I don't understand why Dr. Marvin gets all these bad reviews. It's giving him a bad Reputation and it boggles my mind! I used to be afraid Of going to the dentist - Dentists usually criticize everything that's going on and i used to go as little as possible because i would have major panic attacks thinking how mean they are. My husband, being a certified Nutritional Therapist and holistic landscaper has been going to dr marvin for years before i made the switch. Not only did he make recommendations based on his teeth, I feel like apart of me thinks he saved his life. Dr. Marvin notice a couple things on his teeth and recommended him to not only remove the teeth, but to get a physical because there might be some thing underlying and wrong with him. It looks like he was right. His kidneys were starting to shut down and his energy levels were not normal. If It weren't for his recommendation, I don't know where my husband would be. I started going to him last year and now, im not afraid to go to the dentist. Him and his assistant had made my experience positive , I now go to him every couple months to get a deep teeth cleaning. He also has a mouthwash that I'm obsessed with and I tell him to move it to market ASAP because he's got something special. If you were going to look at the other reviews, please skip them and read mine first. He can sometimes be tough, but he means well and he could be saving your life. read more

He removed a root canal and gave me my life back. I was sick with worsening symptoms over a Year's period.. I had other dentist look at what I was sure was the problem and they said no the tooth looked fine to them. I found a holistic health practitioner and said nothing about the tooth and that person told me to get the the tooth removed. they used wonderful techniques that were safe for everyone and I slowly recovered over the next year (however, I did feel much better right away) read more

I was totally unaware that our mouth/teeth is the gateway to our health. But that is what I learned when I saw Dr. Marvin Pantangco speak at a health and wellness event. He spoke about how our dental health was the main reason for our health issues. After learning this I knew I had to get appointment at Dr. Marvin Pantangco office! When I called in to Dr. Pantangco office, I was greeted warmly and I was able to get an appointment easily. After arriving at the office, I realized that holistic dentistry is on a totally different level. Dr. Pantangco was very knowledgable and he was able to find issues that I had that no other "traditional dentist" could. I have mercury fillings and I knew that they were bad for me but I didn't understand the importance of it until Dr. Pantangco explained it to me that they are very toxic and you're ingesting it little by little everyday. I've previously gotten Invisalign to straighten out my teeth, but he explained to me that while it straightened out my teeth it wouldn't give me a proper bite. After my examination Dr. Pantangco diagnosed me with cavitations, it explained why my jaws would sometime hurt or why I ate with one side of my mouth. If you don't know what cavitations are, please look it up. I'm actually looking forward to get my dental work done now after learning how much it can improve my overall health. After knowing what I know now, I will never go back to regular dentistry again! read more

Love this office. I have a ton of anxiety when it comes to getting dental work or dentist visits in general, so I was definitely hesitant at first but every staff member in this office, including Dr Marvin, has made me feel completely comfortable and heard. I appreciate Dr Marvins muscle and energy testing as well as his nonjudgmental, honest consulting. I am excited to continue my treatment here and become a healthier version of myself! If you're looking for an awesome place with the best kind of care, this is definitely the place you're looking for. read more

I saw Dr Marvin's advertisement on social media. I was searching for a holistic dentist which he advertises. I spoke to him briefly on the phone he would not mention cost regarding fillings. A few days later I spoke to his receptionist and asked her point-blank, what is the cost for a filling? She told me $300 to $700 per tooth! Dr Marvin claims because they are porcelain. I've had Mercury removed and replaced with porcelain, it was nowhere near this price! There's one born every minute. Never was a patient, his sarcasm earns him one star read more

Doctor Marvin is a genuine sage healer. His cavitation surgery on my root canal tooth cured my chronic kidney stones and put me back on the path to reversing my chronic kidney disease. He literally saved my life. And now, as I experience euphoria again, I am forever grateful to him. Thank you Doctor Marvin. You are magnificent. read more

