Decided to hire movers for our Bham - Seattle move and I am so happy that we chose this company! Richard came out in person to view our "inventory" which was a lot better than having to guesstimate to others over the phone. Moving day was a breeze - I had everything boxed up and we were all moved into our Seattle apartment before dinner time. The crew were very friendly and conversational as they carefully wrapped our electronics and furniture. Everything was wrapped and stored carefully that nothing was damaged during the move. OMG...worst company ever. Eddie who booked me lied about price. Movers came I bought Lisa & Nick lunch and tipped them I had given a deposit said DO NOT keep card either paying cash or other way and when I was ready money owed was more so I said NO...Nick got Frank/manager on speaker who talked to Victor Frank after being rude to me so okay pay what you were told and as I was giving Nick/mover payment Frank says we ran her card...movers were mortified...the card I unauthorized and ran for the amount I did not know. I talked to Victor/GM who was mean and said too bad I told him too. WORST DECEITFUL moving company in San Diego.My sister and her husband own a Keller Williams they said if they knew they would have told me they refer their clients to other movers. We moved across town (Mount Vernon) a week ago. These guys did a great job! Jack came to our house about a month ago, explained the process, and estimated the time/cost for the move. He was very knowledgeable and courteous. The week before the move, they called with arrival time info. On Monday morning, the crew of three arrived within 5 minutes of the expected time, put down protective mats, and started in. Less than 6 hours later, all of our furniture (we had moved our own boxes in advance) was in place at the new house, without so much as a scratch! The moving crew was courteous and very professional - all well experienced in the process. The total cost was just a bit over the estimate, well within reason. We could not be happier!! My 86 year old mother was moving from one retirement community to another. The new community provided 2 hours of moving for her, and Central Moving is the company they use. Everyone that I spoke with on the phone was polite and knowledgeable. My mother was especially worried about a piece of antique furniture that has been in her family and special note was made of it. They arrived right on time for the move and from the first minute the two men were polite and cheerful. It actually took 2 1/2 hours longer for a total of 4 1/2 hours but that wasn't the movers fault. We had more than we thought and were still packing stuff. The movers never stopped. They even took the bed apart and removed the mirror from a dresser and reassembled them for us at the new location. They also provided us with boxes for hanging clothes right out of the closet. When it came to the antique piece it was securely wrapped in blankets, taped and handled with care. By the end of the move the guys were still patient and cheerful. After working with 3 women most of the day on a stressful move that needs to be noted! I would definitely use Central Moving again! read more

Seriously, moving sucks! But every single person we worked with, from Richard who quoted (and actually came in at a LOWER number than originally stated) to the office staff coordinating everything, to the crew who loaded us, to Kenny who drove our goods and coordinated the crew who off loaded.....not a clinker in the bunch! We simply cannot thank them enough! We have done a few too many moves on our own and wish we had found them earlier. The professionalism, the politeness as our world was dismantled, the load off our shoulders, the "can do" attitude everyone displayed just made a tough activity seem like a cake walk. I was shocked to see a five star for this moveing company, we used them four years ago. They left my house a muddy mess then left our belongings in a truck for a week before it was to be transferred it should of been in a climate controlled environment. When the other company went to transfer to a different truck they discovered thousands of dollars worth of things had been stolen. I had to give this 1 star to review unfortunately. read more

