When I raised legitimate concerns, I was met with defensive reactions from front staff and management, which escalated into a tense one-on-one meeting that required me to take time off work. Communication through the client app was often delayed, despite staff insisting it be used as the primary contact method. Obtaining complete medical records was also unnecessarily difficult. Most disappointing was receiving a condescending email suggesting discontinuation of services, despite the fact that I had already transferred my cat's care due to these unresolved issues. After months of transparency issues, I'm not sure what made them think I would continue using them as my pet's primary provider anyway -- that decision had already been made. If the practice responds to this review, readers should view that response critically, as it does not reflect the months-long experience that led to this outcome. The owner, Shannon, was very responsive at first. When I told her where I lived, she started backtracking and listing reasons why her employees wouldn't be able to reach my apartment. She then told me she couldn't even refer another sitting service. I've had cat sitters before. Interacting with Shannon was the strangest, most frustrating conversation I've ever had. She clearly did not want to take me or my cats on as a client for reasons unbeknownst to me. I was able to find a cat sitter through another service, thankfully. I cannot recommend C-Pup.

When it came time to drop my dog off the staff were so friendly and kind, and they were extremely attentive and took detailed notes of all the items I brought with my dog and any of her quirks (e.g., severe allergies, doesn't play well with others, etc.). The space was so clean and large. I felt very reassured dropping her off as I went on vacation. When I came back to get her, the staff was helpful and, again, extremely kind and talked about her time there with details that were definitely unique to my dog. She was happy, healthy, clean, and well groomed. All of her toys and leash items were accounted for and they even ran a toy out to my car that they had forgotten in her kennel. I wasted over $1,000 to unknowingly abuse my dog through Off Leash K9. I sought help because my dog…read morewas reactive toward other dogs, loud vehicles, and people. I was desperate to help my dog and myself and Off Leash K9 had good reviews. What these folks didn't tell me was that my dog's reactivity, what I thought was outright aggression, was actually fear - that she was scared of all of these things and trying to protect herself from them. So with the use of the e-collar (really just a shock collar let's be honest), I punished her every time she showed a fear response at Off Leash K-9's direction. This definitely changed her behavior, but rather than helping her feel more comfortable with the things that scared her, we instead punished her for being afraid and taught her to hide her fear responses. I wish I had looked at the science behind dog behavior, because I now know research shows that punishment through things like e-collars, buzz collars, spray bottles, etc. are incredibly counterproductive to changing dog behavior long term and they seriously traumatize the dog. I'm so very grateful to have met a Fear Free trainer who taught me about positive reinforcement. It has improved my relationship with my dog immensely and it has ultimately lead to the sustained behavior change I was looking for. Please do not waste your money on abusive, ignorant training through Off Leash K9.
