I think they are shooting for the title "worst customer service of all businesses"! They will win hands down at this pace! They don't answer their phone and the phone system is horrible!! Always stuck on hold until it hangs up in 30 minutes. No way to leave a voice message, can't get a call back (without losing your place in line) like other companies and every 5 seconds while on hold you'll get two loud God awful beeps in your ears! I was loyal to them, spent THOUSANDS...in fact I have a 6inch stack of free stickers from all the $50+ orders I placed over the years.... and could always count on Golden State Overnight shipping..that was a huge plus. But ever since they opened a shipping hub on the east coast, it is spotty whether I'll get GSO or UPS...usually UPS now so I know my order is coming from the east coast. NOT WORTH IT TO ME ANYMORE. TW lost me and I'm SURE they don't care. Last month I wrote a review for American Legacy Fishing Co, and it made me realize that I had never written a review for Tackle Warehouse, my "usual" online fishing tackle supplier. Over the years, I have ordered thousands of dollars worth of fishing tackle & gear from Tackle Warehouse. Hands down, they have the best selection of tackle, there's no argument there. Prices are competitive with other tackle retailers, but honestly, I usually just wait for sales, which often happen on Holidays, like Christmas or the 4th the July. Everything is always packaged correctly, occasionally, my orders are spilt into two separate shipments, but that's no Big Deal to me. And I always get Free Shipping, because I make sure my orders are over $50. Sometimes the order will take a few more days longer to arrive, than say LandBigFish.com, but that's only because TW is on the West coast and LBF is closer to me. Again, no Big Deal, I'm happy with Tackle Warehouse and will continue to order from them when I need more fishing tackle, I'd say a good 75% of my fishing tackle purchases every year are from Tackle Warehouse. I don't get the all negative reviews for Tackle Warehouse, it certainly hasn't been my experience for the last 15 years of being a customer with them. read more

They deleted my "WishList". I was using it to store not only things I wanted to buy, but also things I bought on a regular basis. It saved me time and made purchases easier. When I complained, I was told that they routinely delete these list that are over a year old. Basically, tough luck. Ive ordered thousands of dollars worth of stuff and this by far is the worst yet. Ive ordered new baits just for them to call me and tell me one of the colors is backordered and I won't be able to get it. Then next day they ship it and guess what another color is just not shipped because I assume it also got backordered and they ain't care to even tell me . At this point its their fault for selling stuff they don't have and need to at least compensate me with some sorta discount at least because all they doing is making a problem they had and just handing it over to me without any sorta consideration at all. On 12/20/2025 I ordered a number of items from TW and my credit card charged for the order. On 12/22/25 I received an email stating that one of the items, for which I was charged $10.12 plus tax, was out of stock and that I refunded for the item. However, when I checked the refund, I found that TW refunded me only $8.43. When I contacted TW about the short refund, they informed me on 12/22 that the error would be corrected and the full amount refunded. On 1/7/26, weeks after the correction was to have been made, I again emailed TW about the missing money. On 1/8/26 TW responded that the refund of $8.43 had been made and the issue considered closed. Worst Customer Service EVER Paid for UPS 2 day with the intention of getting my gear prior to my Northern Michigan Smallmouth trip. I ordered on a Wednesday morning. On the intended delivery day (Friday), I received an email stating that the 2 day delivery is now arriving on a Tuesday (instead of Friday). That's 6 days from my order day...and I paid for expedited delivery! That's an UNACCEPTABLE level of customer service from a company that bills itself as a leader in fishing tackle. I will NOT repeat. I wish Amazon had more variety of fishing gear. Tackle ordered at the same time from Amazon arrived on Friday, as promised, As I am a Prime member, shipping was free. This place has the best selection of rods, reels, and bait I've found for an online retailer so far. Not only are the prices usually unmatched but they have incredible sales all the time I don't buy from anywhere else after I had a rod come in and the eyelets were crooked and the rod scratched they replaced the order immediately. Had an issue with a gift card I received from a family member for Christmas the family member sent it to the wrong email and they took care of it immediately and I used it that very night. Long time customer of Tacklewarehouse, ending my relationship with this retailer today. Paid $15 for overnight shipping for an item I needed for a fishing trip. Confirmed the correct shipping address in PayPal, submitted payment through Paypal, Paypal email receipt shows correct shipping address. Tacklewarehouse sent to the wrong address. Mistakes happen, no problem! Called up customer service. They refused to waive the overnight shipping fee. Refused to even waive priority shipping on a replacement order. Basically told me they have a website design flaw where they don't accept the PayPal shipping address and tough shit. They did offer to reroute the shipment for an extra charge! The nerve! Their screw up and they want to charge me more to make it right. I know this is a big name in tackle, but there are better places to get your gear. The Hook Up tackle will get all my business now. I'd rather wait on restock from a good company than get screwed over by these guys again. read more

Was real hesitant to give them a shot from these reviews. Made a small test purchase. Items shipped quickly, they were in constant contact throughout the process and items showed up several days later with no issue. Made a much larger purchase after. Through my fault the billing address was incorrect and they were on top of it emailed me immediately and received multiple responses within the hour getting it handled and shipped off just as quick as if I had done it correctly. Their prices were lower than all the stores in my area and I would highly recommend them. I'm glad I gave them a shot and they will have my return business from here on out. SLOW. Ordered material 5/30 to make sure I had plenty of time for late June vacation.... called 6/16/21 and gave up after being on hold for 20 minutes. Summited order status request by email and got a response that was basically.... "too bad". it took 2.5 weeks and counting to pick the inventory that is currently in stock (I checked). TW was having a problem with my address at my credit card bank. I called the bank and confirmed the address was correct. I called TW for the 3rd time to correct this and I spoke to someone who had ZERO interest in helping me fix this problem. I asked to be put on a three way phone conversation with my bank. Nope. They called me, while I was working on the water, and wanted to run extra charges on my card, then have me do some kind of reverse "security check". I've worked in retail and own 2 businesses. Absolutely HORRID customer service. When you call they will promise you the world, but BEWARE!!! After over 5 attempts to have just a tracking number for a high end fish finder that was supposed to have been shipped over a week ago they make up ANOTHER story about fraud and order cancelation, wrong phone number entered, and then no tracking number. If you are expecting to receive anything from these guys DON'T just get a refund and go somewhere else... I talked to not only their customer service online but also by calling the store and even spoke with management, they simply don't care and you can hear it in their voices, and see by their actions. Not only have I missed days of work to be home to receive the package they promised would arrive, but missed a rebate window that's cost me over $100.00 I wish I would have never ordered from this site, and honestly I hope and pray they are out of business soon so they don't inflict this level of dismal customer service on ANYONE!!!!!
