What a blast!! I was here with a group and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It's a very friendly and welcoming environment. The owner was super nice. Our host, Faith Miller, was just INCREDIBLE! And...she just so happens to be a World Champion archer. Say what! It's true, a REAL World Champion (look her up) who also happened to be super humble, gracious, and patient. She made sure that we had a good time and learned the basics. She also gave us a demo at the end and made it all look so easy. I highly recommend this spot. read more

Had a great time at Central Coast Archery. great instructor and customer service was fantastic. We felt really comfortable as beginners and would love to go back again. I recommend this place if you're in the area and want to try something unique. Plenty of parking on the lot and the price was great as well. read more

A spur of the moment visit to get more information about the hobby of target archery turned into a bulls eye for me because with the guidance, patience, and knowledge of Scott I ended up leaving ready to embark on my archery adventure. As with starting any new hobby or sport it can be overwhelming with all of the gadgets and 'necessities' that come with it. I knew I wanted to invest in the basics that would enable me to be successful. Scott showed me many items and explained their use. I felt at ease working with him because I didn't feel like he was trying to upsell me on anything. He offered numerous tips on the steps of shooting, body posture, and safety while I was there. I ended up spending about 10 minutes at the indoor range making sure the bow I was purchasing was the best fit for me. He then suggested I practice taking the string off and on the bow which is a bit of a challenge for a novice. I left very satisfied with my experience at CCA and confident that I will be well equipped once I start my new adventure. read more

This place was outstanding! The customer service was top notch and we had such a great time. As someone new to archery, I was definitely a little nervous, but they walked us through all the steps and gave tips and pointers throughout, without being overwhelming. We ended up coming back the day after we rented some equipment to actually buy a bow because we enjoyed the experience so much. Everyone was so kind and knowledgeable and we look forward to visiting again! read more

We had an amazing time here! It was my first time attempting archery. My boyfriend has tried it a couple of times. I wish we asked for the name of the man who helped us. We originally called a week earlier, thinking we needed a reservation. During the phone call, we asked if beginners should take the class or if we could just go in and shoot. They said that we can walk in, and they will show us the basics and set us up! We chose to shoot for an hour. Our instructor showed us the basics, how to hold the bow, what to look for when shooting and other useful tips! It was a ton of fun. I was very nervous at first, but I was able to hit the target a good chunk of the time which I was very proud of...hahaha! Everyone there was extremely friendly...Customers and everyone working there. We almost went back the next day!!! Thanks again central coast archery! read more

We decided to come here for Ryan S.'s birthday. We had a group of 13 people and got the place to ourselves for an hour. There are five lanes, so we took turns going up to shoot. The instructors were friendly and helpful. Although, it would have been more fun if we were able to play a game or keep scores to have some sort of competition. But at the same time, I knew our group was a bit large to manage that. So I would recommend going with a smaller sized group. read more

The best service in the central coast. Scott, Joel, and Chris have the best personalities. Super friendly and knowledgeable about their products. The cost is fair and comparable to manufactures price. You cannot beat the experience of each staff member on archery gear. These guys take great care of their customers. Had a great time here for my friends birthday! There were 13 of us, so my friend called ahead and booked an hour for us. For $15 an hour, which included bow and arrows, lessons and unlimited shooting, it was an amazing deal! Our instructors were great. They went through the safety stuff as fast as possible and got us all up and shooting quickly. They continuously monitored us and advised on how to make our shots better. A couple of us hit the bulls-eye on multiple occasions! The lane for groups that big can have up to 5 shooting at a time and we just rotated out. I'd say each person got to shoot at least 6-7 times! Overall, a great place to go shooting! I highly would recommend. read more

Found this place on yelp during a recent visit to SLO. Establishment was quaint. Prices were competitive and staff was nice. The only thing I'd like to recommend is the communication between the business and the customer. Arrived 10 mins pior to our reservation. Checked in and class didn't start until 15-20 mins after the scheduled time. Nothing was communicated we just sat there waiting to be called. Other than that everyone had a great time. read more

