Let me tell you about Dr. Nancy, I have the worst Irish teeth ever and Dr Rojas inherited me from my oral surgeon to complete my dental implant. The accuracy used to match my tooth coloring and placing made me calm and trustworthy in her hands. I've been going to Dr. Marin Rojas for 5 years now and she is the best dentist I've ever had. I'm super nervous re any kind of dental work...even cleanings and she and her staff are always very gentle and thorough. You can tell she's an excellent clinician by the detailed way she examines and asks questions. I had a filling that needed to be replaced that I had put off because I had just given birth. The tooth then got infected and while she could have tried to upsell me on more invasive procedures she laid out all the options for treatment and was supportive when I chose the least invasive route (a course of antibiotics and following up in 3 days instead of going straight to root canal)...which worked saved me thousands of dollars and the pain of an invasive procedure. When this happened I also discovered that my husband had forgotten to re-enroll in a dental plan at work and that I was going to pay out of pocket and was freaking out because I was on unpaid maternity leave...I mentioned this was going on and that I didn't think I could afford to pay for a root canal out of pocket at the moment, she incredibly kindly had me come in for my 3 day follow up visit before her office hours started, saw me and re-x-ray-ed my teeth and *did not charge me for the visit* which I didn't realize until the receptionist said 'no charge for this visit' when I was checking out. Nancy is the best. She's nice, efficient, and practical -- she says "Yes, you need this," or "We can wait on that," with a clear eye to the patient's good rather than her bottom line. (She feels like a mom, in the best way, and her hygienists are all cool as well.) Her office is bright and just one block down from Union Square, so it's super convenient. And last week at my checkup, I forgot I had dental insurance and paid the retail cost. When I found my dental card, her receptionist refunded me the money and charged it to Cigna instead. I love Dr Marin and her practice. It is easy to get an appointment and when you arrive, you seldom have to wait more than a few minutes before being seen. Dr Marin, Dr Yu and all her co-workers are pleasant, knowledgeable and caring. I have been too many dentists who want to do a gazillion procedures once you sit down. Not in this practice. She is conservative, knows what she does know and what she does not and does not to hesitate to refer you to a specialist when you need it. I have been her patient for several years and I will continue coming here because I think this is how patients should be treated. read more

Dr. Nancy Marin- Rojas was not only very affordable but truly amazing in every way. I waited too long to see her and was in significant pain when I finally called to make an appointment. I had to make an emergency appointment as a new patient. She saw me the next day, was gentle, intelligent - her conservative management spared me a painful and expensive root canal and I am now pain free. This review comes as a bit of a shock to me as well since I had been a patient of Dr Marin-Rojas' for over 8 years and have always had a great experience with her practice but I was extremely disappointed with how my last appointment was handled. My wife went into labor early Saturday morning and our beautiful baby girl was born late Saturday. She was scheduled to be discharged at noon on Monday. On Monday morning I realized I had a dentist appointment scheduled for 10:30am so I called Dr. Marin-Rojas' office to explain the situation and reschedule. After explaining that I would have to miss the appointment due to the aforementioned reason I was dispassionately told that because I hadn't given 24 hour notice for cancellation they would assess me a cancellation fee! I don't care at all about the cancellation fee! Assess me one! I knew about the 24hr requirement but the lack of sympathy and consideration on such a basic principle, not to mention that it was IMPOSSIBLE to give 24hr notice in this circumstance, it being the weekend and all, led me to realize that this was not the kind of practice I wanted to give my business, regardless of our past history. read more
