Poor kids keep leaving because the restrooms are closed .

Here at beautiful Central Park with my kids . Anyone know why the city would come at 1:10 pm on a busy park start to the weekend day and close the restrooms ?? I watched as the parks guy came in an open bed pick up and locked them up . It is packed with kids ( 10 to be exact ) and no restrooms ! Every time we come here , they are closed but this time I saw them lock them up at 1:10 pm with a full crowd of kids on a Friday . Kids are out of school , no place for them to go but the park to play and this happened AGAIN ! I just saw a man go to the restroom on the outside of the men's door . Restrooms not open , so he peed right there at the door area / brick wall ! Yup !! Just happened ! C'mon Whittier , get with the times here . Very upsetting !!

Every year I look forward to the summer concerts at this park located in historic uptown Whittier. There's an old fashion gazebo with a flagpole where they raise old glory every morning. Playground with slides and swings for the kids. Picnic tables, restrooms, a small pond and many beautiful trees. The park is surrounded by many attractive turn of the century homes. I love seeing the squirrels! You thought this was going to be about that other Central park didn't you?

Korean foods and the people arnt geeky memorable to me can't even tell you what I got there the food was good but I been to some great ones. If I can remember it came with a fried fish that was very good had a bite and gave rest to my dog and she loves it since she if from that region and used as police dogs in Korea I expected nothing less.

2 little cars for the kids to ride.

Adventure Park. It has an early-'90s water-park ring to its name, and while parts of it look like they're from the early '90s, it's just a plain old park with athletic fields, a gym, green space, and some sparse picnic tables. And what would a Whittier-area park be without its obligatory random ravine and/or concrete drainage area? In this case, said concrete drainage area is dangerous-looking for kids and runs right through the park at a right angle. It's fenced off, and there are helpful bridges to cross it, but I wonder why they sited it through the park rather than on one end of it. I'm sure some kids have adventures here, because all parks with grass and play equipment can be fun and create childhood memories. But Whittier has spoiled me with its parks, and while this is technically South Whittier so it's outside of Whittier's borders, it's still close enough that it should feel like a Whittier park, and it most certainly does not. Why? Because it's totally flat. And totally rectangular. When my parents were walking twice a day during COVID lockdowns/curfews, I suggested they visit this park to change up their rotation, which comprised only two or three parks at the time. They said it was OK, and I later came with my mom and realized why it wasn't their favorite. The concrete path isn't totally straight, so there's some variety, but there isn't much shade along the path. There's lots of parking, and it serves its purpose as a neighborhood park, but it could be so much better.

There's also an area that goes into urban runoff and the rain garden. It's a small but cute park with a basketball court and a playground on one side. I would have stayed longer, but it was really warm, even in the late afternoon.

La Mirada Community Park in La Mirada, California has a really lively and refreshing atmosphere…read morethat I enjoyed when I visited with someone. I saw a lot of teenagers there, and the whole place feels energetic in a way that teenagers would love. The open fields, walking areas, and places to sit don't cost anything at all, which makes it easy to relax and have fun without needing a plan. I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and saw how naturally welcoming the park feels. It surprised me how comfortable it was to just be there without feeling rushed. Even though it's just a community park, it gives teenagers a great place to hang out, take pictures, play sports, or just be creative outdoors. I only visited La Mirada Community Park one time in my life before making this review, but it ended up being one of the most relaxed and youthful places I've been to in a long time. I never doubted that the experience would turn out the way I hoped it would. I've lived for 24 years, but in the summer of 2024 I learned that I'm still physically and mentally 18 years old, and that my prefrontal cortex is more developed than the average 25‑year‑old's. Maybe that's why I connect so much with places that feel playful and full of energy. I would highly recommend that teenagers go to this park because it gives them a fun, open space to enjoy themselves and feel creative.

There are multiple baseball fields as well as a disc golf course, which was cool to see. Another big plus is that parking is free and plentiful!