Our first time in and certainly not our last. We came for our kids and called aheas to reserve lanes as we were told they are often busy on the weekend. We and our kids had a great time the staff was friendly and oh so helpful. One staff was with our girls the entire our- give advice and pointers. The only downside is that the range itself was smaller than I would have thought and with 7 of the 8 lanes taken up it was a bit crowded read more

Such a great time here earlier today! My husband and I were visiting SLO for our anniversary weekend and decided to choose one more activity to do before we drove back home. We stumbled upon this place with a basic web search and we couldn't be more thrilled that we did! Neither one of us had ever shot a bow before so we were a little nervous, but from the moment that we arrived we felt welcomed and assured that we could do it! We had a short demonstration and then started right away (we paid for an hour $20 per person). It was not only fun and exciting, but we also walked away feeling more skilled and knowledgeable in this new sport! I scored major points with my husband for finding this place--traveling through on a road trip and this is now one of the highlights. Gabriel was so helpful in giving us each a brief tutorial on shooting, plus encouragement as we progressed. An hour in the lanes with lots of opportunity to improve our aim (or at least he did!) and I had a blast as well. My two sons, ages 10 and 6, and I had a great time here shooting bows for the first time ever. Scott was patient, attentive, and educational about the bows and arrows. He made sure we used them safely and provided a comfortable, engaging environment for us to learn and practice. It was great that the target distances were variable so that we could start out close and as we got more comfortable during the hour-long session, shoot at greater distances (first about 6 yards and eventually the full 17 yards). I wish I lived in SLO just so we could frequent this business. *Just a note that my six year-old needed my supervision to shoot so we took turns with bows. He could shoot the bow but needed help with loading the arrows and reminders about safety rules. read more

Do you want the best archery experience on the central coast? Then look no further than central coast archery. I started my archery experience in my backyard but three years ago I discovered CCA. They have been instrumental in my journey to compete and hunt with a recurve. Scott and Joel are father and son co owners who's knowledge, patients, and expertise are second to non. They have a great selection on bows both recurve and compound alike. Their service is excellent and if they don't have what your looking for their connections with some of the biggest archery distributors can get you what you need and competitive prices. How did I not know this place was here?! My husband and I and his siblings went yesterday and we had a blast! It's $20 per person for an hour and it's worth it! (Includes using they're bows and arrows they have there) it was so much fun to learn how to shoot and it was just a fun little competition between us all :) we will definitely be returning and bringing new people with us every time because everyone should try this! All the workers there are so nice and informative on everything,it was neat to learn a few tricks too! read more

This team here is epic! We brought a group in for a team building event and the staff was super helpful in getting us set up (since this was most of our first time). It was a really fun experience! Our team was able to compete with one another and enjoy their time too. Shooting the balloons at the end was really exciting - it's the little things. We will be back for more. read more

We decided to take our out of town friends on a day long San Luis adventure that started at the dunes and ended here at Central Coast Archery. First off they were really accommodating when I had to move our appointment time back twice, and once we got there, the team was great. They were helpful, knowledgeable and we all had a great time! They really only care about making money off the customer and I never felt like I had their attention. They only spend time tuning your equipment if you're buying it brand new off of them, and even then their stuff is way over priced. Go anywhere else. read more

Looking for a place to shoot some arrows with friendly, helpful people? Look no further. We stopped by this place during a weekend getaway to SLO and had an amazing time. The staff was laid back, and helpful without being pushy. He walked us through the safety tips, gave us a little training sesh and let us go at it. The clientele was also so sweet, just people who love archery and are more than willing to adjust your sights for you instead of shooting themselves. A must-try if you, like me, want to get your Hunger Games on but don't know where to start. So awesome. read more

I have been bitten by the archery bug, and I'm a fan! This place is great. It's family-owned and when I went with a group, the owner and his son were both on hand to help us with the basic rules and etiquette of archery, as well as watch us shoot and help us adjust our grip and technique. I went with a pretty large group, and we all got individual attention and enough time with the bows to really show some improvement! It was a really excellent outing for a group. They are however a pretty small facility and very busy the day we were there. We stopped in to shoot and had to set up an appointment to come back later. The owner said they're usually pretty busy, so if you want to get shooting right away, make an appointment! They also have adult and child classes weekly for real archery addicts, something I hope to take advantage of in the future! read more

