Counter service with a few tables inside and outside (awning in front for a little shade). Had the chile Colorado burrito, held the cheese, rice and beans). Sauce was so perfect and earthy sweet. Beef had some fatty bits but not an unexpected amount. Beautiful tortillas, hand pressed. Green spicy salsa on the side was an explosion of flavor. So friendly. Got it to go. Can't wait to come back. Menu with prices in photos. Yum.

Fun little taqueria with homemade tortillas and good food! Freshly made so it takes a minute but you can order ahead and pick up. Definitely worth it if you are craving authentic Mexican food. A few tables to sit and eat outside or wait for your food. Easy access and lots of parking. Tip: do NOT skip the flour tortillas... they are Amazing!

The first evening we arrived in the Five Cities area I had to try and find Chacho's. I was so crestfallen when for some reason I couldn't locate it. Probably because it was too dark and I was just trying to find it from memory. Fortunately, my sister took us by the next day. I was so happy! It is a touchstone for people who love Mexican Food. The beans, the rice, the enchiladas, the tacos, everything. The handmade flour tortillas are next level, seriously next level. I've been there when people would come in and order two dozen at a time. They are like no others. Made to order. When I ordered two with my lunch, the very nice women asked me if I wanted butter with them. I replied "they don't need butter" and she just smiled. They really don't. It's just a tiny place with a couple of tables inside and three outside. Definitely worth going out of your way for, if you like really good Mexican food:)

This is the real deal right here. There is nothing better than aunthentic Mexican food. I knew when I walked in there and saw those Senoras working there and cooking, I WAS IN FOR A TREAT. QUALITY and TASTE, that is what they are serving up here. Sure California is known for our superior Mexican Cusine however when you eat here, I feel like I'm back in MEXICO. THATS how the quality and taste is, phonemenal. I ordered a chile relleno burrito. The tortilla itself is a 10/10. AMAZING, fluffy, fresh Flour Tortilla and it was cooked to perfection. The chile relleno stuffed inside was also amazing. In my opinion, the burrito was a bit small but considering the price I'm not complaining at all, just noting on here. If you love Mexican food, do your life a favor and try this place out. Worth the drive and the stop if you ask me. You won't regret coming on by, I'll tell you that much. Gracias Chachos por la comida auténtica! Till text time.

Chachos is a tiny hole in the wall, mostly takeout, but there are a few tables to sit at. I know several people that say this is their favorite Mexican food but I have lived in Oceano for 11 years and this is only the second time that I've been here and it was pretty mediocre. I only got the Carnitas burrito and was pretty surprised by how small it was. I guess the price is a little less than other places, about $11.50, but when I think of Mexican food, I think of cheap rice and beans so I expect a little bit more size. There's really not a lot to say. The tortilla was good, I think it's homemade, but a homemade flour tortilla isn't as special as homemade corn. I wasn't intending on writing a review, but I was a little surprised that I could not find a picture of the menu and wanted to upload something more recent than 3 years ago. Hope this helps.

We had the Monday special, two tacos, beef or chicken. And rice and beans no substitutes. Our total was $ 8.95 each dinner.

Lovely local spot with friendly staff/family and great prices and food portions. We got the Chaco supreme burrito, daily specials, and a couple dinner plates. Food was made fresh to order and they were so free with the delicious salsa. We also last minute got an order of nachos - amazing! Don't live in the area but would be happy to return again on my next trip up the coast!

Fresh tortillas! Do I really need to say anything else? Any burrito will be delicious because of this one simple little practice. We come up from LA and stop at chachos every time.

The food is great. The sizes are huge. We couldn't believe the number of customers that came in while we were waiting for our orders.

This turned out to be very true. Half the customers seemed to know each other. Anyway, the ambiance is pretty thin. Not much to look at and all the food is served in paper or styrofoam containers. Help yourself to some plastic cutlery if needed. However, the food was very tasty. Certainly above average for a basic Mexican place. I ordered the carnitas plate and a chile relleno à la carte. I like to test Mexican restaurants by trying the chile relleno. That was the best part of the meal. Took a few minutes for my order because the relleno was obviously freshly made. Very well roasted poblano with just a little bite to it. Well breaded, fried, and sauced. Carnitas were very tasty as well. Service was a bit odd as they call your number and then stand there and ask you if you want everything on it and then slap it on top in front of you.

While exploring the nearby businesses of the hotel we were staying at, we decided to stop for an early dinner. The place looked quiet, and even though there were very few patrons, we had a short wait before being seated. (This was the first red flag) The restaurant is structured nicely with an open facing entryway to the street, allowing the sun and breeze to flow. The problem, is that it was difficult to admire the interior of the restaurant without ignoring the noticeable spiderwebs and cobwebs in the ceiling and rafters. If I can see them, then I know they can see them. They do however, have very nice indoor and outdoor patio seating, with several tv's throughout. We were served complimentary chips and salsa shortly after we were seated. The chips were light and crispy. The salsa? Awful. Very thin and runny, with absolutely no flavor. We had to have waited a good ten minutes or so before our drink order was taken. Upon taking our drink order, I also placed an order for chips & guacamole. Our waitress was friendly, but curt. After tasting the salsa I chose to play it safe and went with the chile verde enchiladas, and my wife went with the combo plate with a chicken taco and enchilada. By the time we placed our second drink order it was blatantly obvious that our waitress had completely forgotten about our order of chips and guacamole, which was confirmed when our meal arrived. I will say that the margaritas were outstanding, maybe one of the best I've had. To my surprise, the chile verde enchiladas were actually really good. Nice texture, good flavor. The rice was bland and flavorless, and I'm convinced that the black beans were straight from a can. Lacking both flavor and/or seasoning (They weren't even hot) and equally plain. My wife's meal wasn't any better. The chicken was super dry served on a sad and raw tortilla. The beans...disgusting slop. If I had any doubts about whether MY beans were canned, I had absolutely no doubt about hers. These beans were so undoubtedly canned I'm surprised they didn't still have the impression of the tin can on them. No seasoning, no flavor, and lukewarm at best. Enough is enough. I couldn't wait to pay my tab and make a swift exit.
