Puretone is a lifesaver! I got my daughter a Squire Strat for Hanukkah. I ordered it way in advance…read morefrom Fender but it took an unusually long time arriving. When it arrived, I could see it needed a good setup and some light fretwork. The tuners didn't inspire confidence and I found the ceramic humbuckers sounded a touch bright. Also, the guitar my daughter originally wanted was the Tom Morello start because of the mirror pickguard. I ordered a new pickguard, Seymour Duncan alnico humbuckers and locking tuners. I tried Alamo Music first and they said they could do the work for 350 and it would take three weeks. Hanukkah was a week away! Then I went to Puretone and they did the work in one week for over 200 bucks less! The neck feels great! The pickups sound great! It looks amazing! My daughter loves her guitar. She kisses it before she puts it away! Thank you Puretone for making this Hanukkah special.

When we showed up last Friday we were there just as they were unlocking the doors. The employee said we could look around while he finished opening as opposed to waiting outside. We gave the employee the guitar and a strap nut to install and took off school shopping. A few hours later Davin called and said it was ready. We were done so early I was going to be able to pick up lunch for the wife and the rest of the kids! We show up to pick up the guitar and the strap nut is exactly where my son wanted it. The action was lowered and sounded perfect. The kicker was the bill. Davin said it was a quick job and that he liked the Washburn, so he said no charge. Another review said that all they had were Fender guitars, but we played with several really nice Ibanez guitars as well. I'll add some pictures we took, my boy added one to his Christmas list.

I decided to trial their "master" level instrument with the possibility of moving up to the "professional" level. But when I get the the checkout form, they are asking for the last 4 digits of your social security number? I don't think this is an outright scam, but it Is nuts to ask for this information for an instrument rental, and I have never come across this before (in renting anything!). Beware of this shop.

There was no damage or anything, but it just didn't play right. I brought it to San Antonio so I could noodle around with it in my hotel room and finally decided to find someone to take a look at it. I found Marco on Yelp and the reviews looked good. I met Marco at his shop and pointed out the issues. He quickly identified the problem and gave me a very reasonable quote. When I picked up the guitar, it was perfect. He fixed the problem and gave it a good cleaning and polish. It looks better than it has in a decade. Marco is friendly, provides excellent customer service, has reasonable prices, quick turnaround and is extremely flexible with scheduling. After about 3 days I was called and was told that they could not figure it out, as signal was not passing through. I was referred to another guitar tech in the area and so I reached out. They called me back and told me that unfortunately, wiring was not their strong suit, but they knew a guy that was the right person for the job. Thus I was referred to Marco. I texted Marco and asked about repairing my Jaguar. He responded right away with photos of other wiring work he had done as well as many other similar fenders he had rebuilt and rewired. I knew I had found the right person. So I met with him at his shop and showed him my Jag. First off he knew what each switch did as well as some subtle tweaks that he could do to the Jag that would make it play even better than stock. Marco had it about 2 days before he started sending me photos and videos of the completed work, as well as one of him playing the Jaguar to demonstrate all the functionalities of the switches, to which I had never been educated on. I told Marco how appreciative I was that he brought new life to my father's guitar. He WAS/IS the right person for the job and I will ALWAYS go to him for any other wiring work. His rates were very fair and the value that I received was exceptional! Thank you Marco! I'll bring you my Ric 360 next!!
