My review only gives 2 stars because the guy at the wash entrance was LESS than enthused with spraying my car pre-wash. Then I get to the drying area and the two guys were bitching and ticked off because the car wash was open for business during Labor Day weekend. And they didn't do a very good job of drying my car. I liked you guys better when you did the inside of the windshield and people weren't complaining about working.

My daughter bought a detailing for me for Christmas, an inspired idea. My car is a 2006 Subaru,…read more115,000 miles, not abused but not treated with tender loving care (other than changing oil). It needed a detailing, but I did not know that, never having had a car detailed, only rarely giving it a good clean. I could not see the point of having the car detailed in winter, so I waited until summer to schedule it. Darren called to confirm our appointment, arrived at scheduled time. He had the tools he needed, and the knowledge how to use them. His cleaning emphasized the interior, though clean shining blackwall tires, and a waxed exterior are evidence he did not ignore the outside. The interior is as clean as it has been in years. Two and a half hours of his work, and I am one happy driver. The bad news is that having experienced a well done detailing, I might not be so ready to tolerate the cruddy interior which had not bothered me before. And I will definitely call Distinctive Shine when the time comes. Although I might suggest to my daughter that there is no Christmas present I have received recently which so delighted me. Pehaps she will take the hint and get me another one next year.

After being quoted some crazy prices which I just couldn't justify I came across Distinctive Shine's webpage. Looking through the package descriptions I could tell Darren was knowledgeable . I set up an appointment and Darren came out to the house on Saturday and worked on the car from 8 am to 4 pm and by the time he was done the car looked amazing . Absolutely did a great job on the car. If you are a car nut like myself you become very particular about how your car is washed to minimize scratches and what products are used. Darren used top brand products was professional and worked hard and the results were clear. To top it off his pricing for his service is very reasonable. I highly recommend him and am looking forward to having him come out to do the same on my wife's Q5. Thanks again Darren!

For about $4, I can get the outside of my car relatively clean as I don't mind doing it myself. This car wash may be the best of it's type I've used in my 60+ years. For those who don't want to do it personally, there is one bay that has a fully automated car wash. I tried it once & it was also fine. It's not long enough in there to drive through, so the washing equipment goes around the parked car. There are a few different levels, which add-on different chemicals to the wash process. At the end, there is a 1-minute blow dryer. There are I think 4 self-serve bays + the single automatic bay. There is also an indoor tub to bathe a pet. The self-serve units do accept credit cards, but I found that to be clunky/confusing. The equipment also accepts paper bills, so minimal coinage is needed & there is a coin changer on-site.

Points to consider when going to ModWash: 1) Membership is a better value than a one time wash. Even the less expensive plan will get the job done and if you average one wash a week, your dollar goes a long way. 2) Some locations have a mat cleaner, a machine you insert your dirty mats and it will clean them. Take advantage of the compressed air, the cleaning sprays, vaccum and the wipe down towels if you have time to polish up your ride. 3) Many locations make it much more convenient to get your car cleaned up.