Treated Disrespectfully I went in for an exam for my son to decide what to do about some small cavities on his molars. Dr. Marvin said hello to my son, but after that did not address him, make him feel at ease (even when he said he felt pain), ask if he had questions, or treat him as a person of significance. He spoke to me (his mom) in a very disrespectful way. I should have read the reviews before I went about his bedside manner and arrogant attitude. I thought I had done something wrong or asked too many questions because he repeatedly made condescending and very brusk statements that were completely unnecessary. He seemed defensive about something the whole time and came across as very aggressive and confrontational, making me feel uncomfortable the entire time. Additionally, he recommended the most work on my son for his cavities than the other 5 dentists I had taken him to with the most invasive approach. He refused to do any work on my son unless he was put under General Anesthesia!! My son is not even remotely a candidate for general anesthesia as he is very cooperative in the dental chair and has been to at least 7 different dentists without an issue. No dentist has ever said he is they type who would need anesthesia to do work. When I told Dr. Marvin that his regular dentist agreed to do his fillings without even numbing him because he knew he was fine sitting through work, he seemed to get extremely offended, like I was questioning his authority, and then I got a huge dose of condescension. I cannot comment on his work because we did not have any done, but his bedside manner and interpersonal skills left me running for the door and his requirement of general anesthesia was completely unnecessary, unsafe, and is a far cry from "natural dentistry." read more

I found Dr. Martin on Google when searching the problems I'd heard of with root canals not being the safest method for maintaining bodily health. Basically, as you will read on his website and even from some journals, the 'root canal' which is prescribed as the standard method of 'eliminating' the infection that causes pain doesn't fully remove the bacteria from the area... leaving it to float around in your body to wreak havoc elsewhere in odd ways. I contacted Dr. Marvin months ago before I had the standard-issued root canal treatment by another practitioner, and he wrote to me personally with advice. What dentist writes personal emails? In any case, four months after my root canal, I still have periodontal issues and now recurring pneumonia on the same side of my body. Maybe I'm being overly suspicious about this whole 'bacteria staying in the body thing' but it makes complete sense. Just clearing out what they do in a root canal cannot possibly remove everything. But this is more stuff for a professional to talk about... In any case, I wrote to Dr. Marvin yesterday about my myriad questions. Note that I have never been a patient and he still responded to me with caring attention to each queston. The mere fact that a dentist responds to an email is rare... to get careful answers to each of my questions from him tells me that this is an ethical practitioner - one who does his work for the love of making sure people are well cared for more so than self profit. I hope to see Dr. Marvin soon, I am currently uninsured... but I urge anyone looking for a dentist to see him. Any medical professional who takes the time to simply answer a potential patient's questions / worries is of a good heart and more likely to serve one's health as a paramount priority over profit. Doctors like this DESERVE profit. read more

I appreciate a holistic approach to dentistry, but I feel that I was not given the proper professional advice regarding extractions. I had 3 extractions of root canal teeth in one appointment with Dr. Marvin. This was my first experience with extractions so i had no idea what I was in for. The following is what I have learned the hard way: 1) Never extract 3 teeth in 1 appointment. You will likely suffer greatly with swelling and infection. I suffered severely for 8 days and finally had to get iv ozone and vitamin c and at day 10 after extraction my swelling and pain was finally gone. 2) Have a plan in place to replace the extracted tooth BEFORE you remove the tooth. Otherwise, if you wait too long to replace the missing teeth, you will likely experience bone and gum loss requiring expensive bone grafts and soft tissue graft surgeries. By the way, if you think you can just not replace your teeth and leave the socket empty, you are making a big mistake. Missing teeth can affect your health in many ways. There is good documentation on this going back decades. The bottom line is if you have done your homework then Dr Marvin may be okay for what you need. Don't just assume you will get the proper advice from any professional. read more

I have known about mercury toxicity for a few years now and wanted to get the procedure done but didn't know where to start. One day, I was doing research and saw that we had a holistic dentist right in my own backyard! I signed up for their newsletters, watched Dr. Marvin's videos and listened to his mp3s. Again, it was put on the back burner until one day, I received an email regarding a promotion for a free initial exam with x-rays. I jumped on the opportunity. When I made my visit, it wasn't anything like the traditional dentist's office. It was very zen and calming. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Just from the exam alone, I learned a lot about root canals and mercury fillings and the effects it had not only within the mouth, but the entire body. I had my first procedure today (2 extractions where I had the root canals). It was faster than I had expected. Maybe because Dr. Marvin wasn't switching back and forth to other rooms/patients which was very nice. It's not like I want to stay at the dentist for long hours at a time. Lol. He got me in and out of there. Every time I am there, I learn something new. This time I learned about blood spinning and taking that plasma to place back into my mouth (to promote faster healing). I love that it comes from my body and is not something foreign that may cause side effects. I have never been so excited about getting dental procedures done until now. My next visit, I will get the mercury removed (finally!) I would recommend Dr. Marvin for anyone who is serious about their health. This is one of the best decisions I've ever made regarding my overall health and well-being. Thank you!!! xo read more

