First of all let me say the guy showed up 45 mins late after we made a scheduled pickup so that got things off on the wrong foot. Then I was quoted $7 a mile which would of put my tow at $133.00 for a 19 mile trip which I was fine with but was charged $275.000. Absolutely insane and a total scam but I was in a jam and they new it and bent me over for it and only told me that when the bill came but truck was already strapped and loaded. He also gave me a general timeline when I can expect someone. He said that they were just finishing up a job. Once I registered, confirmation was quick. Ace Flatbed Towing was the 5th towing/wrecking company we had come out to our home to try to help move a cargo trailer that had blown out of our driveway, across the road, and got embedded in a dirt bank, during a storm on 8/8/18. First, AAA came out and said they didn't have a clue as to how to help us. Another company felt the job was too 'precarious' since the road goes up a hill that has a 20% slope and is 300' high, and they didn't want to risk their rig and equipment. A couple of others couldn't navigate past the trailer to get a good angle to work on it. There were street signs, driveway pillars and plants to contend with as well, not to mention the big rocks and loose gravel that had washed into the middle of the road. The road is only 12' wide and the trailer was blocking most of it. The trailer was also leaning downhill and the tires were blocked with some cinder blocks, but the wind blew the trailer over those same blocks in the first place. We were worried that another big wind storm would send the trailer tumbling down the hill and into a neighbor's property. After reviewing photo texts, our insurance company told us it was "an act of God" and "nobody will be able to help you." What??? We persisted and insisted they do something to honor our policy and keep trying to locate assistance. Two days later, Dean Siemion, Super Hero, showed up! Man, can he drive that rig! He came up, analyzed the situation and immediately jumped in to put his plan into action. He was extremely careful about not causing any damage to our trailer or property, and he took his time expertly maneuvering and urging his equipment to un-wedge our trailer. He even took the extra time and effort to hook his rig up to our trailer and get it backed into our driveway for us so my husband didn't have to hook our truck up and do it before he had to go to work. I can't tell you how grateful we were... and impressed! Dean made the whole thing look easy - like he wasn't even challenged! But we all know he was and that he did an exceptional job. He was friendly, funny and calmed our fears, explaining each step of his actions to us as he went along.
