    Kids play area

I come here to relax and get away from my home office now that I that WFH . It's very peaceful with beautiful trees and the grass is always well manicured. The bathrooms are clean, there's also a BBQ & dinning area with plenty of play areas for the kids. I love it here!!

Parking is easy & plenty of spots. As a toddler mom, I appreciate the fenced in playground. My kid loved the dinosaur fossil statue. The park also has a smaller toddler playground (not fenced in) walking distance from the dinosaur playground. There is also a small, old school splash pad that's open during the summer.

Dino skeleton and a dinosaur egg brought us to this neighborhood park in Whittier. It's in a small gated playground for little kids surrounded by a big green space and another playground for bigger kids. Easy parking makes this a great destination for a dino-enthusiast kiddo. Bathroom and picnic area, too!

I brought my daughter and her cousins to this park today for some fun in the sun. The parking is good, the park itself is clean and the playgrounds were good enough for the kids. They weren't complaining so that tells me there was enough to do to keep them happy. Nice area, clean park, and good playgrounds....we'll definitely be back here. Honorable Mention: They have a big kids playground and another one for the smaller kids. Good idea.

It's a small park, but it's close to home, and sometimes when I get nostalgic for my preschool days (I went to Presbyterian, which uses the park sometimes, because it's right behind it) I visit to go on the swings. I wouldn't normally go at night to hang out; it's not very well-lit and not populated at that time. Which can be good for some nighttime trysts. But for my purposes (seriously, I just like the swing set), it works. I live between Michigan Park and Penn Park - Michigan has more space for soccer, baseball, sports that need a suitable area of flat land. Penn has more hills and a cool little waterfall and meandering path. Sometimes people jog around the perimeter; nobody really utilizes those old-school workout areas, that I've witnessed. All around a good place to bring the kids. Or the older kids who still like to pretend that they're little ones.

I really like this park. Its really great for a nice evening walk or jog. Great for a picnic too and weekends this park is always full for birthday parties. I think the only reason im giving it 4 out of 5 stars is cause it has a cell phone tower in it and I just dont think a park full of children is a great place to put something that causes cancer.

Beautiful hilly park with lots of green area, baseball field, adult exercise equipment, benches for parties with sink and bbq pits, and 2 playgrounds. The gated playground is dinosaur themed with dinosaur bones for the kiddos to crawl through and giant dino footprints on the floor. The gated playground seems newer and has older kids swings, slides, climbing wall, and a spinning, climbing thing (I obviously don't know the name of it lol). Not too far from the gated dino playground is another playground that is not gated, seems older and seems suited for toddler to preschool aged kids. The park is in a nice residential area, looks clean, and doesn't seem to get too packed.

Beginning of the bbq.. familia good times

Ask the Community - Michigan Park

I'm hoping to host my quincenera here! Does anyone know if I have to reserve the park / get a permit or is it first come first serve? My guest list is 85-90, & I would set up party equipment like canopies (2-3), chairs and tables, maybe a jumper,?

Yes, reservations are needed. You might be able to check online.

Do u need to reserve for party or first come first serve?

It's a first come first serve type of park. But hurry! It can get very crowded at times, especially on Saturdays.

Adventure Park. It has an early-'90s water-park ring to its name, and while parts of it look like they're from the early '90s, it's just a plain old park with athletic fields, a gym, green space, and some sparse picnic tables. And what would a Whittier-area park be without its obligatory random ravine and/or concrete drainage area? In this case, said concrete drainage area is dangerous-looking for kids and runs right through the park at a right angle. It's fenced off, and there are helpful bridges to cross it, but I wonder why they sited it through the park rather than on one end of it. I'm sure some kids have adventures here, because all parks with grass and play equipment can be fun and create childhood memories. But Whittier has spoiled me with its parks, and while this is technically South Whittier so it's outside of Whittier's borders, it's still close enough that it should feel like a Whittier park, and it most certainly does not. Why? Because it's totally flat. And totally rectangular. When my parents were walking twice a day during COVID lockdowns/curfews, I suggested they visit this park to change up their rotation, which comprised only two or three parks at the time. They said it was OK, and I later came with my mom and realized why it wasn't their favorite. The concrete path isn't totally straight, so there's some variety, but there isn't much shade along the path. There's lots of parking, and it serves its purpose as a neighborhood park, but it could be so much better.

There's also an area that goes into urban runoff and the rain garden. It's a small but cute park with a basketball court and a playground on one side. La Mirada Community Park in La Mirada, California has a really lively and refreshing atmosphere…read morethat I enjoyed when I visited with someone. I saw a lot of teenagers there, and the whole place feels energetic in a way that teenagers would love. The open fields, walking areas, and places to sit don't cost anything at all, which makes it easy to relax and have fun without needing a plan. I didn't realize how much there was to enjoy until I walked around and saw how naturally welcoming the park feels. It surprised me how comfortable it was to just be there without feeling rushed. Even though it's just a community park, it gives teenagers a great place to hang out, take pictures, play sports, or just be creative outdoors. I only visited La Mirada Community Park one time in my life before making this review, but it ended up being one of the most relaxed and youthful places I've been to in a long time. I never doubted that the experience would turn out the way I hoped it would. I've lived for 24 years, but in the summer of 2024 I learned that I'm still physically and mentally 18 years old, and that my prefrontal cortex is more developed than the average 25‑year‑old's. Maybe that's why I connect so much with places that feel playful and full of energy. I would highly recommend that teenagers go to this park because it gives them a fun, open space to enjoy themselves and feel creative.