Dr Marvin and Quynh are awesome! We're so glad to have found Dr Marvin as our holistic/natural dentist. Dr Marvin deeply cares for our well-being. He understands and thoroughly explains why the teeth is one of the primary channels to our overall health. I have many friends who have mercury toxicity in their fillings and need treatment for their root canals. I have been telling them to go see Dr Marvin right away. The sooner the better. I've interviewed over 10 dentists here in the bay area and realized that Dr Marvin knows much more about holistic and natural dentistry than any of them. I would regularly book a same-day round-trip flight from the bay area (I'm in north Cal and he's in so Cal) just to visit Dr Marvin because he is the best dentist. I'm not the only one who thinks this because he has patients from Australia and Japan that fly over (10+ hours flight one way), just to see him. read more

Traveling 30 miles to this office was well worth the visit. The staff was very courteous and friendly especially Teresa she was very thorough in the process and explaining their methods. My previous dentist of many years insisted that I get a crown after breaking my tooth on a nut mind you I was never in any pain and simply wanted the small surface repaired. Thanks to Dr. Marvin and his amazing team they were able to save my tooth from a future root canal and crown by doing a conservative method of dentistry. Thanks again!!! read more

I'd been having pain in the back of my mouth, my right front tooth was drifting/inflamed and I was getting shooting headaches on the right side of my head. I couldn't figure out what was going on and no one else could either. The final straw was when my front tooth started drifting and leaving this huge gap in my mouth, I had to get it fixed pronto. I went to my Dentist, Periodontist, and Endodontist and they all said that I had bone loss and gum disease and that's why my tooth was drifting. They ensured me that they did not see any infections. Instead, it was recommended that I get deep cleanings and pocket reduction surgery. I was freaked out so I did some research. Thank goodness I did. I made an appointment with Dr. Marvin and he immediately saw infections where my root canal was and where my wisdom tooth used to be. Both infections were in the back right side of my mouth. My front tooth that was drifting? It turns out that my liver is struggling and it's effecting my tooth. I went ahead with the extraction of my root canal and cavitation and I felt better immediately. My headaches stopped, the pain in the back of my mouth stopped and the tenseness that I apparently had gotten used to in my shoulder went away right after the infections were out of my body!! As for my front tooth that was drifting, I was told to take some high quality supplements and detox, and it's already gotten better. If you're contemplating on coming here, do it! His knowledge and skills are worth it. The staff is great too. All in all, just a wholesome experience. Best holistic dentist ever! read more

I have to chime in here. Dr Marvin is the most highly skilled and knowledgeable dentist / oral surgeon I have ever met. Dr Marvin is the right fit for me. He is kind, talented and professional. He offers things no one else offers like cavitation to remove infections in the jaw bone, he uses ozone to kill the infection and the most impressive thing is he uses your own blood platelets to rebuild the bone tissue. Amazing ! I had previously consulted with another oral surgeon who after several times of avoiding the question finally confessed the " bone graft material" he used was from human cadaver. That was all I needed to hear to leave and just live with an infected tooth. Other dentists do some work and then refer you out to oral surgeons so you have to go back and forth. With Dr Marvin he does it all right there in his state of the art office with all the right equipment and skills you need in one place. His staff is friendly and attentive and very knowledgeable. I will post an update later but after having two old infected and problem teeth removed and the infection in the jaw bone removed ( you can watch that afterwords when they replay the surgery footage recorded for you from Dr Marvin's eyepiece) I actually feel better already just 3 days after the surgery. Thank you Dr Marvin and Staff for the wonderful work that you did for me. You are truly a lifesaver. I believe these infected teeth were the cause of some unexplained health issues. I give Dr Marvin and Staff 10 stars : ********** Gratefully yours Richard B. Encinitas read more

