My friend and I enjoyed walking the overlook trail, including seeing the views of the lake. The weather was sunny and breezy and we got a good workout. I like that they don't allow dogs here to preserve their wildlife. We saw a couple of deer on our walk which was lovely. We look forward to our next visit to Eagle Mountain Park.

This makes for a great hiking experience. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge lover of dogs, but I love that this park is working to preserve the nature, plus some of the trails are steep and it would be heinous to make your dog venture up and down some of these more aggressive slopes. Nonetheless, I still saw two people bring their dogs out... some people simply have no regard for guidelines to protect the nature and not create an undue burden on your dog. Sigh. This is truly one of the best places in DFW if you are serious about hiking. There is a 500 feet elevation gain on the trail by the lake and this makes for great views and an easy way to get your heart rate up. There is ample parking and admission to the park is free. The only downside I would mention is the only restroom facilities are two port-o-potties and they were disgusting. One was out of toilet paper and there are no sinks to wash up. I don't know why people feel the need to make a bad situation worse by urinating all over the seat and trashing the facilities. Other than that, Eagle Mountain Park is a great choice for a semi-challenging hike site in DFW. The views are also a great reward for your efforts!

There are picnic tables but they're first come. Today the water was clean and hardly anyone was there, mostly moms and toddlers. We visited the Kona store and they've got snacks, drinks and of course Kona Ice! If you forget sunscreen or sunglasses they have those items too.

There is an area for learning with some air plane wings and a place to sit and chill. Walk a bit further and there is a waterfall. Wasn't moving a lot of water the day we went, but it was still a good photo. We walked out a bit further and didn't see anything more but an open path for walking. It was nice to be out in the fresh air and walk for a bit.

This place is a perfect little picture spot. The main falls area is best enjoyed in the early morning when there isn't a drought of any severity, as it dries up pretty easily. You'll hear lots of planes on the nearby airbase but it's only annoying if you don't live around here. Before the pandemic, this place was a true hidden gem but it has become more crowded since then, even with the world's tiniest and easily missed parking lot acting as population control. I'll always love this park and going for photo ops but I miss when it was overlooked.

The hike itself was moderate, not much to see except for the lake. Majority of the time we were either alone or were passing others by. The weather was beautiful and it felt great to be outdoors in nature after such a long while of being cooped up in the house. We got "lost" trying to make our way back to the parking lot, but it was still a good hike lol.

It's a little bit of a windy road to get to it if you go to the back way like I did. There is some beautiful views of the lake on a couple of the terms you also might want to take a nap because my granddaughter and I almost got lost. She also tried to kill me by forcing me up this very steep hill. All in all, it's a great place and I can't wait to return. This time of year is great for watching the sunset.

Lots of pretty views along the trails…read more Speaking of the trails, they are definitely made for mountain bikers, but there were a couple of other couples hiking like us. The trails are rocky & hilly, so if you are hiking, do so in good shoes. I kept slipping in my regular gym shoes, but it was pretty and fun. We didn't stay very long because we came during the latter part of the day. It was our first time here and since we are unfamiliar with the trails, we didn't want to get "lost." We will definitely be back to explore this park more.

There's white, yellow and monarch butterflies dancing everywhere as well as dragonflies in the spring. I also saw tons of cute lady bugs sprinkled everywhere and beautiful birds! Not to mention the nature is just singing here and the walk can just transport you into a peaceful state of mind. It has an area where people can fish, or take out their boat, and I always love to bring my pups out here. The full loop is about 15-20 minutes depending on how quickly you walk. Oh and you have to drive down a dirt path to get here (not too bad). I love coming here to clear my mind!

Great spot on the east side of Lake Worth for sunset views…read more On a first visit in mid-June 2020, music was playing, several large families were gathered for birthdays/cookouts (6 feet between groups), about 15 kids and 7 young adults were swimming-many with inflatable rafts/tubes. The small parking lot was packed and a few cars were parked in the street nearby - maneuvering in and out was tight. While the views were nice, the amount of trash overflowing trash bins and strewn across grass and trails created an unsavory impression--unsure whether trash is often neglected at this park or if it is due to decreased trash pick-up due to COVID-19. Additionally, the one (and only) large port-a-John situated by the parking lot and main park trail emitted a pungent odor which could not be avoided from several feet away...I was wishing for some flowers to stick my face in after! Based on the first visit and distance from home, this isn't a park I'll eagerly return to or recommend to friends though I'd be interested in visiting post-COVID to see if it's any less crowded and better maintained.

A guy from my men's group told me about the walking bridge over the lake, and I included it on my bucket list. (That was a few months ago, which means it took me some time to finally get out here. Don't know what I was waiting for. Warmer weather?) I quickly parked and began the mile or so walk to the other end of the walking bridge. (Guessing two miles from start to finish.) Of course I took plenty of pictures. In addition, I sat down on one of the many benches to enjoy nature in solitude. This was my time of meditation to regroup from the many thoughts swirling around inside my head. There were also many other people, including families with children, and some who were fishing. Assume you can do that here. Anyway, I very much enjoyed my time out here and know you will too. There seemed to be a lot more to the park, but this adventure on the bridge was to satisfy my curiousity for now. Go check out the bridge, you will be able to reconnect with yourself through nature just like I did.

This is one of my favorite trails to visit, especially during the Texas heat because the area is…read morevery well shaded. I always bring my dogs here, and they absolutely love it. The last few times I visited during weekends or holidays, it was pretty crowded with teenagers running around and a lot more activity. But this time it was quiet and you could hear the birds, so peaceful. Everyone around the trail was very respectful. There were people cycling, walking their dogs, hiking, and just enjoying the outdoors. I also love that there are different trail options depending on how long or challenging you want your walk to be. There's a nice mix of uphill and downhill sections, which makes it even better. Plus, the nearby dam area is perfect for taking a break and cooling down. One thing I really appreciated this visit was how clean everything looked. Previously, I had noticed quite a bit of littering, especially broken glass bottles, which can be really dangerous for dogs. Thankfully, this time around the trail looked much cleaner and better maintained.
