This place, okay listen lemme tell you something, I'm impossible to please when it comes to my work lunch if I dont have time to bring from home. I have NEVER ever never had a bad tasting dish bowl of soup or piece of bread from here. The gentlemen here are so kind sweet caring fun fills the place with laughing. It's just a perfect inviting environment for the days your feeling down, starving and need a lift in spirits or all the above. I have a speech impairment so I dont know much I just know that when I eat from here my body is fed well it gives me energy and makes my day less stressful. What really makes this place tick is the owner, Moshe, he is a fabulous maître d' owner manager with incredible interpersonal skills. As far as the food, Fabulous eggplant Parmesan, portions are spectacular and the iced mochaccino is the perfect blend. Try the nachos which are stellar and the french fries which are the best I've ever had in the globe, It's an insult to call them call them French. If you're looking for the perfect egg of any kind they have it. Want to go tonight? Go with the spectacular gourmet choice of salads or fish dishes that they have. Sit inside sit outside either one offers the same great service with extremely polite and loyal waiter waitress staff who have been there for years. There is one reason and one reason only that Central Perk Cafe doesn't get a five, and its purely in the ambiance department. It's brittle, unforgiving acoustics can render it a chamber of reverberating horrors if there is a single loud, cackling, person in a kaffe klatch (well, it is a coffee place) your digestion will likely be impaired, and its proximity to some of the highest conspicuous consumption boutiques in New York, ensure that it will happen to you. Now, the food: coffee in as many varieties as a Starbucks, fresh muffins in many varieties, three daily choices of soup (cream-based, French onion and vegetable based) all delicious, personal pizzas, huge salads (try the fisherman's) fresh vegi-burgers and pasta done to perfection in a variety of sauces, oriental stir-fry..and that's just what I remember without a menu. The portions are enormous. Any fish entree usually is accompanied by at least one other plate for its sides (and we're not talking Lilliputian plates here). I love the Cajun tuna, with brown rice and beans and the complimentary side salad, at about $16. So, if you can bear the noise, you'll love the food and the bill. The service...eh! CONSISTENTLY GOOD!!!! AMAZING NACHOS! There are about 4 kosher dairy places on Central Ave. They are all good but I consistently choose this one. I have never had anything I didn't like there and the one time I thought something was a little off, the nice owner immediately took it off the bill with a smile. Our favorite thing on the menu are the nachos. The cheese sauce is excellent and and guacamole and salsa are also uniquely good. We usually get a pasta and a sandwich/panini and we have never been disappointed. You walk out stuffed and usually leftovers in a doggy bag. Keep up the good work! read more

My visit to Central Perk was inspired initially by the name. My wife is an avid fan of the Friends comedy series and I was made to watch the E4 screened episodes on loop for years until thankfully they stopped screening them. I frequent cafes in London, England that arent necessarily kosher so it was a breath of fresh air to be able to order (kosher) muffins with my mid-morning coffee. Theres a broad range available on their menu from pastas, fish, pizza or salad to wraps, omelettes and waffles. My wife ordered a French onion soup and an olive oil with garlic pasta which was absolutely delicious and fresh (although I cant say the same for her breath afterwards). I stuck to a freshly brewed latte with a muffin as it was brunch time and I cant eat before 2pm :) The atmosphere was very inviting and warm, the place was spotless and the manager a true gent. The staff were extremely polite and very patient and understanding when my good lady changed her order no less than 3 times!! On my next visit Stateside I have every intention of making the trip to Cedarhurst to dine at my new fave kosher milky NYC cafe that is CENTRAL PERK!! read more

Every food item in this store is to die for. Their muffins are the size of footballs and are delicious. The owner is there from morning until night and will come over and make conversation with you. The regulars love him and really build relationships with him. Great place for a coffee and a bite. read more

Was verbally abused by the owner and asked to leave after opening my laptop while eating breakfast. Did not take up the table more than any normal customer was but was treated really badly and embarrassed in front of other customers. Expecting an apology from the owner and a full refund. If I could give this place zero stars I would. My husband and I came here to get some lunch. My husband was getting us a table while I was in the restroom. During this time, he was told he can sit in the outdoor space in the back. As soon as he walked out there, a waiter said "there's no seats for you here", despite the fact that there were available tables. My husband pointed out an empty table and went to sit down. The waitress cleaned the table with a wet towel and then dropped the wet towel on my husband's shoe! She didn't bother picking it up! Then a couple came and the waiter told them that our table was available, despite the fact that my husband was sitting right there! He told the couple that he's sitting there, but offered to share the table. They said okay, we'll take the seats by the window, the better seats. At this point my husband left, and complained to a manager there, who did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. This treatment obviously came from not looking as religious as the other couples there, which, if we weren't Jewish, would be a huge chilul hashem. Shame on this establishment for not treating their customers equally. Will never come to this establishment again. Avoid, avoid, AVOID!! read more

Cedarhurst Ave is full of great dining. After a wonderful experience last week at Stop, Chop & Roll, I tried Central Perk Cafe. I was warmly greeted by the very tall owner and asked to sit wherever I would like. The waiter service was courteous and efficient and the 3 main dishes we ordered and shared were all deliciously prepared and aesthetically pleasing. I was alone, so the owner just sat in a nearby table reading the paper. very rude. the waiter was very sweet but I had to get up to get everything: ketchup, salt and pepper, etc. The eggs were dry and cold.The bread was not fresh. I live and work in the area and this place is right up there with the most frequent eateries I attend. It is not a bagel store so do not expect that type of breakfast. I usually order a fresh muffin and coffee. Muffins are very good and the coffee is great. For lunch or dinner I get one of the many wraps, paninis or pastas. My kids go for the personal pizza or ravioli. I recommend the angel hair pasta with stuffed mushrooms. The only slight negative is that prices are on the high side for breakfast and lunch, but for dinner it is probably right in the middle to less expensive compared to other local restaurants. read more

My husband and I ended up at Central perk celebrating our anniversary when our reservation at a very fancy restaurant was cancelled. The meal ended up being one of the best we ever had! The vegetarian chili burger was unbelievably delicious, flavor packed with lettuce tomato, cheese, and chili on a toasted bun.
