When my husband asked if they were open, the guy said they're open all day (in a um duh kinda way). My husband responded with well, last week you were closed for a tournament. Not a good first impression before we even step into the building. We arrived to bowl around 4:45 pm and were lucky to get a lane immediately. For some reason the lane was only available for 45 minutes but that was a good enough time for our family of three. I think we should've been charged a bit less because we were charged for the full hour. Now let's get to the actual bowling experience. It was my daughter's first time bowling so we were glad they had smaller bowling balls, the ball ramp, and guard rails. Overall, we had a good bowling experience even though we lost on purpose so our daughter wouldn't get so pissy LOL. 3.5 stars because the phone call and full charge for less than an hour.

The five pin bowling is in the basement next to the Tavola restaurant. It is a little older than some of the 'big box' bowling places around but has ~14 lanes, some pinball machines, nice shoes, and it was a perfect Friday night out with our two young kids. They have guard rails and small bowling shoes for them which added to their excitement. It's licensed and they serve some snacks but we did not stay long enough to try anything. It was really clean and organized. Loved that they had the glow in the dark/disco bowling. The other lanes were occupied by large groups of kids (birthday?) and other families out for some fun. I'd definitely go back....a bit more interactive than our regular movie night.

They also have the Orbit Café and Bar inside for pizza, wings, snacks, and drinks while you play. Up to 6 people can play on each lane and you can play for 1, 2 or even 3 hours. You also need to rent bowling shoes and return them on your way out. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The vibe is very lively and fun.

Pure bowling review here…read more This place is one of the last remaining actual bowling spots for me. Every other spot in the GTA has been swallowed up by the likes of Splitsville or Ballroom Bowling and turned into an arcade. Makes sense as its where the money is but as someone still enjoying a bit more of a serious bowling spot, I really value a place like Planet Bowl where they open early, don't bother with the disco stuff and maintain good oil and lane conditions. Their early bird special from open to noon is just $23.95 an hour, a farcry from the over $50 an hour the other places charge. Great to see a place sticking to their roots here.

You have two teams, 5 bumber cars each, trying to score on each other's target across a court, with a lacrosse-type scoop and ball. It's $275 + tax per hour. There were many dirty tables and several guests seated without food, and it was clear they were understaffed. We waited about 30 minutes before anyone came to our table. We had to flag someone down to ask who our server was. When someone tried to take our order, our assigned server stepped in but did not acknowledge or apologize for the wait, even though she had walked past us multiple times. Our mains arrived before the appetizers. My order was incorrect and had to be sent back. The person I was with was also given the wrong steak and shrimp plate and started eating it before we were told it belonged to another table. Later, my corrected meal came out and it was still wrong a second time, so I had to send it back again. When the bill arrived, we were charged the higher price for the incorrect steak and shrimp dish without being advised of the price difference. At no point were the multiple mistakes acknowledged or apologized for. The food itself was decent, but the service completely overshadowed the experience. Based on this visit, I would not return.
