After…read morethree months they will raise the rental fee stating "supply n demand" A) I already have several units therefore for me there is no demand my rent should be as is and the demand is for the new people, who will in turn get the lower rate rather than a higher one. It's the Ole bait n switch.. they get u in and once all your things are in there they raise the price cuz they got you. B) there were still plenty of open units so that supply n demand excuse is a scam. Then I find a cheaper place so I'm clearing out my two units and I tell them several days in advance that I will be out ON the first. At 630 pm the evening before the first they leave me a message saying that if my locks are still on my units when they go in in the morning that they will be charging me for a full month of rent even tho I said I'd be out ON that day. Now I understand if the place was full and someone needed to start moving in that morning but there were 7 available units available in the same size. With the slogan that says "we treat your stuff like our stuff" to me this showed me a lack of integrity and is very unprofessional. This isn't just me, my girlfriend has a unit there as well.. started at $143 a month, after 3 months they raised it to 199 and now at one year they want to bump it up to $270! Needless to say we will be pulling her stuff out from there as well. Bottom line... do not use public storage they suck you in and rip you off.

It was a hot, sweaty day and everything happened with no surprises. I'm not sure about their $80 fuel surcharge, though. They drove a truck which wasn't huge maybe 70 miles, so they couldn't have used more than 12 gallons of diesel. If the fuel surcharge is because diesel is $3/gal more than it used to be, why is the surcharge not $35 or 40? That's my only complaint and it's not a big one. I'd be glad to use them again.

One downside is that it's not well-lit, so it's hard to get things from the units at night. Also, the receptionist I always saw didn't seem happy to be there. She seemed pretty nice but it would have been a little better if she seemed happier with her job. There were also some minor problems, but they were able to fix them. The unit I was given had a broken latch; the lock would be on securely and the door would still open because the latch wasn't sturdy. They were able to move me to another unit though. I also gave them the required 5 days notice upon leaving before the next month rent was due, and a week later I got a notice saying my rental payment was late. I finally found one I could work with (paint & pretty up) for $50. Got a friend to help me with the pick up of said armoire. So far, so good. Another friend helped with the getting it upstairs when we got it home. I'll be the first to admit my stairway isn't easy. It takes two turns and the one at the top is tricky. Well that second turn was the one that my two helpers declared themselves stuck. They decided, I disagreed, that it would be best to leave the armoire on the 3' x 3' landing that is the second turn. I tried to veto that but I was outvoted. Now it was crunch time. I had to either find a professional to help or live with squeezing past this armoire that took up half the landing. I started calling. Mover A charges a 2 hour minimum - $230 (ouch!). Mover B, similar story $180. I started to think about whether I could live with this armoire there. Nope. I was at the desperate point calling/emailing every friend and leaving messages with other movers. Then Donny at Bradford Movers called me back. Was I a little worried when he quoted me only $50? Truth be told, yes I was. Mom always taught me you get what you pay for. But I was desperate. He told me he couldn't come out that day - reasonable - but could come the next morning at 8AM. The boss showed up with three guys this morning, early even. They were in and out in about 6 minutes. It took them a whopping 4 minutes to get it up and into the room. So my bargain armoire cost more than I wanted but Bradford Movers got me out of a jam and I thank them for that.
