My tow truck driver was Scott. Very nice guy. I was glad to hear he had years of experience doing his job, before Arizona he was towing cars in NYC. My car is slightly difficult to tow because it's lowered but Scott was able to get under my car with no issues. The time we rolled out was the peek of traffic in Phoenix, he knew the right back roads and got my car and myself home fairly quick. Thank you Scott and Central towing . Needed to tow my Crown Vic to a shop some 23 miles away when the A/C compressor clutch bearing seized. Called USAA roadside, they tried to dispatch another tow company (rhymes with, uh, Hilarity and has 1.5 stars). When their ETA came and went, I cancelled and decided to do it myself. Central had the best rating here in Yelperland, so I called them. Pro: arrived 10 minutes earlier than promised; driver was very good and careful while on the road and did a great job of securing the car on the deck. Con: the driver was pretty much unintelligible (think Fenster in The Usual Suspects); he wanted me to drive my car, with its seized compressor, up onto the truck's deck; I had to repeatedly jump up and down into the car to manipulate the shifter and parking brake during loading; the driver had no idea how to get where we were going and wanted to go in the opposite direction to get to an irrelevant highway until I gave him explicit directions (why he didn't use his phone's nav app is beyond me); finally, he tried to drop me at the wrong shop, next door to the one I told him. Summary: we got where we were going in a reasonable amount of time for a slightly painful price and with irritation at departure and arrival. Considering the state of the towing business, I suppose that's about all we can expect. read more

Was directed to central towing through my insurance company and can see why they use them. Francisco did an amazing job. My keys had been stolen and so my car needed to be towed to the dealership to program a new key and it was not easy getting my car out of the garage. 1. Could not get my car into neutral because no key. 2. I park very close to the house because we have a tight garage and need walking space so it was very difficult to get my car out without breaking anything but he was patient and very friendly. Also he took the time to do the job correctly and not just rush out of there. Best part he sent me a text of my car in its parking spot when it got to the dealership. I would like to share the terrible experience I had with an employee of this company. I was stranded at a gas station due to my puppy jumping on the lock button and locking me out of my car while I pumped gas. I was so relieved when I saw a central towing truck happen to pull into the gas station. I approached the short bald man and asked him if he could assist me in getting into my car as I was locked out. He ignored me as he filled his thirst buster and I had to repeat myself three times even though it was evident he was deliberately ignoring me. He responded to me in a rude manner and asked for proof that it was my vehicle and so I answered him quite distressed explaining that my dog was in the car and my purse. In an unprovoked abrasive tone, he then began to verbally attack me for "leaving my dog in the car" and that the police should come because that's against the law and I should be arrested. I was in a horrible state of mind already, worried for my dog and I could not believe that this employee I had approached for assistance was bulldozing me when I was obviously distraught about the situation I was in. He humiliated me and all I could do was stop the conversation with him which was going nowhere. He then replied, "no sweat of my back" and continued his way. Whomever this person is, is a terrible employee because I was essentially a customer in need of services and a horrible uncompassionate person for knowing I needed emergency help because my poor dog a LIVE ANIMAL was trapped in my locked car in this heat. The level of unprofessionalism displayed by this employee was outrageously disrespectful and dangerous due to the time sensitivity of the matter. I will say that I called the company and spoke to a supervisor who truly made me feel heard and assured me that the appropriate disciplinary action would be taken. It is unfortunate that this employee is out and about representing this company that has gotten such good reviews on here. read more

From the moment they answered the phone I felt better, Selena was awesome she gave us a great price and worked well with our tight schedule, she said 45 minutes to an hour and I thought ok we will see, and BAM 50 minutes later Francisco shows up! First the tow truck was two hours late. Then the tow truck driver recommended me to a "reputable and fair priced mechanic". The mechanic was obviously a friend to him but since I'm not native to Phx and I was obviously distressesed. His mechanic was not either reputable the store barely looked legal and his prices we not cheap. I ended up calling a different tow truck service and having my car serviced by a mechanic I was able to do through research on. Do yourself a favor and never use this service. read more

After calling my car roadside assistance carrier at least 5 times and couldn't get my location right (I was in a shopping center at Central & Missouri-not hard to find), I gave up after an hour and a half of this confusion and called Central Towing. Told him where I was said they would be by in 15 minutes. Guy was friendly, fast and got me in my way and it was almost half the price of my insurance. read more

I had called my insurance company to provide me with a tow when my car did not start due to my starter. They provided me with an eta of 1 hour. Well an hour goes by and no one has showed up or giving me the courtesy of a phone call. I then call to see how much longer they will be they said 10 minutes. Another 30 minutes go by I called back she then told me 4 minutes. He got there in about 10 minutes. He then tells us that sometimes a starter can be "fixed" for the moment by using a metal rod and pressing down on the starter and then turning in the car. Which didn't work. Then when he brings it to the shop our mechanic tells us that when he pressed down on the starter he broke off the oil pressure sensor connector. This guy damaged out car. If I were you I would look else where for a towing company. read more

