I've taken all four of my children to Dr Roncone even though my orthodontic insurance did not cover him (initially) We chose Roncone Orthodontics over everyone else we had interviewed before deciding upon dropping the cash w/his practice. He was kind, very patient, and even made us laugh while explaining thoroughly what he could see needed to be done, all at a very fair price for the service, expertise and great treatment that were apparent that we were going to get. Over a period of the 10 years, we dealt with the good people at Dr. Roncone's office. They ALWAYS welcomed us with a smile, and had everything ready & waiting for us each and every time we went. He only hires top notch, extremely well trained registered dental assistants to work on his patients, and everyone of his front desk and full staff were always sharp, professional yet warm and personable. His son, though a fine orthodontist himself, has his own practice in Fallbrook and has not practiced with his father since I have been going there. Shortly after my oldest daughter got her braces off, she was involved in a horrendous accident which bashed in the whole left side of her beautiful face and caused several teeth to abscess severely. We made ONE phone call to Dr. Roncone's emergency number from the hospital (it was around 2am ) and he returned the call immediately instructing us what we should do. As soon as she was released, he instructed me to bring her in, did full panoramic xrays, and quickly began to repair what he could. All at NO EXTRA CHARGE! He felt terrible for what had happened to her and refused to take anything for his services. He also called Dr. Buss to help us by wiring her jaw and saving the teeth so they would heal and he could bring them back correctly on the jaw. My daughter's smile has been fully restored and I will be forever grateful to him and his amazing staff there at Roncone Orthodontics. I have nothing but full respect for Dr. Roncone. I will continue to recommended him to EVERYONE I ever speak to. He IS the Best and there is NO ONE else that even comes close. read more

Dr Roncone treated me for TMJ and the results have been great. He is one of very few providers who really understand the biomechanics and high sensitivity to micro adjustments related to TMJ treatment. Prior to seeing Dr Roncone, I had been to other "TMJ specialists" and dentists and purchased mouth guards without success in preventing my TMJ flare ups which were quite painful. We discussed a treatment plan that worked for me and his staff was consistently supportive and professional. All treatments were painless and I had efficient appointments. I now wear a mouth guard at night only and have not had any flare ups in over a year. I give Dr Roncone my highest recommendation for TMJ treatment. read more

Remember the old children's fable of "The Emperor And His Clothes"? Roncone Orthodontics is the flesh and blood version of that tale. If you're looking for an Orthodontic office that will over charge you, misplace your patient records, then pretend they never saw you before and try to add an extra couple of thousand dollars to your bill....all the while acting as though you are less than nothing and that you should be honored to be their patient....well then, this is the place for you. =( That is precisely what happened with me. I came to Dr. Roncone as an adult...for my own braces. We met with Roncone...he evaluated my orthodontic situation and we were then sent in to his PR person who gave us the estimate for my treatment. Roncone's estimate was significantly higher than either of the two other respected Orthodontists we had interviewed...but we were impressed by his Curriculum Vitae...and bit the bullet...scheduling all treatment, molds, x rays, etc. with his office. We then paid a significant sum (upfront) and began Orthodontic treatment. I had Panoramic Xrays taken and molds made by his staff at his office. When I returned for my first visit with Roncone...his office couldn't find my chart. They had also managed to misplace my molds and Xrays. In the interim, I had met with Roncone's son...who adjusted my existing retainers. We spoke with Roncone directly. He acted superior and behaved as though we had simply drifted in off the street...and that he had never seen me before. This although he had personally conducted our first visit. He then took a cursory look inside my mouth and had his PR person inform me that it was his intention to add an additional $2,000 to our original estimate....and that since they had misplaced my Panoramic Xrays...and full mouth models...they would re-do them and charge me a second time! I find it noteworthy that Roncone's staff behave as though they are walking on eggshells around the man. Do yourself a favor...go somewhere else. p.s. First off: I'm not one to review often and not one to focus on negative, but my experience overall was poor and the retainer I was given was cheap. Unprofessional staff. Upon entering their office I fill out papers and after sitting to be called in for consultation, overheard front office chattering derogatorily about a customer. Adversely, my actual consultation went rather smoothly, Dr. Roncone was professional and concise with short procedure details. Besides that, One of the clear retainers (upper teeth) I received here began to crack after a month and a half of solely overnight wear. Not ever will I be coming here again. read more

Got my clear braces on today and it was much easier than I expected! Tasha had me in and out within an hour without hardly any discomfort at all. She explained everything thoroughly and was extremely considerate. I originally thought that I wanted the lingual braces on the inside of my teeth, but I am happy with my decision to get the clear ceramic braces and hoping to see an improvement in my bite and all the other benefits within the year. read more

I was 18 and broke when I went to Roncone's office in March of 2011. I had a severe case of TMJ and I had heard that all I needed to do was get a night guard. When I went in, he fed me a story about how I would need multiple surgeries, braces for 2 years, and to wear a splint in my mouth that would be adjusted every month for a coupe years. He tried to get as much money out of me as possible. He knew how broke I was because I told him I had medi-cal and EBT food stamps... When our visit was over and I had been crying for almost an hour, I paid my $90 consultation fee and was about to walk out the door when he added "Oh! I was almost 35 and still had crooked teeth. They were worse than crooked. Just really bad. Dr. Roncone examined my mouth and I could literally see his eyes smile about the challenge in front of him. He was so excited about the potential results he made me anxious to get started. He said 22 months and visits 6-8 weeks apart. Less than 2 years! Awesome compared to what some of my friends went through. To the day, 22 months later my braces came off. I swear to you that every visit was quick and painless. The staff all knew my name. It's a happy office with great vibes. And I think it starts with Dr. Roncone's feel for how the experience should be. He's not a normal orthodontist. He's into the industry and science of it all. After a lifetime of problems with my teeth I decided to go to the best orthodontist I could find, and that was Dr Roncone. I had mild TMJ, uneven wear from teeth grinding, and a bite so tight that my bottom teeth were banging against the top row causing them all to have excess mobility. It wasn't until my dentist told me I was in danger of losing my teeth that I sought help to get the problem truly fixed. Getting braces as an adult certainly wasn't fun, and he's not the cheapest orthodontist out there, but now that it's all over and done with I can say with certainty that he was worth every penny. He had my braces off in a much shorter amount of time than any other ortho could deliver, my jaw tightness is gone, and most importantly he fixed my bite - no more shattered dental work, no more loose teeth, and my regular checkups are now all in the clear. well the reason he gets 2 stars is because his "treatment" didn't fix my TMJ. This was after $3,500 (and that was with a "discount") His treatment consisted of a night guard that i wore 24hrs a day for 6 months. I would see him every three weeks where i would fill out a form saying if it felt better, he would come over, move my jaw around for 20 seconds, say everything looking good and see you in three weeks. sometimes his staff would spray on a cold spray, and a heat treatment. This might all be standard treatment, and the price might be standard, but it didn't work. I could have taken that 3,500 and burn it in my backyard for all the good his treatment did. read more
