It was majestic and even had time to see the conductor and steam rising from its black engines as it parked on the Amtrak rails downtown. As a person who was fascinated with trains, in my 20s I had even taken a magical 3 week trip with my sister on Amtrak from Atlanta to Boston and back. Magical Memories.

The platform has a little bit of cover from rain. There is a visual board with the current time and the audible announcement of the next train gives about one minute's warning. Tickets are $1.25 and you do not want to try to ride without purchasing one or tapping your multi-ride card. I rode the Metro four or five times and each time, there was a fare checker on board. This is an *interesting* part of town. Expect at least a couple of people to ask you for money.

The next stop to the South is right where the northside becomes downtown, next to UHD and all that. This one is next to Quitman Street and it's a residential neighborhood that is served well by this brand new shiny station. I didn't realize this little neighbourhood had its own stop and it really adds something to the area.

It's above all the highways where they meet, and you can see amazing views of downtown Houston and all the surrounding area from this station, you can actually see for miles from here on a clear day.