I have been seeing Dr Marvin for 7 yrs and a lot of what I have had done has been quite a journey since I went thinking my teeth were great. Crowns, root canals and bridges I had spent $15k on my teeth only to learn they were the cause of many of my health issues with thyroid, digestion and chronic infection. The journey has been far from easy, but I am grateful to know without a doubt that clearing out the poison and infection from my mouth has healed many of my health issues. I recommend Dr Marvin 100% he isnt the cheapest and doesnt just tell you what you want to hear he is to the point and straight. I have also taken both of my children to him and he did a great job with my son and Invisalign braces. Recommend 100% read more

Horrible place! Don't waste your $$ Drove two hours and he has no experience with kids or asd when I specifically asked twice. He charged me $100 for 5 minutes of his time basically telling me what I had told them on the phone. I'm super dissatisfied disappointed and feel completely ripped off!! I asked for a discount on the office exam since he was unable to help and he said no!! Great guy super sincere and kind NOT! I never write bad reviews but this was a horrible experience and I don't want others to fall for the cheery receptionist who doesn't know what she's talking about and made it sound like this was the best place I'd ever visit. This is wrong and it cost me $100 I don't have!! Don't go and don't waster your time read more

I went to see Dr. Marvin for a consultation, It was a dental visit unlike any other! This office was so elaborately designed and lavishly decorated--upon entering, I thought I was in Las Vegas. The receptionist seemed new and nervous, and after checking in I was greeted by an X-ray technician who asked if I knew who " Dr. Marvin" was and went on to rave about the amazing doctor I was about to meet. I was seated in a very fancy dental chair, and I couldn't help but noticed the Apple computers and pricey sinks and decor surrounding me. Dr. Marvin entered the room, briefly looked at my information, and then started his sales pitch. He scanned my entire body with his bare hands like a magician then said my orthodontist did a crappy job and therefore my entire body was misaligned. He advised me to throw away my retainers and let my teeth go back to their natural places. Yes, that means let them be crooked. He then proceeded to recommend me to his friend, a ND for NeuroCranial Restructuring to do a manipulation of the sphenoid bone. This recommendation would be a very painful procedure in which balloons are inserted inside nostrils and inflated and the patient hears a crunching sound as the sphenoid bone is adjusted. The basic procedure would cost a minimum of $10,000! After that, I would go to see his other friend, a chiropractor kinesiologist, for an adjustment before I could see Dr. Marvin again. The chiropractor would charge only $180, a special price for his patients. His proposed plan also included a Bite Guard for $480 and a Rota-Dent Plus Electric toothbrush for $350! The whole experience was a nightmare for me; I saw through the well-designed and orchestrated marketing scheme. There were books on the coffee table in the waiting room about our toxic world, handouts about breast cancer and root canals, videos playing from YouTube with time-sensitive specials and offerings, patient reviews that looked like ads, the nervous receptionist, and his network of "healers." I had decided before I left the office that I would never go back, yet numerous phone calls ensued in attempt to lure me back for treatments. I felt like I was coerced with pseudoscience and presented with scare tactics the entire time!!! read more

I was recently referred to Dr. Marvin and I wish I had gone to see him sooner. Dr. Marvin and his staff are amazing! I have so many allergies that I have 2 medical alert ID tag bracelets with 5 lines engraved on the back of each tag. Usually going to the dentist is not something I look forward to because of all the chemicals typically used I end up having a severe allergic reaction. This is the first dentist I have ever met that has a natural approach to dentistry and truly treats the root cause of your dental issues to improve your overall health. Dr. Marvin goes above-and-beyond to ensure that he and his staff are doing everything they can for you and your health. I have worked hard to cleanse my body of toxins and repair my state of well being through natural means, and it is important for me to maintain a level of health and awareness that normal dentistry does not even take into consideration. Dr. Martin's service is by far the most conscientious and health minded. The staff is supportative and kind which lends to the comfortable atmosphere. The up-to-date technology and use of muscle testing made my experience at the dentist almost pleasant. (It is still the dentist!) Worth every penny... go there! read more

- Receptionist can't answer questions very well and has this look on her face that if she says too much, she'll be... - Overpriced compared to other holistic dentist. For example, a lot for a consultation (tomography x-ray and exam). - Some procedures aren't lumped into one price; they have multi-charges. (Mercury removal protocol, filling, ozone insufflation, etc.) - Consultation exam felt as if they were employing pseudoscience, marketing schemes, and up-selling. - The office has no hygienist so the dentists have to do cleanings and procedures; so it might be more difficult to squeeze in an appointment. read more

