I have gone to Central Auto a few time for routine maintenance. They have always been fair and fast with their services. Rubin and his father have always gone above and beyond to look for potential problem and have let me know of anything that may be a problem in the future. Today they did a front brake job on my Lexus SUV that was amazing. I am about to leave on a long road trip to N. C. If they had not gotten this done so fast I would have been stuck renting a car or driving an unsafe car. No way would I ever use this company again. The reason for this post is not to undermine anyone's business but to share my experience. Recently, I moved to Naples and was looking for a mechanic I could trust, and based on internet reviews, I decided to have them do a repair job that included adding two studs to a rotor that snapped off. The stud repair was completed, and pricing was roughly price 380, basically dealer cost. ok no problem so far. Next job, I ask them to check why the car was making a whooping sound while driving. After the initial investigation, they issued a work order that consists of 4 outstanding problems. Before having them check, I did some preliminary investigation on my own. Having a family auto business in New Jersey, I'm familiar with car issues. I want to know if they're an honest mechanic I can trust with my cars. The answer is NOT ON YOUR LIFE!!. After their evaluation, I took my car to another facility and paid to have them look at the issues noted in the central auto reports. With the understanding that I would also inspect my vehicle with them, which they agreed to. They were slow that day, so actually it was 3 of their mechanic and me under the lift going through the entire suspension system and evaluating the central auto diagnosis of car issues. 2 of the issues were legitimate, 2 were not. The 2 made-up issues to repair would have cost an additional $1036 to someone without my background in automotive. That's a lot of money that most people would have paid to have their car serviced there. I wish this review could have been positive, and I would have preferred not having to spend another 150 dollar to verify what I already knew. This repair shop does not follow the State of Florida Statues in regard to fair business practice as well as fair and ethical treatment of their customers. My car was there for a repair for 3 months waiting for a part. The excuse was we just moved to new location having a hard time getting set up "per the owner Ruben "Please patient I will get it done for you) I was charged almost $2700 dollars for a repair that was not done, it was there so long the battery died and had to be replaced. I asked them to bring the car to my house as a hurricane was approaching and I was out of town. Central Auto left it in my driveway with the windows down and a dead battery (charged to replace) The car filled up with mold and now not only did I have to pay $1800 dollars to get the mold out I had to pay a auto repair shop to fix everything that Central Auto did not do but charged me for. I reviewed the auto repair laws of the State of Florida and Central Auto is not in compliance with many of them I have requested a full refund from Central Auto and they refuse to compensate me read more

Brought the vehicle in for an interlock and was going to have it towed to another repair shop afterwards for work, that I already had an estimate for. While waiting in the lobby, the front desk said "have us check it out, we're good!". I said ok. No pricing was mentioned. After 5 business days (he deferred to Hurricane Helene for the delay but our area was barely affected, nor was the shop). After me calling again, he called back and said "I'm not going to work on it". He didn't provide an estimate , he said he "doesn't provide that" but charged $200 additional on on the invoice for his inspection. I told him I never agreed to that price, which he responded "What, do you think things in life are free?". I paid $10 for a full inspection for at Tires Plus, the original shop, which has since fixed the vehicle and it's running. No one in the lobby ever told me that he would charge $200 (because again, no estimate or bills), that's insane. I paid for the interlock (which he forgot to include parts to it that I called the manufacturer direct for) but I will not pay $200 for his verbal "nope, not gonna do it". He inspired me to open up a repair shop, tell the person "nope" and just collect the non-disclosed $200 inspection fee with no estimate provided. Brilliant! As an update, I see another reviewer mentioned an unexplained hole in their vehicle upon pick-up. I had my car towed from there back to the original shop and got a call from the tow shop that the back windshield shattered while they were picking it up. They are stepping up and paying for it, but the tow company and myself are confused on the actual logistics of that happening. read more

I'm pretty sure everyone can agree that car troubles are the worse! I had previously went to another mechanic who told me the fuel sensor was bad. I went ahead and changed the fuel sensor. Unfortunately, my car was still having issues. After much research on google I found CAC and decided to take a chance in hopes that my car troubles would come to an end... I walk in and met Ruben, he was so kind and welcoming. He took my car back immediately and told me to take a quick seat as he got paper work ready for me. The chairs are comfy, they have clean bathrooms, water, and even coffee! I had both my kids with me and he was sweet enough to play with them and even gave my daughter a quarter for the gum ball machine. Once I filled out the paper work, I left my car with him and within a day he was able to tell me exactly what was wrong. I'm so glad he explained the problem in detail (I was super thankful for this since I know very little about cars), within a few hours the part was ordered, exchanged, and my car was ready to pick up. This is my first-ever negative yelp review but I decided my experience should be known. There were a couple major negative things that happened while my car was at central auto center. I hit a raccoon and went to central auto center on a recommendation to get an estimate. They estimated my repair to be $2900 - ONLY for mechanical issues (my front bumper, grill, and undercarriage were broken as well, but were not included in the estimate). I filed a claim with my insurance and the next day the auto adjuster came out to give an estimate for all repairs. They estimated ALL repairs to cost $2500 (including body work). Shady right off that bat. I decided to leave them to do the work regardless because I didn't want to tow my car somewhere else. These repairs took 2 weeks to complete. I called to check in every so often and they said all was well. When I went to pick up my car, I noticed a HOLE and a large chunk of paint missing on my rear bumper. My car had no previous damage other than what was being repaired on the front end. I confronted Ruben about it and he did not take responsibility for the damage and said his guys are very careful. To top it off, I mentioned my experience to a coworker and she said Central Auto Center had left a dent in her passenger door when she took it to them. Wish I would have known! read more
