Lovely day on Sta Margarita Ranch, with our guide, Brian.

Beautiful Sta Margarita Ranch tour with guide Brian, who's very knowledgeable and interesting. Anyone who has friends and family staying should take the opportunity. It's a fabulous experience..

Second time on a ride and awesome both times! We had Kaila as our guide and she's the best. Makes sure we are all comfortable and gave us a great ride through beautiful scenery. We have ridden Sam, Danny, GG, Durango, and Jonny Cash. They were all the best horses! Definitely will be back!

We aren't horse people, but decided to add horseback riding into our valentine's day weekend get away. We enjoyed the 1.5 hours ride through the ranch. The air was a bit crisp, but it's really sunny which made everything that much better. The owner Brian and his daughter led the ride, he was very friendly, funny and also very knowledgeable about the local history, which made our ride even more fun! We are also impressed that the site has two regular toilets that you can sit down to do your business, not those terrible porta party. You can see that they take care of their horses. Overall, a great experience!

Here is the entrance. It is directly across from the Zip Line Adventures entrance.

Wonderful experience! The sunset ride was so beautiful! Highly recommend this one. Brian provided excellent communications via text messages and voice calls for the booking process. Once there, he provided detailed instruction specific to each horse. Grace was also very kind and helpful along the trail as a guide. If you want pictures of you riding, you have to advocate for yourself and request to have the guide take them for you. She will airdrop them to you after. Please be kind and tip! There is on-site restrooms. I went during Summer, and all the grass is dry. I was told that after the rains, everything is green and lush with tall grasses and streams. I will go back for that!

My boyfriend and I found Central Coast Trail Rides through a quick Google search, and we were not disappointed! We wanted a one-of-a-kind experience to celebrate our anniversary, and we definitely got it with this family-run small business. Brian responded to our inquiry right away and was incredibly responsive through both text and calls. Payment was simple with the online link he provided, and directions to the stables were straightforward--even taking an Uber there worked out fine. Just be sure to use the GPS coordinates since there's no direct address. When we arrived, we were welcomed with a thoughtful basket stocked with sunscreen and bug spray, plus a variety of optional helmets to choose from. Brian, the owner and our trail guide, had already matched us with horses tailored to our riding experience, which made us feel comfortable and taken care of right from the start. We booked a private trail ride at the end of the day, and it couldn't have been more magical. Riding through golden hour light filtering down through tree canopies, passing by Quarry Vineyard at Ancient Peaks Winery, spotting a bald eagle perched near its nest, and weaving through cow pastures--it was a true treat from beginning to end. The cooler evening breeze was an added bonus during a hot August weekend. Highly recommend booking with Central Coast Trail Rides if you want to soak up the beauty of the Central Coast and enjoy a truly unique experience!

If you want to try horse back riding for the first time I definitely recommend trying Central Coast Trail Rides, they have amazing staff and services, the trails are wonderful and horses are well maintained and great ! 10/10 recommend !

What a wonderful experience. This was my first time on a horse since I was a child. I have been trying to overcome my fears and horse riding was one of them. My husband and I along with another couple had an evening ride with our guide named Summer. She put me on a gem of a horse called Pepper. Summer was kind and patient with me and my fears. After I got the hang of the movements and how to control. the horse, I relaxed and had a beautiful ride. I plan to do this again next year and even go for a ride back home. Thank you for taking photos and sharing with us. My FACEBOOK friends are greatly impressed

10/10 would do again. We did the sunset ride and sip with me and my girlfriend. I'm a bigger dude (220lbs) and they were still able to accommodate me. Our guide was a great guy

One of the best trail rides ever! We are experienced riders and grew up on a ranch with my own horse. This was beyond perfect. From the staff and wrangler to the wildlife we saw along the ride (wild pigs, bald eagles, coyote, rabbit, herds of gentle cattle, hawks, squirrels, herds of deer, and more) everything was lovely. Our wrangler was funny, engaging, checked in on everyone for safety and comfort throughout the ride and took photos to share after. It was a great way to spend my 50th birthday and I cannot wait to go again.

Brian and Crystal were amazing and made booking seamless. The guided horseback trail ride was absolutely breathtaking and peaceful. The trail ride took you through various parts of their property which consisted of open land, beautiful large trees, and a creek. Besides the horses and cows, you got to see many wild animals like pigs and a bald eagles nest. Would definitely recommend for anyone who is looking for a relaxing and healing ride.

We were visiting for our anniversary and decided to do the 1.5 hour ride. Brian took us out and it was so wonderful! We road Pepper, who liked to snack along the way like me, and Cortez who did a wonderful job carrying my 6'2" husband. We got to see a bald eagle nest with babies and a mama (an absolutely amazing thing to see) and rode through lush areas, by vineyards and up and down some hills. Truly wonderful experience and we will be back!

    Gorgeous trails

If you're looking for a trail ride along the Central Coast, Central Coast Trail Rides is the place to go! I've ridden with both Central Coast Trail Rides and Paso Robles Pastures, and the difference between the two was night and day. From the moment I reached out, Crystal was incredibly accommodating--even fitting in a last-minute ride for my family. The booking process was quick and seamless, and their customer service was exceptional. When we arrived at the ranch, we were warmly greeted by Brian and Crystal. Their horses were beautiful, clearly well cared for, and matched perfectly to each rider's experience level. Brian led us on a stunning ride through the property, which is a working cattle ranch and vineyard. He was a fantastic guide--pointing out local wildlife (including an eagle's nest!) and sharing fascinating details about the land. The scenery ranged from shaded trails to grassy knolls and rolling hills, making for a truly memorable ride. This family-run business goes above and beyond to create a great experience, and I can't recommend them enough. If you're deciding between Central Coast Trail Rides and Paso Robles Pastures--go with Central Coast. My experience at Paso Pastures was disappointing: I was yelled at by the trail guide when my horse picked up pace and again when I took my phone out to snap a photo of the view. As an experienced rider, I found the horses, scenery, and overall customer service lacking in comparison.

Our family of 12 had a great time celebrating my wife's birthday with Brian and his team. They made our one- hour ride so much fun. They were professional, organized and very engaging with each one of our riders, sharing stories, answering questions and making sure we were comfortable and fitted correctly. The horses are very well trained, and even our 7 year old granddaughter was having a great time riding on her own. Five stars all the way, thank you Brian!

I was once a happy repeat customer, but when trying to book last year, a representative told me, word for word (see emails in photos), this: "We are currently not servicing single passengers due to the work required... your patronage is simply untenable, financially." Wow, my patronage is simply untenable. That's straight up greed with a dose of haughty nastiness. I've never heard anything like that before, ever, from any business, and I've dealt with some truly awful and shady businesses before. Also: want to bring your pup along?
