In my previous procedures, I have had high levels of anxiety, and the doctors worked with me to make my appointments run smoother IE letting my loved one sit with me during the procedure and reducing the amount of items in my mouth. It's never been fun, but it's been manageable. Yesterday I went in for a possible crown and was given something like 4-6 shots of Novocain, none of which were working. I had a legitimate panic attack by myself in one of their separate rooms and was pushed to come back on drugs as they had other patients to see. I spent the next 8 hours of my day, not having had any work done, unable to go to my job due to not being able to function half of my face. The Novocain certainly was working about 30 minutes after I left. I know that I am not the easiest patient, but I genuinely feel traumatized after my last appointment. I am used to being listened to and accommodated in this office, and I hated feeling, capital P, Pushed to take strong medicines I am uncomfortable with, when the solution is as easy as letting someone's loved one sit with them. Yes, in their defense, they have one doctor now and they had other people to get to, but who can blame anyone for being dissatisfied leaving an healthcare office like that. I felt brutalized.

It's not malpractice to give me a regular cleaning if that's what I want/. I don't need deep cleaning. It was all about money and poor workman ship. When I showed the X-rays and told the dentist what my dentist friend saw on the X-rays he dismissed the concerns. And now I have major issues and being asked to pay again! So frustrating. I feel bad for all the immigrants in the office that he takes advantage of.

Also, they charged me co-pays, when I have no co-pay with my insurance, which I tried to explain to them but their office manager is so extremely dense and does not listen, just talks and talks and talks. She is just a horrible person to be dealing with the public. I'm they would fire her if she wasn't the dentist's wife. I feel bad for that nice dentist, Dr. Reesor. The office manager was so obnoxious and rude and unorganized that she could not find my record of payment. If I had paid cash, I would have lost it. Paying with credit card gave me recourse to fix their dishonest billing practices. This dental practice has so many bad reviews for good reason. Although the dentist and hygienist are very good, I do not go there anymore because the front office manager was simply horrible and after years of getting good care there, I did not want to deal with their b.s. anymore. There are plenty of other good dentists and I found one (after finding 4 bad dentists). It just was not worth the trouble going to this dental practice. They take advantage of patients and insurance so be very careful with them or just go find an honest practice. I documented everything and kept all receipts and I am so glad that I did.

She's kind, reassuring, and didn't dismiss my fears. She took the time to answer every question and made sure I was okay. The follow-ups afterward were just as impressive. I needed a crown at the second appointment. They knocked everything out in one visit. No temporary crown, no coming back, no extra hassle. I'll happily trade an extra hour for having to rearrange my schedule for a second appointment. A huge shout-out to the front office staff. Instead of just running my insurance (and credit card!) and calling it a day, they actually worked to find the most cost effective option for me. The fact they played the "Insurance Game" (which is the worst game ever invented) shows that they care. The office is clean and incredibly organized. Scheduling was easy, and despite being a busy practice, everything felt well run. A couple of minor drawbacks: they're definitely on the pricier side, but I truly think the quality of care and convenience justify it. Also, the treatment areas are separated by dividers instead of walls, so if the person next to you is giving their life story to the hygienist... congratulations, you're part of the conversation too. I had a crown that was previously done incorrectly at another dental office, and Pomerado Cosmetic Dentistry was able to fix it and create a new crown for me. They even provided same day service. I truly can't express how happy I am with the results. During my first visit, everything I needed was clearly explained to me. I really appreciated that nothing was pushed on me, no unnecessary treatments, just honest recommendations for what I actually needed. As an out of pocket patient, I found the pricing to be fair, especially considering the high level of care you receive. I appreciated the thorough cleaning with extra TLC from hygienist Lori. She knows her stuff! Dr. Nguyen took the time to have a sit down discussion with me about the full scope of work indicated, without pressuring me, and encouraged me to get other opinions because he was a new provider to me and delivering the bad news. However, I already knew most of what I'd been avoiding and came up with a plan to stage the work over time in the way that would give me the best results. Chair side assistants seem to read his mind as he works and again, everyone sensitive to and supportive of my comfort throughout. Including my nervous chatter before and after treatment. I'm definitely building trust with each encounter and glad I found this practice. I recommend them if you are in need of care.

The practice is very clean and modern. They have TVs on the ceiling to entertain you during treatments. The staff are polite. You are given a bag of complimentary dental items when you leave (Toothbrush, floss, etc.) They text you to remind you of appointments. The office is conveniently located near the Poway Pomerado hospital and has free parking immediately outside. I recommend Poway Modern Dentistry.

Aside from my epic crown and cleaning, the office was able to work with my horrible janky insurance and help me get my tooth repaired at a killer deal. We will not be going back.
