story straight) but upon further review, he said I would only be charged $40. At this point I was so annoyed and frustrated that I agreed to pay an early termination fee of $40 even when all of this was an error on CenturyLink's part anyways. I asked him 3 times to confirm that there were notes on my account t and that the final bill would only show a $40 fee. He confirmed. Today, I received my final bill. $200 termination fee. I can't call anyone because it is Saturday and a holiday weekend. The folks on chat told me to contact the finance department (again) next week. CenturyLink, this is precisely why I have chosen to leave. One agent says one thing and another says something different. I am upset that I now have to waste more of my time fixing a mistake that even your own employees have admitted was a mistake and have compensated me for as an apology for the inconvenience! I have spent several hours of my life on the phone with these people that I will never get back. They have screwed up my account more times than they have done anything right. When I moved I had to cancel my prism because they didn't offer it where I was going. Of course I was still being billed for it. My bills have never been right in the two years I have had them. I sent my equipment back and I still haven't been credited for it. My internet speed sucks. My son-in-law spent over 2 hours on the phone with tech support telling them how to make our speeds faster for gaming which is ludicrous considering they should know how to fix this. Then they failed to bill me for 3 months of DirecTV and loaded it onto one of my bills and blamed it on DirecTV. When I call them, they just keep transferring me and transferring me until I get disconnected. Since November I still have not had a resolution to any of my issues. My bill states I owe $1,400. Nobody in this company can ever help me. I have been disputing my bill and yet they threaten me with collections if I don't pay. I am going to file complaints with every single agency I can which I'm sure won't do a damn thing except make me feel better. CenturyLink, go get stuffed! read more

I would choose 0 stars if that was an option. Century Link provides the worst customer service ever. They tell you that you are getting one price, then give you another. When you try to cancel your service because you never agreed to what they are charging, they slam you with early termination fees. Their supervisors don't care about you. Their customer support representatives don't care about you. No one ever knows what is going on and you are going to have to wait on hold for 45 minutes just to be told that they have no idea. It doesn't matter how long you have been an account holder, they won't help you at all. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH CENTURY LINK. Seriously, do yourself a favor and sign up with ANY other provider. PLEASE! Also, be careful of the mysterious contracts that they enroll you in without your signatures or authorization! You will regret using them, I promise. read more

One Star is TOO many! This service is the biggest nightmare we have ever experienced. DONT DO IT!!!!! We had Comcast Triple play but the price keeps going up, it was almost $300/mo so time to do something. We were talked into this by a Dircect TV rep at the Home Show, BIG MISTAKE! He promised Direct TV and Century Link phone and internet at 40Mbs (we had 50 w comcast) for $99/mo including routers and only $20 total installation. Too good to be true-YES. We are normally very skeptical about these offers but he persisted and swore thats all it was. Direct TV installed almost immediately but Century link took a couple weeks. When they came, they istalled the wrong phone #, left a wire across our lawn-still there, sent a broken router that has to be restarted whenever you are off the computer for more than a hour! Finally got a "new upgraded" model that still drops and at best gets 10 Mbs. Couldnt get the phone to work so they finally sent a rep out who DESTROYED our home link box in utility room, disconnected all phone lines except the kitchen and did nothing but complain about how Comcast "Jerry rigs" everything! I'm furious!! At least Comcast worked!!! Now I have no choice but to have this hidious modum and green wires all over my kitchen desk in order to have anything slightly work! I can't believe they are even in business with this kind of service!!! Century Link is dispicable! Stay away, I guess I'm crawling back to Comcast! read more