I have to say Im impressed with the service I received today. What a great family run business. I was promptly greeted by the owners son when I walked in. Very eager to help. He spent probably 3 hours with me, going over different bows and products. Set up a couple of bows so I could try before I bought one. Took me on the range, gave me pointers, made adjustments as he felt were needed. After I made my choice, he went over the bow completely. Made sure everything was tight and were it should be. Once again, very polite, very professional. I watched his daughter teach a couple of classes while i was there. She was very professional, very personable and very knowledgeable as the rest were. If you are looking to buy a bow, accessories or looking for an indoor range to shoot at, this is the place. Well worth my drive from Paso Robles. Thank you for your awesome service. This place is amazing. Hands down some of the best customer service ever. Scott (owner), his son Joel and another helper have all helped me multiple times and you can tel they care. I started archery a month ago and Scott had me try different set ups to see which shot the best for me. I couldn't be happier with a Cen Coast. They (Joel) fitted my bow perfectly to me: draw, sights, peep sight etc. Joel even moved the peep sight a few times when he thought it was a fraction of a millimeter off. You can just tell they care and want to help. Since then it has become addicting. I'll be joining an archery league there and may even start doing some tournaments just because the community is so nice and some of the customers/shooters/friends I have met shooting there all day it is a lot of fun; even for someone with minimal experience like me. The range is 17 yards and you can shoot at a shorter distance if needed. When I was really dialing in my sight (they sat there, watched, made the needed adjustments) with the employee I was impressed with how dead on we were able to get it. After a short time it was so dead on I "Robin Hooded" an arrow! Fun the first time but I wouldn't want to do that too much as arrows cost a few bucks each. I highly recommend this place. read more

Really cool range with really nice staff. We came in for a bachelors party with a group of 7 and they were more than accommodating. I really appreciated that once they gave us the explanation and supervised the first few rounds they let us do our own thing and checked in every now and again. They also offered a game to hit a suspended ping pong ball which was a fun change of pace. Small place but really fun and laid back and really cheap! Highly recommend. read more

Wish I could give them a outstanding review but with one person working outfitting arrows ( the owner) and know one else to help? To top it off waited 15 minutes at the counter with not even a hi or any acknowledgement you have a long way to go in customer service, but look on the bright side, it should be going up from here, let's hope. Will try back another day and hopefully you'll have more than just the owner working . So we came back and things were much better they are new just open 5 months. They are working out the kinks. We had a great time so I have to give them a higher review. They are a family run business and the kids are great especially the Daughter, Katelyn. She was great with kids and I will be back with my kids. Thanks. read more

I have been very impressed with the professionalism of this shop. I'm leaving the area, and it's one thing I will really miss. Now, I'm getting ticked. Clearly, these two couldn't give a rat's behind that another customer has been waiting well over 5 minutes for service. The clerk never once bothers to acknowledge my presence or bother to call for help. Then the explosion comes as I call out, "Have you two solved the world's problems, yet?" They briefly turn to me, look SURPRISED - which just shows how rude and clueless they are - BUT THEY QUICKLY TURN BACK TO EACH OTHER AND KEEP CONVERSING SLOWLY AND QUIETLY. Is this really happening, I think to myself? Am I being punked? Finally I say to the woman, " You know, you've been there for ten minutes, and my time is valuable, too." They exchange meaningful looks and he rolls his eyes and THEN DECIDES TO CALL FOR BACKUP, WHICH NEVER COMES. Finally they finish, and she just brushes past me with no apology. The selfishness of this interaction with these two was just jaw- dropping as I could never imagine myself doing that to another customer. And what's with the sanctimonious, unprofessional clerk? He must surely know that he's lost a customer for good, but no apology is ever forthcoming - just snarky imperiousness coming from him. Good riddance to this place!

Especially for items like this I want to be able to try things in person…read more Staff count didn't seem much different than any other REI for that size, and someone did ask if I needed help. Shoe dept got overwhelmed when I was there which was a bummer since that's what I wanted to try. Did a pick up order which was fast and easy. Not sure what else they offer as compared to larger city REIs but for most of your needs it seems like a good location.
