Very small establishment so I had high hopes because those are usually the best. I got the chicken taco, fish taco, chili verde burrito and chips n salsa. The chicken taco was very bland... definitely added salsa to it. The fish taco was pretty good with a decent sauce. You can tell the tortillas are home made. The chile verde burrito was good. Nice, big chunks of meat. The only thing is a lot of excess tortilla... each bite was half tortilla. I had to rip a lot of it off. Service was good. The first evening we arrived in the Five Cities area I had to try and find Chacho's. I was so crestfallen when for some reason I couldn't locate it. Probably because it was too dark and I was just trying to find it from memory. Fortunately, my sister took us by the next day. I was so happy! It is a touchstone for people who love Mexican Food. The beans, the rice, the enchiladas, the tacos, everything. The handmade flour tortillas are next level, seriously next level. I've been there when people would come in and order two dozen at a time. They are like no others. Made to order. When I ordered two with my lunch, the very nice women asked me if I wanted butter with them. I replied "they don't need butter" and she just smiled. This is the real deal right here. There is nothing better than aunthentic Mexican food. I knew when I walked in there and saw those Senoras working there and cooking, I WAS IN FOR A TREAT. QUALITY and TASTE, that is what they are serving up here. Sure California is known for our superior Mexican Cusine however when you eat here, I feel like I'm back in MEXICO. THATS how the quality and taste is, phonemenal. I ordered a chile relleno burrito. The tortilla itself is a 10/10. AMAZING, fluffy, fresh Flour Tortilla and it was cooked to perfection. The chile relleno stuffed inside was also amazing. In my opinion, the burrito was a bit small but considering the price I'm not complaining at all, just noting on here. FOOD: The food always hits the spot! Homemade tortillas always make the difference! The last visit we got the Thursday's special and it was the chili verde wet burrito. I also got a carne asada burrito, 2 asada tacos and 2 pastor tacos. All tasted great and was made fresh. Decent prices for a mom and pop shop. SERVICE: Can't find the home local vibe than this place. The lady treats you like family. They all do. Very attentive, welcoming and patient. They are also very helpful with any questions about the menu. The food does take a bit of time to come out but it's because it's made to order. I wouldn't mind waiting for some chacho's. AMBIANCE: Not very much seating and space is tight inside the restaurant. I believe it's 2 tables with 4 seats each inside and 3 tables outside with a few chairs. I can imagine the line outside the door when it's prime time. With not so much space there's really not much noise unless there's plenty of people ordering. There's air circulating throughout the place so it does not seem suffocating. Clean tables. No public restrooms but that's fine. Well lit dining area. Highly recommend their burritos with the homemade tortillas. I definitely will be coming back to try other items. Fair price and portions. Great service with friendly staff. They don't skimp on giving salsas. Order ahead if you are in a rush just because there could be a long line and a wait for your food. Chachos is a tiny hole in the wall, mostly takeout, but there are a few tables to sit at. I know several people that say this is their favorite Mexican food but I have lived in Oceano for 11 years and this is only the second time that I've been here and it was pretty mediocre. I only got the Carnitas burrito and was pretty surprised by how small it was. I guess the price is a little less than other places, about $11.50, but when I think of Mexican food, I think of cheap rice and beans so I expect a little bit more size. There's really not a lot to say. The tortilla was good, I think it's homemade, but a homemade flour tortilla isn't as special as homemade corn. I wasn't intending on writing a review, but I was a little surprised that I could not find a picture of the menu and wanted to upload something more recent than 3 years ago. There was only 1 other customer in the clean, brightly lit interior. Even still, I got the sense that phone orders are preferred over walk-ins. But I ordered my standard Mexican takeout choices of an Asada Burrito & Chicken Taco without looking at the menu. After a short wait at one of the 2 inside tables my number was called. I rushed back to my hotel to eat. NICE! Excellent taco & burrito. The tortillas stood out. They were thicker than what I'm used to. Yet they had the appropriate textures, separately for the taco & burrito. This seemed to make them taste especially good. The meat was cooked-right with good seasoning, cebolla y cillantro incluidos. Excellent sauces too. The green was ultra spicy. The red was mild. Chacho's is now in my dinner rotation for my future Pismo-area visits. I'll call-in first. read more

The hubby and I love Mexican food and we love to try the small family restaurants. Found this place on yelp and we live just down the road from it so we gave it a try. It's a small place , can't miss it from the street as it's a bright yellow building, but size doesn't matter if the food is good and I'm here to tell you it's yummy good. We walked in was greeted by a lady with a big smile later found out her name was Jess. We ordered their special the Chili verde wet burrito plate plus chips and salsa. First you can't go wrong with their prices. I ordered 2 meals and added a tip and it came to just a little over $20. Now for the food. Home made tortillas the best. Everything tasted so authentic. Their salsas which they have a red and green one. The red very flavorful with a little heat and the green ( wow) with extra heat. We tried both with our chips and then hubby at the end mixed them together and it went to another level of goodness. I couldn't eat all mine so I made sure I added that green salsa so I can continue to enjoy it later. The people here are so sweet. One of the cooks even came out and greeted us since it was our first time. We will definitely be back to enjoy great food and outstanding customer service. read more
