Will be reviewing the tacos from the deli FOOD: The tacos were not bad at all. It had great flavor and meat to tortilla ratio was also good. We got the quesa birria tacos and one asada and one pastor. All were delicious along with the salsa. The consomme was delicious too. $2.99 for regular meat tacos and $3.49 for the quesa birria tacos consomme included. SERVICE: One woman doing it all when I visited. She was quick and nice. AMBIANCE: It's a little food court portion inside a supermarket. It has a couple of tables and chairs. It was clean and had no foul smell when I visited. Not loud inside at all. I would like to try other meats but I love the flavor of their carne asada so much I can't bring myself to order anything else. That being said. Today I ordered a meat quesadilla. I wish they used the giant tortilla it was good for a kids meal. But my kid ordered the nachos supreme and it was too much food for them so I guess it worked out. I've never been anywhere else that makes their quesadilla with the soft taco size tortillas. It's fine I'm not mad I just wish I knew up front. I'm just going to put it out there I'd rather go to Tacos de Acupulco or Efren's for the amount of food I received. But they do have the tastiest asada. So I can't complain too much. Just a note when you order certain foods here, your food might need to be heated up and it's done so in a styrofoam takeout box in the microwave. They do wear masks and gloves and they're are plexiglass barriers. A few tables and chairs to eat at inside but I didn't see anyone sanitizing them. This place used to be a real hell hole. Still when you go to enter the doors are covered with signs like, no pets, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, no pack packs and a few others. They are in English so their predominantly Hispanic customers aren't bothered by them. Having said that if you can make it into the store without getting arrested it is under new management (apparently) and Oscar has the place so nice you could eat off the floor (no sign against that). Everything is well stocked and they have a lot of merchandise for a small store. Great selection. Good produce dept. Most prices are acceptable but a little on the high side. That's o.k. I would bet that they have the largest selection of ice cream in the world (not cheap). They do discriminate against Gringos. This one short female cashier who apparently works seven days a week always chats up the Mexicans and can hardly blech thanks to the Gringos. She doesn't know I speak Spanish. read more

This is my go-to place for delicious asada when I'm making tacos...they will even add fresh marinade to it for you for free! Please try to avoid this store!! They are so rude. I drove 1 hour to come to this store to try check it out. My husband was waiting for me in the car. Not even 5 minutes the owner and his son put a towing notice on my car. We tried to talk to them. But They have an attitude problem, used a bunch of bad words to us. They said that they were going to call the towing company because my husband didn't go in the store with me. Even tho I was shopping in there with my daughters. Try the Mexican Food restaurant inside the store. It's amazing! We come here for the hot food as often as we are in town. I always order their carnitas tostada. Their carnitas is fabulous in everything. And they sell it by the pound. They start the tostada by putting refried beans on a bottom shell, then top that with a new shell, add more refried beans, carnitas, then lettuce, tomato, crumbled Mexican cheese, and then finish with drizzled sour cream. The lady who prepares the food creates a piece of art with everything she makes. She places each ingredient delicately and deliberately on the food. What comes out is pure taste bud heaven! A carnitas tostada runs 3.99! Cheap! It's a meal by itself. I also love their $1.39 fresh pork tamales. Their green salsa is not that spicy and so, so good. Closest grocery store to my house, I really hate coming here but it is my go to when I don't want to be spotted by anyone I know if I'm rocking the no makeup, glasses, pajama look and need one of the few items they carry that I might want such as eggs, bananas, tortillas, lettuce..... And that might be about it! Their sign mentions beer and wine, but it is pretty much a $5 wine (aka headache, no thanks) or Budweiser type selection. I've been known to grab a cheap champagne for mimosas here, but otherwise skip this spot and keep driving to either jj's on the Mesa, or Von's back in Grover. read more

Avoid if at all possible. I have lived nearby and shopped here for 3 years. It just keeps getting worse. My fiancé was waiting for me outside while I was shopping and an employee yelled at him for loitering and solicitation. So much so that he won't set foot in there again. They don't label the food from the deli, so you can't tell what is spicy or mild.( this is happened to me more than a dozen times in the past six months) God forbid if you have an allergy to something. I called in an order and was put on hold and the line was disconnected and when I called back the lady was rude to me and said I hung up on her. The markups are crazy. A Digiorno Pizza is $10. At Walmart the same pizza is $5. I try to support local businesses and even with how close this is to my home, I loathe the idea of shopping there. read more

Favorite little market on this side of Pismo...actually in Oceano. Deli area inside with good food to order-tacos, burritos, tortas, nachos and more. Meat is decently priced and fresh. They also sell fresh seafood like shrimp and salmon. A tiny selection of Mexican sweet bread. Other items like ice cream, coffee filters and items you forgot at home are also available. Small little market with everything you need. They have a butcher department in the middle of the place. Great prices and select cuts. They also have a deli that makes Mexican and American entrees. I had their pastor and tripas tacos and they were hands down the best tacos I've had. I also tired their Carne Asada Burrito and it was spectacular. Best Mexican market in the Five Cities bar none! Their deli is one of the best and the price is just as good!

Imagine getting into a time machine and transporting yourself back to the grocery store you grew up with as a child in the late 70s early 80s, or if you're too young that, imagine going to a grocery store south of the border, and you've got Central Market. Most of their stuff is geared towards the Latinos who live in the area and shop there, which is fine with me. Good bargains if you know where to look. Other than that, some every day essentials are rare and the ones that are, are overly inflatedly priced. It's a processed foods wonderland, if that's your thing. I am writing a review for the deli and butcher case only...although there are some fantastic , hard to find items in the store part of this market as well. My husband and I went to the market for a breakfast burrito...SOO GOOD!! Everything is fresh. The incredibly nice women behind the deli counter make all of the food fresh daily, aside from the tortillas. That means, all of the carnitas, asada, chicharrons, frijoles, arroz, shredded meats for tacos and burritos and the menudo and pasole they serve on the weekends, as well as the incredibly tasty tamales (yes, I had on of those too)...all made daily! I am so excited to go back and try more stuff! Also, we bought fresh cojita cheese and a beautiful pork tri-tip for oven roasting from the butcher case. The prices in the butcher case were very reasonable, and the meat was beautiful. I will reevaluate this post later if the meat is subpar, but they butcher everything, AGAIN, on site...so I am pretty sure that it is going to be spectacular. Also! They had a variety of cuts that you can't find in conventional stores like Albertson's or Costco. My favorite cut of meat is a Spencer, and they have it!! And it was beautiful, and $8.99 lb, which is $2.00 less than most places!! Please support this local market if you can!!! read more

While this is certainly a Mexican grocery store, I tried to add it to the restaurant category because of the food service inside. Wonderful traditional Mexican fare at truly reasonable prices. Love the tacos, burritos, and tostadas. Tacos are about a buck and a quarter, and absolutely delicious. Within walking distance of a very nice RV park across the street. read more

Local customer to market and deli. Ordered lunch and got home to have lunch. My order was not what I ordered, kindly went back to store and was treated and spoke to rudely manger when there was no reason for him to be so rude and did not make any attempt to fix his poor service them to top it off refused to make the tacos how I originally ordered them. Never have experienced such unnecessary rude service from deli when I was a frequent cu stoker since I liked there food.
