Debit card number stolen after using their ATM. Arrogant and rude owners. Would recommend supporting different parking lot.

Ask the Community - Central Parking

How much to park for a Casino Ballroom concert tonight? Thank you?

$10.00

Can I park in my RV overnight 1 night?

Unfortunately, we cannot allow any camping in vehicles.

If I bought an overnight parking pass is it okay to sleep in my car then go to the beach in the morning?

No! The town ordinance prohibits it.

Is there overnight parking during the winter?

We have monthly rates for off season

It's no secret that Portland, ME has some of the worst parking issues in the world. But you know…read morewhich city tops it? Our buddies to the south - congrats, Portsmouth! Not sure how you bested us here, but you certainly have. You are - however - superior to us in parking garage options. And by that mean I mean, Portland has a dozen garages - anyone of them might run you upwards to $30 for five or six hours of parking (I kid you not) and most of them close at a certain point, so if your car gets stuck in one... well, have fun with that. Oh, and they're almost always full. Now... take Portsmouth. One real parking garage. Only $1 an hour. Open 24-hours a day. Always parking spaces. How is this magic even possible?! I don't know, but like others before me I implore you to skip the stress of street parking and just come right here. You won't have to worry about moving your car from a 2, 3, or 4 hour space (which in the end is probably gonna cost you the same as just coming here), and you're within walking distance to EVERYTHING. What's not to love?

Very disappointed with the experience. We weren't given a parking ticket upon entry, which led to…read moreconfusion and delays when trying to leave. The parking attendants seemed indifferent and offered no real help (even though I told them what time I got there and they have security cameras) and no explanation. They then blamed me for not going straight to the window at the time we didn't receive a ticket. A bit of accountability and friendly customer service would go a long way here. This was an unfortunate situation and was not done intentionally and the attendants seemed to blame others who have lied to them in the past for their lack of understanding and poor customer service. It was my 30th birthday so I guess, happy birthday to me! Do better!

Everyone, and I mean everyone, we talk to about Portsmouth tells us we 'have to go'. So we did…read more The city is a mix of modern and historic with lots of small 'mom & pop' businesses, eclectic restaurants, neighborhood bars, historic cemeteries, parks by the sea, restored theaters and pedestrian shopping areas. Very nice. We took in quite a few historic sights, did a bit of wandering around shops, visited a couple of local restaurants and very much enjoyed ourselves. Parking is in paid municipal lots around the outer edges of the downtown area. The streets are too narrow (historic) to allow parking on street. We did hear a couple of tradesmen working on a restoration project talking about parking. One of them had not paid for parking and his companion said the ticket for not paying was 'only $35' which was about what he'd pay for a day of parking anyhow so he should 'just let it ride'. So yeah, parking. Even our waitress had to pay to park. Ouch. That's a big chunk out of your daily wages. One of the comments we often hear is Portsmouth is a city that feels like a small town. I agree. Everyone we encountered was very community focused. They all seem to know each other and are happy to make suggestions of places to try or hacks to know navigating the city.

Portsmouth is the kind of town you say, "Honey, let's never go back home." On a Sunday afternoon, Market Square was buzzing with shoppers, people masked up observing social distancing with some dining al fresco. Jazz clubs, beautiful specialty stores (I fell in love with a mohair throw blanket imported from Ireland), restaurants at every price point, break from the madding crowd and head down one of the narrow winding alleys that have a distinctly European feel.
