Dr. Stearn was kind and I loved that she asked if I was interested in keeping my gap even through my alignment journey which had not been an option in the past. I am not using Invisalign but another brand instead that fits the needs of my teeth alignment journey. I'm super excited to get my aligners and am setting up a monthly payment journey. Included in the cost are all my appointments, my aligners and even my retainer journey once my teeth are straightened. The office is super clean and I love how up to date their technology is. Seeing a 3D image of my teeth was wild. And I love that they ask if I'd like a tooth brush to brush my teeth before appointments. I don't have to worry about additional fees or copays with any of my visits. Literally everything is included in my cost and I was able to apply my one time orthodontics insurance deductible towards my balance. It is expensive but i feel really confident entrusting my dental health with this orthodontics office. I should be getting my aligners in December and might wait til January to pop em in after all my holiday festivities when things wind down.

I went in for my appointment this past weekend and when I arrived the first thing to come out of the receptionist's mouth was: Receptionist: Hi, did you ever have braces before? Me: Yes Receptionist: When did you have braces? Me: a good 10 years ago when I was a teenager Receptionist: Oh ok. Well there's an $80 consultation fee if it's been five or more years since you've had braces. Me:... uh why didn't you tell me this on the phone? I was told it was a free consultation. Receptionist: **shrugs shoulders** Why is a free consultation provided for those who never had braces and an $80 fee charge for those who had braces? Why would having braces affect the price of a consultation? Why do you lie to people on the phone and mislead them to get them to come to your office? How does that help your business at the end of the day? Anyone who looking for any orthodontic care, do yourself a favor and don't come here. It's a complete bait and switch. The following is a true review of my family's experience with Dr Adamjee at Manhattan Eastside…read moreOrthodontics and I am happy to provide proof through photos, documentation, contracts etc. My daughter had braces placed by a different orthodontist who wanted to charge us month by month. We never got treatment with that orthodontist because we learned it is better to have a set contract. We interviewed a couple of orthodontists as well as Dr Adamjee, who all said my daughter needed braces for one year. We thought Dr Adamjee was charming and charismatic and so chose her practice. However, after a few months, we notice that one of my daughter's teeth was being pushed the wrong way so that the root was coming through the gum. We also noticed that there was little improvement in her teeth, and tried to talk to Dr Adamjee about it. Dr Adamjee continually dismissed our concerns, and when we asked why my daughter's tooth was pushing through the gum, she literally replied with, 'I don't know'. She actually told us to ask our dentist, who was as confused as us because Dr Adamjee was meant to be the expert. Eventually, I went to an expert who took xrays and explained that Dr Adamjee was pushing my daughter's teeth the wrong way and that the braces simply needed to be arranged to push her teeth the right way! Around this time, things got pretty unpleasant with Dr Adamjee who appeared to be angered that we were starting to ask questions and were concerned that at after almost a year of treatment, she had not only failed to improve my daughter's teeth, but made them look worse. Her main response was to tell us my daughter could lose the tooth that was being pushed the wrong way, and that my daughter's issues were 'complicated'. At no point did she admit that her treatment may be causing this. Now that we were fully paid up and almost year had passed, Dr Adamjee called us into her office, thrust release papers at us and said that because 'we'd lost faith in her' she could no longer continue to treat our daughter. We were still paying for our other two son's orthodontic treatments with her at the time which were also not going as hoped but were certainly not as dire as my daughter's treatment. Part of us was relieved that we could now take our children elsewhere but we were out over ten grand. Because of Dr Adamjee's treatment choices, we were forced to start all over again with our children. My daughter was told that in order to fix her teeth now, she would be in braces another year at least. Thankfully, we picked an amazing orthodontist who in our daughter's first 4 week appointment, had moved our daughter's teeth out of their compromised position and the root was no longer showing. All of the issues Dr Adamjee seems to have caused, have been resolved, and now, a year later, my daughter's teeth are straight and beautiful. I really did wait because I didn't want to write a negative review without making sure that I got the facts right. Even though we had to pay thousands more to start new contracts for all of our children and my daughter was forced to be in braces for a full extra year, at least we finally got it right with a highly professional and competent orthodontist.

With the braces on 24/7 for 2 years affected my social life, my career, the way I talk and the way I ate (bascially it affected everything). It turn out that I made the right choice by doing it with Newsmile Orthodontics. They have 2 locations (one in Flushing NY and one in downtown Manhattan) and I did go to both location for my appointments. The doctors there (Dr. Frank Lu and Dr. Sherrie Lai) are both very professional and detail oriented. They explain to me in great detail about what is going to happen each step of the procdeure. Also the staff in both location are very educated and friendly, they are able to answer my question in a timely fasion whenever I call. Another impressive thing is that the doctor always see me on time for each of my appointment (I never have to wait for more that 15 min), but please don't get me wrong both locations are very busy. I believe the reason that they don't have to keep the patients waiting is that they (both the doctors and the staffs) are really good at what they are doing and also they care about the patients (which is the most important element for any kind of successful business). Dr. Lu removed my braces about a month ago and I am very happy and satisfied with the result. A lot of my freinds and relative are saying I look better and smile with much more confident now. And to tell you the truth, even my own dentist (I go to my own dentist for cleaning and other issue because of my insurance plan) compliments the alignment of my teeth now saying Dr. Lu and Dr. Lai do a very good job. It's much easier for me to brush my teeth and also I have a much better pronunciation when I talk now. Once agin I am vey happy and satisfied with the result and I strongly recommend anyone any ages going to Newsmile Orthodontics for the aligment of their teeth.
