Tuna Melt with cheese, apple slices, and a side of sweet potato fries
Krista M.

I had the pleasure of dining at Central Station Restaurant with my dad last Friday evening. He ordered a seafood combination that came with a fish fry and some coconut shrimp while I opted for the tuna sandwich that had cheese and apple slices! I upgraded to sweet potato fries and they had honey on hand for me to enjoy as well. The service was decent as the restaurant was quite popular on this Friday evening. I thought the menu was pretty extensive and I'd love to visit again sometime to check out the breakfast menu! My only "compliant" which I would strongly advise you take note of - do not sit in the front window at about 6pm on a Friday night in July. My dad and I were MELTING!!! There are no shades or blinds that could have been closed so we truly just sweated our way through the meal!

This is so much more than you might expect from a small town diner. If you are in the area, just come here for breakfast, you will not regret it. Food is well prepared, staff is awesome!

Great restaurant for breakfast brunch with wine and beer! Mimosas! Nestled right on Central Ave just before Town Hall and 4th street. He got the big breakfast with cinnamon pancakes! The staff treat you like family!

Homemade sliced turkey, not lunch meat, on wheat

When visiting family in the area several times a year we usually find time to stop at CSR for breakfast. Great breakfast spot for sure and always friendly service! I typically get the homemade corned beef hash and eggs and I highly recommend. Today we stopped in for lunch and had a turkey club and a tuna club and both were delicious. A nice overall experience every time we dine at CSR, you won't be disappointed!

TL;DR: delicious food with even better service! Prices are extremely reasonable too. I came in for lunch as I was in town. The facilities were extremely clean and I was greeted with a smile. Carmen was my server, she was so sweet and gave me good recommendations. I got the special: cheddar bacon burger with waffle fries (Carmen recommended the waffle fries as do I). Food came out within 10-15 minutes of ordering, food is served with two (I expected slices but I'm not complaining) pickle wedges. The food was great, nothing undercooked and everything went well together great. The burger only cost $9 and I probably would've paid at least 12-15 for it, plus it comes on grilled sourdough! The waffle fries were fried to perfection, crispy and seasoning in every bite. I would come here again, she says they have a great Friday fish fry that I want to try next time I'm out here!

an omelet, toast, and fruit

I just had one of the best breakfasts I've had at a diner in a looong time. It started with a great cup of coffee - no bitter or burnt taste like those $5 coffees from the chains. I ordered a build-your-own omelette with spinach, mushrooms, sausage and cheddar (a small charge for a fourth item on my omelette). The sausage was perfectly spicy - not too much or too little. The spinach and mushrooms were clearly made fresh. And the service was flawless! Kudos!

I'd rather be on my lap top for this review, but the phone will have to do! Let me start with parking, though it may have little to do with the place - it sometimes is nice to know. There are some parking meters and some free parking - both are not that far from the front door. On with the building itself. Clean and spacious - definitely meets the pesky COVID-19 requirements for social distancing and the place is much bigger inside than it appears from the outside. Nothing was sticky like it is in so many places - if this pandemic did nothing else than to teach places to be clean it was worth it - sorta! The staff - the woman who took our order was perfectly friendly and quick! She couldn't have said or done anything differently and whoever was cooking knew what they were doing - quick! The pricing - well I thought is was very reasonable and we look forward to going back and trying other things on the menu. As for the taste - excellent - flavor was spot on and the coffee was never ending! If you are looking for your first place to go or a new spot - get out and relax!

I'm really glad that when my butt is in contact with the chair, my mask is off, because I don't want anything to inhibit the food on my plate from gracing my taste buds. It's been a long quarantine, and many are still calling to order (so many that we heard dinner orders were booked up tonight) but we're tired of takeout in the car, and hadn't put our two heads together to go eat by the water not too far down the street, so we sat down and for the first time in ages, ate in a restaurant. Two thumbs up for a great reintroduction to society guys. Well, two metaphorical thumbs, because I'd rather have mine wrapped around my lunch. I poured over the menu while my mate used the bathroom. There's a bulletin board in there, and two mirrors, just in case you think the first one is lying about that smile on your face. The specials menu called to me, but I stuck to a classic, the tuna wrap. I made a point to ask if it was going to be gloopy, because some people don't know how to ration their mayonnaise, and I was reassured it wouldn't be. Once it was in front of my face, words were confirmed with concrete evidence, a Flaming Cheeto colored bundle of protein. I had gone for the tomato wrap, its vibrant color popping. The flavors could be described the same, with crisp lettuce and tomato, and strings of cheese. I've suffered many sliced cheese filled wraps to get hype over such a minute detail, but they seem to care about the food here. No ploopage, and complimentary pickle bites with slices of a granny smith apple. All delivered to my table in less than ten minutes. My mate ordered off the specials menu, and got a bowl of clam chowder. We tend to get it from a can, and holy upgrade, why can't tin cans taste as good as housemade soup? It was very thick, appropriately so, and hearty. The clams were of standard size, swimming alongside potatoes and bell peppers, seasoned well. It was served with crackers, but instead he dunked in his roll. To follow he had the Fisherman Platter. The whitefish was crispy, with minimal grease. The beer batter was enough to not need additional seasoning, and it was accompanied by a container of (too mayo tasting) tartar sauce. He upgraded to the coconut shrimp, an additional two dollars, worth every penny. It didn't inundate the taste buds with coconut, coming off as subtle, as they had mixed in bread crumbs to the batter. They hadn't skimped on the shrimp either, serving up four jumbo boys to dunk in marmalade dip. It takes a delicate dip, as the sauce is sweet, so we stowed it away to bring home for toast when our bellies deflate. They offer two sides, along with coleslaw (which while made correctly, just isn't high up there on his list of favorite foods) and he went for double macaroni salad. Best decision. The ratio of mayo to mustard is on point, with the addition of carrot and dill. He'd come back just for more mac. But let's be real, we're coming back for more than that. And from the sounds of it, because you can't help noticing everything when there's no music, and a house emptied by Covid, everyone else is doing the same. They have regulars, know their names and meals and stories. It's a place you go to feel good, in your stomach and your soul.

First time here and they gave suggestions and were fun. I went with a turkey sub and they dont normally add the pickles but since I said I was new, they put a few of their homemade horseradish pickles on my sub. They should definitely make that an option. I'd happily pay a wee markup. Like, I'm gonna beg. Horseradish pickles. I didn't realize I needed these and now I'm ruined. I don't normally like sweet pickles but the horseradish bite and the slight sweet but the sour and the crunch make these crack. It's a no frills place--exactly the kind of place you expect to bust out what you need tonkeep the day going. I brought my sub with me to the county home and the receptionist was literally ordering from Lil Gingers and we had a whole conversation about them. Her fav is the steak sub.

It was great, but I don't need the calories from the mayonnaise so will stipulate accordingly next time, which will be soon. The amount, and various types of meat, were unprecedented and the roll was the best I've ever had, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and the inside was a heavy dough with lots of flavor. You might not be able to get your mouth open enough to bite into it!...but I managed :). My wife took the bottom piece of roll off in order to eat it and then are it separately. Lastly I got 8 HUGE sauerkraut pierogies that were clearly handmade and 2-3 times as tall as others I've seen for sale. We'll cook them tomorrow, the sub filled both of us up tonight.
