A Much Improved Experience I want to update my previous review because Central Oregon Community College has made some real improvements. A while back, I had a frustrating experience with their mailroom my package sat untouched for a week, and communication felt nonexistent. Thankfully, things have changed. Recently, the staff has been far more responsive and helpful. Packages are processed quickly, and it's clear that the team is paying attention and taking their responsibilities seriously. Whatever changes they've made behind the scenes are working, and I appreciate the effort. I'm happy to say COCC has come a long way, and my experience now reflects a much more reliable and well‑run operation. read more

I just came home from the Dental College and had work done for 20 dollars and the staff and doctors there are amazing. Highly recommend. I will never go back to Advantage dental or Gentle Dental, they were horrible. I had a tooth pulled and it was the perfect extraction and I have had many. read more

COCC serves a vital role in Central Oregon by providing not only the first step (two-year Associates) to obtaining a four-year degree but offering loads of continuing education classes. All at low cost. Beyond that, the school is a recognized leader in several areas such as nursing, aviation, firefighting. The culinary arts program sells student-created baked goods to the public, which are delicious. We've also taken classes on gardening, heath, nutrition and ceramics. The campus is beautiful and the library is very impressive. And as a public benefit during the pandemic, COCC hosts the Curative covid testing truck which offers free PCR tests to anyone. read more

I've been a student here off and on for a few years. In that time I've switched majors twice. Through my experience, I have received pretty good job opportunities because of the education I have received here. I have found every instructor to be quite helpful and informative. The prices per tuition here are very affordable and the class assignments are more individual then group work which I love. But just as any other school, you get out of it, what you put into it. Pay attention and know where you want to go with your degree and COCC will give you the tools for the job. read more

Can't really explain how disappointed I am with the Financial Aid situation leaving me in doubt and discomfort. The communication dealing with Financial Aid needs to be upgraded or students like me will start to revolt! My FAFSA didn't go through for Summer term so I'm left hoping Fall term will be okay~ One. Don't tell me I'm okay till next year as far as my FAFSA goes and then a week later tell me I'm too late and F*** me! I'm in debt as it is and wondering if I should just find a job to pay off my loans before I go prematurely grey! Disillusioned. read more

The kids who attend classes here regularly must be in AMAZING shape, as this pretty campus is laid out up and down the hill side. If you go... it's fairly well signed, but be sure to check which classroom you need ahead of time as there isn't much help around campus if you do get lost. read more

My first term at this school has been a nightmare, primarily with the financial aid department. I have been going to class for over a month into this term, and financial aid was due 5 days ago. Today when I called I was told it could be another 3-5 days until I will receive it. I am about to become homeless because of their failure, and can't even attend class this week due to no gas in my vehicle. And it's summer term! I couldn't imagine how they are able to handle fall, winter, and spring terms when there are 5 times the students. Don't go to this school. This department does not value your quality of life, customer service, or your education. They have now put my education in jeopardy because of pure laziness in processing student loans. read more

Attended summer conference. Campus is clean, scenic, good food and good facilities. The residence dorm rooms are not air conditioned. Fans provided. Rooms are up to 90 degrees in the day and fall to 80 degrees about midnight. I hung out in student commons area which is air conditioned 'till midnight. Staid at wickiup hall. read more

As a visitor, this community college is pretty awesome! The fact that the school itself is uphill and the location is forestry, I wouldn't mind going here haha. It's very scenic and clean. Even the cafeteria here is quite better than the ones I see in SoCal. Foods were freshly made--some are free, discounted but most were at cost. read more

Registered for a week long class, confirmed dates, times, payment, that everything was correct and I was in the class, four months before the class. Then today I get an email that I am on the wait list "way down the list" and the dates have moved up two weeks, leaving me hanging to ether move many other commitments and a booked hotel for a week, for a chance that I might be able to attend a class that I was "IN" or try to find an other offering for a class that I was willing to drive 500 miles to attend in the first place. Thanks but no-thanks I will be looking into other education centers. read more

Wow--just tried to get my transcripts transferred to another college and instead of the $5 fee I was charged $35 for unpaid tickets back to 2001--I guess punishment for parking in the back 9. I wasn't impressed with the college when I did attend, but now see that the dismal economic state has them grasping at straws to make some money. I am not exactly old and think I would remember 3 parking tickets on my window (it was 2 and then changed to 3 when I talked to a different department). When I talked to the staff I felt kind of discriminated against--snickers about how it would take a really long time to locate as they didn't go to the school at that time and boy sure glad they have help to look up the citations from that long ago. Really?! Last I checked document are scanned and put into pdf's everyday--even the old records. You know saving paper and such--which I think Oregon is kind of into. I will pay what I owe, but should have gotten some kind of notice via email or mailed to me--like the transcripts. Bet those were saved electronically. Sorry for the rant--just a bit dismayed with the whole encounter apparently since 2001. read more
