I told them that I also ran tests that said hardware problems were detected. They called me and said the operating system had to be reinstalled. Fine, I guess maybe I was wrong I'm not a scientist when it comes to pc's. I pick it up and now I can turn it on, but I CANT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING. Not even chrome, I run a hardware check and see it's detecting hardware problems. I asked the guy if there was hardware problems and he said no. I paid over 200$ for this service. 90$ of that which was ONLY FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC THAT THEY DIDNT EVEN DO RIGHT THEN CHARGED ME ANOTHER 160$ TO REINSTALL MY OPERATING SYSTEM. When I returned to pick them up, he charged me a service charge for each computer, and he never even opened them. He opened one of them and checked it out, but knowing they were all dead for the same reason he didn't bother with the other two. He took them knowing he couldn't fix them, and never even put a screwdriver to them, to look inside. He offered to discard them for me, because they're harmful to the environment to throw away. Instead, I was told I might need a whole new PC and that the turnaround would take 5-6 days--unless I paid a $100 rush fee just to get in line with 12 other people. On top of that, there was a diagnostic fee of $30-$50, plus repair costs starting at $500 and up. At that point, it felt more like a cash grab than a genuine repair service. Frustrated, I looked elsewhere and found a tech on Craigslist who charged a straightforward $50 per hour. He came to my place, diagnosed the issue, and identified the necessary part. Since he was a mobile tech and I caught him at the end of his shift, he had to order it. The part arrived two days later, and while I was able to install it myself, he was readily available to help if needed. In the end, I saved both time and money by going with a more transparent and reliable option. Safe to say, I won't be returning to this shop. I've included photos of the error messages I got when my cpu messed up. Not in correct order but the black screen was the final message prompting me to go into the repair shop.