Dr. Marvin recently removed all of my mercury, and at 44 years old, I had a lot of fillings, that were at the end of their lifespan. I was a nervous wreck b/c I thought that by removing the fillings it would create other problems but Dr. Marvin was slow, meticulous, and gentle. He has a high tech office with all the latest methods. He takes every safety precaution possible when removing mercury. And he takes his time to explain everything that's going to be done so that you feel a sense of comfort before he begins the work. He tested me for bio-compatability for my new fillings and caps. I had 4 appointments and after the 2nd I felt like family in his office. Everyone there is so warm and caring. I even got to watch movies on a flat screen while he was doing the work on my mouth which was a real treat. Dr. Marvin cares more about helping you create a healthy mouth and body than he does about telling you to have work done that you don't need to do. He's very conservative and only does what's necessary. When working on your teeth he takes away only what's needed and his goal is "tooth preservation and health" above all else. I would never trust anyone else to my teeth and health than Dr. Marvin. read more

It was a year or maybe a little less since our consult for my 14 yr old daughter for braces or other (invisalign) treatment for my daughter. I was reminded to post a review because a friend asked for a recommendation for a dentist who does ortho also. I didn't before because I needed time to cool off/ assess as I have never written a review. I can't speak to Dr. Marvin's skill as we didn't, for good reason, even entertain going to see him. I am discussing the doctors manner- another crucial aspect of care. Which in a holistic setting esp, matters a lot, to me at least. Our visit will stand out to us and I pass his office every day many times remembering how incredibly rude, arrogant and almost cruel he was, among other things. See below! My daughter ( who has never cried at any doctors office or dentist or other etc) was crying before we left the exam room. Dr. Marvin had the most terrible bedside manner I have ever experienced. The other person who was in the office -don't know his name-who was consulting or training -acted equally shamefully. He was back up to convince us- also rudely-adding insult to injury. Both used scare tactics delivered to convey her supposedly disastrous results if we should foolishly choose treatment from anyone else besides him. How unprofessional. He could have at least delivered this news to me alone if he had to deliver it in such a manner. Which I contend he didn't. That's Talking to patients101! Im sure there are a few other accomplished holistic dentists/orthodontists in the US. Probably even in CA! Maybe not many, which is why I saw him in the first place! The ironic aspect of this is that we were already on the same page as him in many ways! We were patients of a renowned and accomplished holistic dentist when we lived on the East Coast who believed in his methods but gave us information, was respectful and left us to make our own decisions. This prior doc didn't catastrophize nor minimize the situation, rather he let the info and his skill speak. He didn't seem hostile and punishing. Good or great dentists, doctors or other, even the most renowned professionals, should have, among other things, humility and graciousness. We can all learn from those people and how they've changed peoples lives for the better There are pompous ones but I will choose the skilled kinder, humbler ones. Dr. Marvin was not one of those to us. Congrats to those who got great treatment but that he could treat one family like he treated us-shows alot about him and his character and expertise. Is this how he gets his patients? Along with the catastophizing my daughter was told, before she or I were even known to him of course (was first time visit) that her attitude and unwillingness to do what he deemed necessary (why was he going there yet-she'd given no such indication?) would leave her with lifelong health and dental issues. He deduced this supposed attitude in minutes from what seemed, and I repeat, seemed in his mind, to be her reluctance to accept his statements/verdict, which I suppose he interpreted because she was on the verge of crying and not looking at him directly because she was so upset. I told him that she might be overwhelmed with his info hoping he'd understand, maybe back off, approach things differently. I think a wiser, much more caring professional would have behaved in a different manner. Did a -quietly- upset young teen trigger him? if so, grow up. We by no means expected royal treatment. Just basic every day courtesy. I give my daughter credit for even keeping it together as much as she did. My younger son was there and of course appalled. I should have walked out. Even the doctors I've seen who have at times had-esp when hurried- rather brusque bedside manner don't even come close. My daughter has done same -not especially thin skinned -with compliments for her mature and compliant behavior relating to prior dental/orthodontic work. At first as a thinking, analytical person one questions oneself. Were we part of this? Were we the issue somehow? did we do something, anything to deserve this treatment? Anger him? The answer is, after consideration, no. I thought about the visit for days after. What we should have done, again, is left. Right away something was very off. Dr. Marvin seems to derive some sort of satisfaction with his behavior which seems to me a pompous, god complex. I actually feel sorry for most people who treat people like this, they must have some issues. But while I have compassion for pathology in others, there is no excuse for his behavior. Regardless of his (possible) skill, how could we entertain his or his possibly bullied associates, dysfunctional treatment and choose him, no matter how great he claims to be. It will stand out as a lesson to my children to choose the better people as well as a skilled practitioner. I would have had to drag them in there had we gone to Dr. Marvin. I sure hope your experience differs. read more

