Huge shoutout to THOMAS DUDA at Central Maine Motors! Not only was he able to get me the car of my dreams, he did what 3 other dealers in the area would not do: sell me a car! We came in with financing from our credit union and nobody else at other dealers would even entertain us, let alone make us feel welcome. Thomas was incredible from the very first phone call to the last conversation at the gas pump while he filled up our gas tank in the new car. I 1000% recommend him, and will follow him to whatever dealership he's at. He worked really hard to make me feel included in the process, he was transparent and was super patient with me. He never pressured me into buying anything extra but he was thorough in explaining my options. Not only did he juggle multiple guests every time I was there; he was cordial + genuine to every one of us, but more importantly: he tried to make the process as quick as possible without making anyone feel rushed or neglected. He was the only one in the sales room the night we went to pick up our car and he was treating every guest just as important as the next. I can't speak on the rest of the sales team with the exception of brief interactions but everyone was friendly and helpful! The service rep was extremely disrespectful, making jokes when I picked up my truck saying oh, you're the truck with the surprise $800 bill. She also took a phone call while trying to help me checkout. I had plans on having my RAV4 serviced with their sister dealership, but I've canceled that appointment and will use Charlie's of Augusta. Whatever you do, do NOT take your car there for an inspection sticker! I took my mother-in-law's Lexus SUV there on 11/11/23 for a sticker. Usual wait, then i was told the car failed inspection because "front wiper blades not clearing windshield", and "oil leaking on exhaust." The "advisor" was all ready to make me a service appointment to correct these, oh, and by the way, "we recommend new front brake pads and rotors. We can do those at the same time". Of course you can. I just started laughing, paid my $12.50 to get out of there, went to another, reputable garage, who inspected the car thoroughly, saw none of those issues, put the sticker on, and sent me on my way. Lesson learned. They use inspection appointments to create service $$$$ read more

I bought a vehicle from them in 2021- a 2018 Kia Sportage. I was told by them that no recalls were currently active on the vehicle. Fast-forward 3 years said vehicle is now non-operational. Because a recall (that was active in 2018!!!) was not caught by them, I now have a bill of $10,000 for a new motor. I have contacted Central Main Motors multiple times, and they refuse to take ownership of this missed recall. I had my vehicle towed to a certified Kia dealership and was told the reason the engine blew is due to a safety recall. I let Central Maine Motors know and they told me that the Kia dealership doesn't know what they are talking about and that it's up to the manufacturer to fix. The General Manager himself, stated that most of the used vehicles they sell have safety recalls that they do not legally have to fix. He also stated that "although he sympathizes with my situation, it's out of their hands". My children (4-year-old and 1 year old) were in the vehicle when it broke down. I'm a single mother who bought this vehicle with money I inherited from my father after he passed away from cancer. I bought the vehicle in hopes it would be reliable and safe for my children. I have tried to reason with Central Maine and keep getting no help. I've been told multiple times they would reach back out and no one has. I've had to initiate every interaction by going back and forth between both Central Maine and the Kia certified dealership to see what can be done. I got a follow up email 3 days after I was told managers would start to be involved and the certified dealership would be contacted by Central Maine Motors. The email asked, "How are you making headway on your motor?"...... I replied with a lengthy email about my dissatisfaction with the lack of communication on their end. I received a phone call within 10 minutes of my reply (from the gentleman who sold said vehicle) and was greeted with "I have no control when or even if someone will contact you." The unprofessionalism from them is absolutely disgusting. The manager there was extremely arrogant and rude. He kept talking over me when I was trying to explain myself, stating "Oh I'm very much well aware of the situation". He also told me they do not legally have to have the vehicles certified by the proper personnel. He states that no other dealership he knows does that. He then states how it's also illegal for them to service a vehicle they are not certified to do so. Ironically though, I've had my vehicle serviced with them since the day I bought it. I signed a service agreement stating I could ONLY bring my vehicle there or that agreement would be voided. I then spoke with the Kia dealership, and they state that I would not have been notified of any recalls before I purchased in 2021. I've relayed all information from the Kia dealership to Central Maine with the response of "they have no idea what they are talking about". I also sent proof of the recall that the Kia dealership found to Central Maine, with, yet again, the same response "they don't know what they're talking about". Ironically enough, the person I have been communication with at the Kia dealership, has been the manager of the service department. I don't know how this place has been in business as long as it has. Especially with how unethical and immoral they are. The fact that my kid's safety is no concern to them, is absolutely disgusting. I have brought my vehicle there for every oil change. Ironically, every time I have the oil changed and tires rotated, there's something else wrong with my vehicle. And every quote I've gotten for these "repairs that are needed", are over $1,000. I now have the option of paying upwards of $10,000 for a new motor for a vehicle I bought for $17,0000.... Never again will I give them a dime. read more

