In 2019 I had a consultation with Dr. Pliakas and began my braces journey. I had a front gap that I wanted to close up and straighten out my teeth in general. Every time I arrived for my monthly visits, the staff were so professional and gracious. Often times I needed to reschedule an appointment and there was never a problem. Dr. Pliakas is excellent and honest. He makes sure to keep you, the patient, aware of what he is doing. I was never in the dark about anything and I trusted him wholeheartedly. When COVID-19 came, everything was handled superbly. Appointments were suspended until it was safe. Masks continued to be required and a strict protocol was observed each time I arrived (reading my forehead for my temperature and sanitizing my hand). Eventually my braces were removed and throughout my follow up visits I felt very welcomed. His assistants were the best!! I would recommend Dr. Pliakas and his team at Central Park Orthodontics to anyone in need of braces or other work needed. Months ago I found myself on Yelp looking for an orthodontist that was just right for me. I was a little suspicious about all the 5-star reviews and visited several orthodontists for consultations before making the decision to go with Central Park Ortho. The office was clean, Helen at reception was friendly and Dr. Pliakas really listened to my concerns and helped me understand the plan to get results I'd be happy with. Helen explained my payment schedule and how insurance would be handled moving forward - no confusion and no pressure to commit. When my search was done, I came back to CPO and have been an Invisalign patient with Dr. Pliakas for 9 months. My smile is everything I'd hoped for and worth every penny! Every appointment was friendly, fast, easy and Helen made me feel comfortable each and every visit. She worked with my schedule and always made me feel welcome. Dr. Pliakas and his staff are absolutely amazing! After receiving a few consultations for braces and Invisalign from various orthodontists, I ultimately chose Central Park Orthondontics as Dr. Pliakas listened and addressed all my concerns in one-go. He's very experienced, knowledgeable, and realistic about Invisalign (as well as other options) and what it can do for his patients. Dr. Pliakas is a perfectionist, wanting to make sure his patients not only leave with a great smile, but to also correct any misalignment that might not be in view -- which is exactly what I want in an orthodontist! Throughout my year with Invisalign, I've had to stop by the office for either attachments or routine check-ups, and the experience has always been very pleasant. Helen, the office manager, is wonderful as she's always been so kind and welcoming, and is clearly very knowledgeable about dental work, the process, and insurance. The office is very clean and modern, with a great music selection playing in the background. The prices for Invisalign are reasonable and fair. I had a bit of an unique situation due to a foreseeable move, but Dr. Pliakas and his team graciously helped me with my Invisalign and transition when the time came. I'm a 40 year old with braces and have never been happier. I have always hated my teeth and Dr. Pliakas was highly recommended. I was extremely apprehensive about getting braces at my age but Dr.Pliakas worked magic to give me Invisalign on top and conventional braces on the bottom. My teeth were shifting quickly. Unfortunately, I fell ill and was hospitalized for a while completely unrelated to my orthodontics. That set me back in my oral timeline. Both Helen and Dr.Pliakas worked with me and were so patient with my situation. I also began getting frustrated with Invisalign and asked if it was possible to do all conventional braces. Without question, without asking for further payment, and always with a kind smile, Dr.Pliakas spent so much time and care giving me my conventional braces. My teeth were shifting even faster and even changing the shape of my face for the better. I began to see a more chiseled look appear as my bite widened. Then COVID happened and it delayed us more. Then I got a terrible case of long covid and couldn't come in as I was seeing cardiologists and neurologists for months. Once I was better, Helen, her office staff, and Dr.Pliakas took me back in with open arms, no judgment, and wouldn't allow me to pay them more despite me demanding so. I now have one more visit before these braces come off. I am so grateful for the exceptional care, exceptional service, and just the most incredible bedside manner I have ever experienced. I was so apprehensive about getting braces at my age and found myself looking forward to every appointment I had scheduled. I can't thank Dr.Pliakas enough for my amazing smile, my new bone structure, and changing my entire outlook on what a dental/orthodontic experience could really be like. I HIGHLY recommend Central Park Orthodontics. I plan on taking both my daughters when they are old enough and will definitely be in need. There really is no other place in my book. Best Kept Secret on the Upper West Side Dr. Pliakas is a wonderful orthodontist. His work is phenomenal. After several consultations with strong candidates across the city, I chose to proceed with him and have not regretted it to date. The pricing is competitive. Offices are beautiful and serene, overlooking Central Park. Staff is friendly and efficient, including his wonderful front-office associate, and rarely have we had to wait more than 5 minutes. The results have been fast, efficient and effective, to a point where my dentist remarked on the results. He is aware of all the most recent technologies and developments in the area of orthodontics. Moreover, he is a wonderful person: calm, bright, talented and very funny. He's modest about his education and training (inc. Harvard). After several consultations among other places, I decided to go with Dr.Pliakas and I haven't regretted my decision since. The office is clean, modern and most importantly the location is very convenient from both my school and work. Take the B or C line, the office is right next to the 87th street exit. Such a huge relief to go in for visit in NY brutal winter weather. Dr.Pliakas is professional and gentle and never once makes the adjustment painful. My visits are always pleasant. The front desk is informative and provides you with all the info you need. The orthodontist and his assistant are also great. They usually have pretty good music playing in the background and they tried relentlessly to get all the perfect moldings of my teeth for the Invisalign.