Outstanding service, from beginning to end! I was amazed at how professional the staff was beginning with Duane (who I initiated contact with and who scheduled my walk through for an estimate), to later with Richard who was not only very knowledgeable, but also friendly (great sense of humor ;) ), prompt and professional. Once moving day arrived, the crew was there on time as promised and got to work immediately. These guys were impressive! They worked hard and were very determined from beginning to end until every piece of furniture was moved and without damaging a single thing! All the while they were asking for my input and taking extra care not to miss anything. They disassembled and reassembled my entire bedroom set and had to tackle the move with sets of stairs on both ends. My hats off to an outstanding service at a very reasonable price. My move was between Anacortes and Vancouver Washington and in the 20+ moves I have experienced both in state and interstate, this company is sorely lacking in communication, honesty, and professionalism, however, because I was moving from an area with basically zero services and they were pretty much the only moving company who would even come to Anacortes, I had no choice but to use them. The initial visit involved this inept salesman who estimated I had over 13,000 pounds yet failed (or conveniently did not disclose) that no matter how many pounds I had, it would be a 12,000 minimum even though he wasted over 2 hours of my time including things like a piece of paper on the floor if he saw one. First of all, I knew I had less than 10,000 as I had moved 2 years earlier from out of state and had 13,000 pounds then and had disposed of two rooms of furniture, yard equipment, etc. Anyway, although most large professional movers I have used In the past go by "actual pounds", these people switch the criteria when advantageous to their bottom line, depending on how they feel or how their business is going. The actual weight ended up being 9900 lbs so I was right all along on the actual weight. I go along with the 12,000 lb minimum as I have no choice so the day before the move, they change the truck from an 18 wheeler to a 26 ft truck (like one you can rent yourself) to save a buck even though I continue to question if it is big enough as I have very large, heavy furniture. Since I am a single woman, the "man" tells me he is "sure" so I go along with this. The movers who loaded the truck seemed to be very careful and doing a good job, however, I didn't know that the truck was definitely too small and once it was unloaded in Vancouver, I have an iron hand-forged wine rack with the front leaf torn off (which I had to point to so they could eventually find the broken leaf inside the truck), a treadmill with the safety switch completely torn off the front and a cord with electrical wires poking through as something heavy had been set on it, and multiple boxes that were crushed or had large holes in the sides of the boxes. All of this was from using a truck too small and shoving and improperly stacking my stuff so that they broke and damaged the stuff. Their moving costs were so high, I did not get replacement insurance as I had in prior reasonably priced moves and I had been told how careful they were and how good their reputation was so I only had the free $.60 a pound insurance they provide. I paid to have my bed put together and found out when I went to make it, one side rail was not even attached to the headboard and since the truck was gone, they had to send someone here in Vancouver, (the day before Thanksgiving) to bolt it as it was too heavy for me to lift on my own. They did pay me the $.60 a pound on the broken items, however, just for the treadmill repair alone, it only covered one third of the cost. These items have been moved multiple times by professionals (one move was nearly 1,000 miles) and not only were these items never damaged (or any other furniture), I previously never had one crushed or damaged box. The last straw has been a missing furniture dolly which I actually moved myself as I used it at the new place prior to my furniture being delivered. I purposely put my step stool and the rolling furniture dolly on the right hand side of the garage wall prior to their arrival so I would have it after they were done unloading. After they leave, guess what? No dolly, so I figure they moved it and buried in the stuff in the garage. After a few weeks, I rearrange the entire garage and guess what? No dolly. I call the company and explain the situation and am told they have no dolly. These are the same people that told me a 26 foot truck would be big enough, did not disclose the 12,000 lb minimum, screwed up an expensive treadmill and a very costly piece of handmade furniture, and had trouble putting a bed back together that they had disassembled. I asked for the dolly to be replaced even though it was not expensive, it was mine that I had for years and they knew I had a furniture dolly because I had included it on the first list of items to be moved and had it deleted on the final list and I sent them a copy of the first list to prove I was not just saying I had this dolly and they could verify it which is humorous that my word would be questioned after all the lies I had been told from this company. Bottom line, if you want to be scammed and taken advantage if, oh, and if you want your stuff broken and damaged on top of it, you will want to give them a try. Otherwise, I suggest trying to find someone, even if in Bellingham or Everett, to move you as this company is careless, unprofessional, and greedy and in all the many moves I have done, this experience was a joke. read more

We moved on Feb 16 this year and Central Moving and Storage was recommended to us. We were extremely pleased with the move. From the estimate (which was very accurate) to the men who moved us - they worked hard all day and only took a short lunch break - they were friendly, considerate, and respectful of us and our belongings. They arrived on time at 9:00 am and were finished moving everything into the new house by 4:30. And it was a 2100 Sq ft house. I can't say enough positive things about this company. I lost my job in Seattle and had to stay with family in Mount Vernon- my belongings went into storage. Central Moving & Storage was having a 'one month free' for three month's rental. I never had to ask for my free month because they keep very good records- I even got money back for leaving early- the girl on duty (when I was moving out) actually walked out to my car and handed me cash! The staff is friendly and helpful. I was never worried about my belongings- the facilities are well-maintained and secure. I highly recommend CM&S. read more

You can't go wrong with these movers. We moved from WA to FL. They stored our furniture until our home closed, then it was trucked across country. Everything went without a hiccup. The price was extremely competitive. Duane & Richard really know their stuff. We actually received a refund once all was said and done because our weight was under the estimated amount. How honest is that? We never would have been the wiser. We highly recommend Central Moving for your short distance or, in our case, long distance move! read more