My experience with Dr. Marvin was not good. I was in severe pain and desperately trying to find a holistic dentist I could trust to get some important treatment done. When I called the clinic, the staff was very nice, kind and accommodating. However, Dr Marvin came across very rude and arrogant. He never took the time to really do a good examination of my teeth. Never put gloves on, or sat on a chair, with that proper light to check my mouth closely. Instead, they took an X-ray, and Dr Marvin performed a "test" to check my energy, by moving his hands in the air on top of my body.. (wth?!!). He seemed in a hurry, in a bad mood, like he couldn't care less. Dictating to his assistant what should be written on my paperwork. I mentioned I was willing to remove a tooth which had a root canal done several years ago, and that was causing me severe pain. But I also had other dental issues I wanted to address. Dr. Marvin never bothered finding out more about the whole situation, he just suggested to get the tooth removed that day, in a hurry, because it seemed he didn't have much time. He said - "my assistant is going to give you the total cost, but you have to decide fast if you want me to extract the tooth today". He left the office not saying bye, or asking if I had any questions... just vented out of the room. My feeling is that Dr Marvin is only interested in making money, and doesn't care about the patient, the overall health, and the his way was so unkind, it made me feel really bad. I don't know if he was having a bad day, but it doesn't justify the way he treated me. He also seemed very bossy towards the staff. That was my experience. I decided not to get the treatment done there. read more

Dr Marvin tried to scam me. Be careful in doing what he says you have to do. He wanted me to see a spend $180.00 to see his chiropractor to get a bite adjustment before he would correct my bite. When I questioned him about the procedure he wrote me a letter telling me not to return to his office. When a chiropractor adjusts your bite one time and then Dr. Marvin fixes your bite right after this adjustment, your bite will now be fixed for this ONE time adjustment as we all know chiropractic adjustments do NOT last which is why we all continue to go to them year after year. So now Dr. Marvin will drill on your GOOD teeth to correct your bite for this one time adjustment and your bite WILL RETURN TO its OLD pattern thus making your bite worse!! He also does OZONE in areas he feels might be bad and I had this procedure done and it did NOT work for me. He must be getting free chiropractic visits for his referral and they are both scamming his patients. IF you question anything he does, he will not let you come back to his office!! read more

Everytime I look at my teeth I could cry. They looked really nice until I went to see Dr Marvin. He convinced me I needed Jaw bone cavitation treatments and wanted thousands of dollars to correct my mouth which he said was causing my health issues. So not true. I still remember the smell of meat on his fingers when he was working on me. To think this man didnt even wash his hands after his lunch is beyond disgusting. My health never improved. Because Dr. Pantangco had no availability for about a month, Dr. Godes was able to see us within a week of our initial phone call. I was incredibly impressed with her knowledge of our particular issue and her willingness to share resources outside of her field. We met with her for at least 30 minutes and during that time, she never looked at her watch once. She was completely engaged, asked a lot of good questions and listened without interruption to our answers. I came away with an action plan - and nothing on my list involved further services from her office. Dr. Godes went out of her way to say, "I'm not sure a dental solution at this time makes any sense." I am very grateful for the knowledge and expertise shared with us. I highly recommend Dr. Godes. read more

Dr. Marvin is the finest dentist and oral surgeon that I have had work on my teeth in over 50 years. He is extremely knowledgeable, meticulous with his surgery, and has the knack of being extremely in tune with what is going in your body. Dr. Marvin really listens and respects each person as an individual. He took a cat scan and found there was bacteria embedded in the bone where I previously had an extraction and implant. I had very little pain after the extraction and I'm healing really well. His team is very helpful and kind. I give Doctor Marvin an A++ for being an outstanding dentist and an incredible human being who really cares about each persons health and well-being. read more

