And this service is like ride share app, where they will pick you at the door and drop you off at the door. If you have a wheeler or in wheeler, no problems, you will get you in the vehicle safely and secure you safely. You have to qualify for the service and you have to go through an interview at the main building in downtown. I really appreciation the Metro Lift as it let me be independent on going to places in Houston safely and not relying on family or friends all the time. The downtown main building is also the Downtown Transit Center. You can also buy your Metro Lift paper ticket here and get a new ID here. Also getting my lost item back was painless and easy.

But it's still a 4 star service, and when my car is out of action I'm very grateful for it. I wrote 2 different reviews for this, so here's the longer other one. Respect my transit authority! I know some would say I would be better off riding the Metrosexual Transit Authority, but I felt comfortable on this bus service too. Not literally comfortable though, because holy lack of suspension, batman. I've had a few bad experiences since the first time I thought Houston buses deserve a 5 star rating, but I'm still very grateful for them every time my car isn't working. Like I said before: Still one of the better bus services in the country. I've ridden NYC, LA, DC, Boston, Miami, and a ton more I can't even think of, and Houston is up there with my favourites. It's not as cheap as I think it should be, but then most bus services in major cities aren't. One of the best features of the Houston Metro is the awesome train that runs from the University area to downtown and if they could expand that to other parts of the city it'd be even better. Also Houston could use a really extensive subway system to ease the loads on its overstuffed highways. Most of the drivers are super friendly (and hit on my friend a lot, but then her pink hair is part of it), most of the buses are on time, and they send text updates to tell you when the bus is going to be along. I did have a couple of very aggressive bus drivers lately, but that's to be expected.

Unlike my experience on the Red Line, the Purple shares a lane of traffic in each direction with cars and on a busy day as it was today, the train does not get you there any faster than simply walking. The station is a side platform on Capitol Street on Rusk Street between Fannin Street and San Jacinto Street. It is between Theater District (westbound) and Convention District (eastbound, towards Palm Center). The station has automated ticket kiosks and an overhead visual announcement for the next train. I didn't stick around long enough to wait for the audio as I had a baseball game to see!

We paid to park at this parking lot and take the metro to NRG stadium for the World Cup, and it was beyond worth it to get in and out of the stadium quickly without being caught in the stadium traffic. The service is quick, easy and the location is very secure. The only issue you might have is finding a parking spot nearby. I know Houston is not very public transportation friendly but every little bit helps with the traffic congestion. It is very close to the large Bus Transit center, and was our way to connect from the bus that took us from IAH airport to the Red Line, which took us to Rice University. The cost is minimal ($1.25 for unlimited rides for 3 hours), and you can buy tickets right on your smart phone. On a Saturday afternoon, the red line trains were running every 15 minutes or so. Also something to notice: there are different platforms for trains going south vs trains going north, so need to pay attention to be on the right platform (they are not connected). In our case, we needed to go South so the southern most platform was the right one to be on.

But just nothing was open, I was walking through a hallway underground, partially lit, by myself. I felt it'd be a great opportunity to get mugged- nobody was around in these empty hallways. I felt like I wasn't supposed to be down there after hours- none of the interesting looking shops, food stands or anything much was open, other than parking and restrooms. You enter through sort-of nondescript doorways to go up and down stairways to these tunnels that look like they'd be great for when it's raining, or super hot outside. They're air conditioned. I wouldn't go out of my way to see these- it's sort of like a shopping mall pedestrian walkway underground connected various buildings downtown.

This station is named after the movie The Fulton Our Stars…read more Fulton Station is not far from downtown, and does a wonderful job in providing a path into downtown and back for people who don't want to drive in or don't have cars. It's only a few stops from downtown but is far enough away where taking the train is a great idea. Usually clean, very easy to access, no security at all, which can be good or bad depending on how you look at it.

This place is really cool and I think they should offer tours for it because a lot more people are interested in trains than you would think. Well me anyway. Maybe I'm just weird. Unfortunately stepping onto their property counts as trespassing and they're very eager to let you know that. Maybe because this is a low-income area. I wouldn't expect quite that many signs if this thing were in The Woodlands. But welcome to humanity. Anyway if they ever start giving tours I might raise them to four stars.