They said I needed my steering system (rack and pinion) done-fluid all over the underneath of the car they said. I only drove the car 5k miles from when I purchased it a year ago I responded. I bought it from you guys and you said it had a 60 point check done on it. Went to another mechanic for a 2nd opinion, who said the steering system was totally fine-no fluid leaks underneath either. What are they talking about? The steering system was great. I owned the car 6 more years and did 6 more inspections with other places who never found a problem with the steering or loss of fluids. Never had to add a drop of steering fluid either. Beware of Central Maine Motors and their free inspection sticker when you buy here. They use that free stickers to reel you in for business and work that you really don't need. read more

Very little communication from anyone in service. I also specifically called and left several voice-mail that were never answered. This was also the same experience that my insurance adjustor had as well. Additionally, I asked for an inspection to be completed while the vehicle was there and that was not done and not communicated. The insurance also requested that a special screen be installed and that was not done and again, no communication. Piss poor service and will not be back. Nor will I ever again purchase a vehicle from you nor recommend you to family and friends. You know what they say... bad reviews spread faster than good ones... read more

I originally posted this on March 2022 on Google; I'll be leaving my story as it progresses. my current vehicle: 2016 Jeep Compass purchased in (Oct 2019) 27,000mi, has now (May 1, 2022) 45,00"I'm sure we'll get you right in and out of here" for an oil change and inspection turned into 2 hours and 15 minutes with no heads up. After coming to get me, they then proceeded to attempt to charge me to replace a part covered under my warranty. $600 of repair and replacement: 12,000 miles in. Their service has been good thus far, the shuttle service is nice and the video they sometimes take of the underneath of the vehicle is impressive. My review is of this experience; I will update this following future good experiences. Edit (Added Below this line on May 1) 44,500mi Compass is not operational. I get it to them for an issue with acceleration and they send me home, then keeping the vehicle. They call me 3 days later, "$800, it is not covered by your extended warranty; it might be ready by Thursday; we will not provide a rental." As I work in customer service myself, I won't share the name of my agent. He is simply a relay for the policies that protect Chrysler and Central Maine Motors. Sadly, as a consumer, I do not have such protections afforded to me. I hadn't hoped to update this review with another bad experience; I bought this vehicle at 27,000 miles and I haven't quite gotten to 45,000 yet. read more

We purchased a used 2018 GMC Terrain for $20,000 from Central Maine Motors in Waterville. We overpaid for the vehicle. There was paint missing and they promised to get the touch up paint. We spoke with the manager and they repeatedly lied to us. We never received the touch up paint! They only gave us $500 for our 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck. They said they were going to junk it. We would never deal with Central Maine Motors again! read more

Quick to rush the sale then they basically abandon you. Sold me a Tahoe. Had issues with radio cutting out. Called them. " yeah thats commin with tahoes, suburbans and silveradoes". Ok, so are you going to fix the faulty vehicle you sold me? " i can work out a quote". No, you can fix it for free since you sold an inferior product. They overcharge for everything, do the minimal amount of work and rip off disabled veterans such as myself. They wouldn't inspect my vehicle i bought from them, citing multiple imaginary issues. Brought it to a different chevy dealer and it passed with flying colors. Also, you get no cell phone service at their dealership even tho the next building over has full service...... Terrible service. They could figure out what was wrong with my cooling system but instead quoted my over $2500 for brakes, battery test, transmission line and tires. Then charged me $170 just to look at my car and add coolant and tell me that they don't know what's wrong. read more

I have received excellent service from Central Maine Motors for many years, and members of my family have bought several vehicles there. I went in last week to see about test driving a 2014 Buick Verano. I had already done some online research and decided that the Verano would be a reliable and comfortable vehicle. The salesman, Keith Carasiti, was very responsive to all of my questions and did not make me feel pressured in any way. He worked with me and helped me in getting the car I wanted at a reasonable price. I would definitely recommend Keith and Central Maine Motors to anyone looking for a good new or used car. read more

Watch the service department. My GF brought her vehicle there for a service and they said the the rear brakes needed to be replaced. She didn't know better and I was unavailable. They charged over $500 on brakes that never needed to be replaced. They had been replaced less than 20,000 miles prior to this service and were inspected at the last service with over 50% of useful life left. This is apparently a common practice there. read more

I came in a year ago and bought 2 vehicles from them within a week thinking they would give us a good deal. After doing research I learned they way over charged us and all their me fees are added in prior. Now a year later after I get in an accident they assess my value of my used 07 Tacoma and it's over $6000 less than I paid for it not including my warranty! They have a manager there I would never work with again and the other manager who was personable but never calls back or follows up on things he said he would do. (Which I mind you was only to give me a used set of tires to swap for the scalloped ones that came on my wife's vehicle) My wife's used RAV4 she received never ran right from day one and anytime we brought it in they just wanted to give us a laundry list of things we need to pay for on a vehicle we just bought with warranty and gap insurance. Needless to say we might as well trade it in because we still owe $2000 more then its value a year later. Bad business people to work with and I'll bring my money to Charlie's, Downeast or out of state in the future before I give them my time again. No way to fix broken service like this then to start all over. I also heard from an employee how everyone wants to be salesman because the service center our back doesn't pay well.