I drove all the way from LA to see Dr. Marvin after finding his website. To get an appointment, I had to write to them many times. And when I wrote asking why I was not getting a reply, I got one, a rude one. Anyway, me and husband decided to go to see him anyway. We made it to the office, walked in, nobody came to greet us. 15 min later a woman comes in, looks at us, and carry on with whatever she was doing. We were there, right in front of her (its a small office), and we felt invisible! My husband was ready to leave, I asked him to wait a little more. Someone came with a form for us to fill, again barely looked at our faces, just asked us to fill it. Then I see Dr. Marvin comes by at the reception, LOOKs AT US, says nothing and walks back in. At this point, we left. And I have to say, Im very glad I have. This behavior towards a patient is appalling. The place smells, its small, its weird. Everyone we met was unfriendly. Seriously, if you CARE for people, you show it to them....actions count more than the beautiful words on your website. This people just don't care and seemed to hate their jobs. read more

Dr. Marvin and his staff are excellent! Dr. Marvin and his assistant listen and thoroughly consider all of the options when providing care. I absolutely love his holistic approach. They have great teaching spirits and take the time to explain things well. I would absolutely recommend this practice to anyone. I flew across the country to be treated by him. 5 STARS!!!!! read more

This guy Dr. Marvin is not a true holistic dentist. He pretends to be and has a nice website but he is really just out to try and fool people. When I went to see him he tried to sell me on some bite adjustment surgery. And then this fool tried to tell me I needed to get my asymptomatic wisdom teeth out as if any holistic dentist would suggest such a thing. This guy is just trying to act like he cares when he really just wants to do work on your teeth like every other conventional dentist but worse since his prices are outrageous. If you want a holistic approach to dentistry I would look elsewhere don't waste your time with Dr. Marvin's jokes. read more

I had an extensive amount of dentistry done with Dr. Marvin and felt completely relaxed and cared for. He was highly dedicated, clean, intelligent, hard working, artful, and a master at his work. He was wonderfully respectful to all members of my family and we are sure he is the most kind and best dentist in the world! If you have been searching the ends of the earth for a truly natural dentist with integrity who won't compromise or endanger your health, you won't go wrong with Dr. Marvin. Not only is he an excellent dentist, his assistant is just as wonderful, kind, capable, and intelligent . They make great team! read more

Dr. Marvin saved my life. There is really no way to put into words how grateful I am that he does the work that he does. I came to him after having had my amalgams replaced by a biologic dentist who did not do oral surgery. While other dentists had misidentified my two root canalled teeth as having no problems, Dr. Marvin used 3D CT scans of my teeth to show me problems with the roots of those teeth as well as cavitations around those diseased roots. (Read The Toxic Tooth by Levy and Kulacs for the science behind why root canal therapy and other traditional dentistry is dangerous.) The teeth were tested after removal by DNA Connexions in Colorado. There were 16 different pathogenic microbes living in those teeth. So much for the misconception about being able to sterilize a root canal. After those teeth were removed, Dr. Marvin replaced several gold crowns. Dr. Marvin also did two surgeries for cavitations throughout my jaw where teeth had been extracted for braces at age 13 or where wisdom teeth were extracted at age 17. They were all 9s out of 10 for severity, with kidney bean-sized holes filled mostly with stagnant, reeking blood (my husband was present for one of the surgeries, saw the cavitations, and smelled the foul odor) and in once case yellow pus. In one of the areas, the bone was so fragile that he didn't need to drill to clean out the cavitation. He just used his dental pick to remove the bone. I had been sick my entire life (constant colds and flus, hypothyroidism, and later excruciating rheumatoid arthritis). Now I know I had been carrying infected holes (cavitations) in my jaw since I was 13. I come down with a cold only a couple of times a year now, not to mention that if I get the flu, it's only for a few days. My arthritis went into a beautiful remission after the root canalled teeth were removed and after I used Humaworm to bring balance to my gut. Everything about my digestive system has improved following Dr. Marvin's dental work. I follow the Cutler protocol for mercury chelation. I recommend The Mercury Diaries by Daniel Forsythe. I use hyperbaric oxygen therapy to further heal my jawbone. Dr. Marvin is now our family dentist. I love that he understands about healing teeth through diet rather than making money on "drilling and filling." Again, Dr. Marvin saved my life. There is simply no way to thank him enough. read more