What I also loved about them was that they charged one flat fee, where most other towing companies charge a flat fee and then an additional $5 per mile! I find that annoying and frustrating! Last week my daughters car broke down on the way to school. She had to leave it in a neighborhood until we could meet a tow later in the evening. Our insurance company set up a tow and I was there to meet them at the time I was told only for them to never show up. The insurance set up another company (central towing) and I was a bit sour because I had to come back later. I couldn't be happier that central towing is the one I ended up with. Freddy called to let me know that he was on his way and he instantly turned a bad day around just with how friendly he was. He was very aware of others in the busy grocery store parking lot where my car was stranded. Two times he had to deal with others not looking and almost driving into his very clean large tow truck. When it's a 115° outside and your car breaks down the last thing you want to encounter is a rude person with a language barrier. I asked the driver what he needed from me, he was short, rude and rolled his eyes at me like it was my fault for asking him to do his job. I told him where in my complex that he would be able to park my car. Half hour later he was at my complex in the area where he couldn't leave me car, I asked him to move the truck to where it could be left. He kept telling me "This is the address! This is the address!" And I said yes but this is a large complex and I need you to move the car to another area. So after arguing with him for 5 minutes he finally moved my car. When I asked for a copy of the work order he refused to give it to me stating my insurance needed it, never had any other company refused to give me a copy. I called my road side assistance provider and let them know what had happened and they confirmed that I should of been given a copy of the work order and filed a complaint on my behalf. Hopefully no one else stranded on the side of the road has to deal with such unprofessional people. read more

My car's steering wheel and ignition had locked, and the previous tow truck could not tow my car since the I could not shift to neutral. The guy calls another guy, we wait a while and then Francisco shows up. He not only gets my car onto his tow truck, he also helped open the gate to where we were dropping off my car. My car broke down and my insurance company called Central Towing. The tow truck driver showed up and had trouble communicating with me. He didn't know english very well. He attempted to back up to pick up my car and ended up backing up and HITTING my car. The driver didn't even apologize but responded along the lines of: "Take pictures I guess, I'll call my manager." He provided absolutely no documentation not even his name. He didn't even have a business card for Central Towing, the company he worked for. He handed me a phone with a man named "Mike" (no last name) to resolve the issue. Mike said he would fix the damage at a body shop he knew of. Mike also said he owns and operates a Napa Autocare Center and since my car had broken down he would diagnose the problem and fix it if it was in his capabilities, or help me find someone that could fix my car. Mike had my car in his care for 4 days, during that time I had to rent a car paid for out of my own pocket. When I went to pick up my car from Mike, the body damage had been fixed but he didn't check any damage beyond that. The area where the tow truck hit my car was the lower front bumper. Located just behind the lower front bumper is my intercooler. I asked him if he checked my intercooler with a pressure check and he said no. Mike said I could tell if my boost was low by the boost readings, but my Volvo doesn't have a boost gauge so I would never really know. As for the repairs on my car, Mike diagnosed my car with a bad fuel pump control module which he quoted $800 for the part if it was new or $400 used. I was hesitant with installing a used computer in my car so I called the Volvo of Tempe dealership and they quoted me $361 (my price) for a new fuel pump control module. Mike said the fuel pump control module is located in the front kick panel on the driver side and needs to be programmed. The fuel pump control module on my 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T is located by the fuel tank in the rear of the car and the dealership said there is no programming needed. I am still unsure exactly what Mike was talking about. I believe Mike was referring to the ecm, the quotes he gave me match the pricing for an ecm. When Mike got my car from the body shop he told me he spent 20 minutes reprogramming the computer and my car worked. He then test drove my car with no problems and called me to tell me my car was done. When I picked up my car, Mike DID NOT provide me with any documentation that my car was in his shop for 4 days. He did, however, brazenly recommend a repair for a crankcase kit, which was repaired by Tanner Motors earlier this year in January. Mike told me when I start up my car it now hesitates for a second and then will run. According to Mike he currently didn't know why it was hesitating or what was initially wrong with my car but what he thought had happened is that the computer needs to be reprogrammed because sometimes the computer drops the programming. He told me to my face that this was a one time occurrence and it would not happen again. Mike stated that if I have any problems come back to him. I left and drove 1/2 mile down the street and my car chugged/sputtered and the check engine light came on. As instructed, I immediately drove it back to the shop where Mike said to me he is under no obligation to repair my car. He said that my car didn't start when he got it, and now it "runs" and I should be happy he didn't charge me. I said that my car never hesitated on start up and his response was, "Well, I didn't know that." Mike did not spent the time to help me fix my car because he owns 2 1/2 businesses and doesn't have the time to do a complete professional job. Mike put a bandaid on the problem and got me out the door so he didn't have to make a insurance claim for his inept, no-name employee that hit my car. To the reader: 1) I would NEVER recommend Central Towing for any auto services you need. Any company that employs a driver that does not provide their full name and information in an auto accident does not deserve any business. 2) The way I was introduced to Central Towing was through my insurance provider. CALL YOUR INSURANCE PROVIDER and tell them to never call or refer Central Towing for any road side assistance. 3) I would NEVER recommend Mike's Auto Repair, owned by Mike Higuera, who is the operator of Central Towing, for any repairs or assistance. read more
