I always enjoy going to pick up essentials like wee-wee pads for my dogs, cat food, treats, plants,…read moreand more. The staff is consistently friendly and efficient, which makes the experience even better. On a recent visit, I was especially touched by a kind and empathetic young man who helped me. He asked how I was doing, and I ended up venting a bit -- I've been dealing with knee pain lately. The way he listened and showed genuine compassion and kindness really stood out. It's something we don't see often enough these days, especially from younger people. I, unfortunately, didn't catch his name -- it was short, started with a "J", and he was a tall, Spanish-speaking young man with curly hair. If you know who he is, please pass along my thanks. His kindness meant a lot.

Furniture, pillows, plants, artwork, baby items, home decor, tshirts, Knick knacks, LITERALLY SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE!! And I haven't even talked about their seasonal items!! When I'm there, the staff makes me feel like I am the only one in the store, so attentive and kind! Prices are great- whether you have $20 or $2000 to spend, you probably won't leave empty-handed!! Not only is it cool that Makinson is the oldest actively running small business in the state, but the staff go out of their way to assist you the moment you walk through the doors. They're extremely knowledgable and friendly and I can get in and out far quicker than at any other nearby hardware store.
