It was generally kept quiet and felt stress/chaos free. That was important to me as dad didn't respond well to unnecessary noise or conflict. He had his own room and personal space that was designed to feel like there was ownership and autonomy in living. Affording a continuous environment that was his, and while he was attended to, it was his and there was pride in this. He was well cared for regarding his diet and was kept clean and comfortable. When dad passed and the facility wanted our family to transfer him asap to the funeral home, we rather abruptly explained that he would remain present until rites were performed and visitors had their opportunity to sit with him and the family. We really pushed the limit on this and they were respectful at all times and didn't rush us past the initial announcement of his passing. That grace is what I will remember most. When we finally dissolved into dysfunction, staff continued to treat us gently and never outwardly judged us. We were definitely a challenge. Overall they expertly cared for my precious father and extended that compassion to my family. I am so glad he was able to pass safely. He deserved only the best.

As her body became weaker, more frail and prone to pressure sores, she was still put in a regular dining chair instead of a softer, more supportive reclining chair, contrary to family's repeated requests. When she lost the ability to eat by herself, they failed to assist her to eat nutritionally appropriate foods 'little and often', with the result of rapid, dangerous weight loss. Her behaviour was fearful and withdrawn. Despite numerous requests, they did not provide daily records of how much she had eaten or how often food was offered to her. There was no monitoring or record keeping of her food and liquid intake. The family would have accepted the facility telling us that her needs exceeded their capacity, and recommending that she go into a skilled nursing facility. Instead, they kept insisting that they were meeting her needs, even while Mom was visibly approaching preventable death. Upon the family removing her from this facility, her health immediately began to dramatically improve, with rapid weight gain, and she went on to have a significant period of a good quality of life, enjoying the optimum health possible within the limitations of her medical condition. The logical conclusion is that the preventable elements of her decline (weight loss, frequent falls, being withdrawn) during her time at the facility was due in large part to the neglect she suffered. The family also witnessed other residents having unmet needs, for example residents experiencing falls when no staff were present in the day room, and a lady who was recovering from a stroke being excluded from activities by not having obvious, easy-to-implement, adaptations offered to her.

They actually took the time to listen to me; the doctor would explain what they felt was the issue and felt I ought to be admitted as a patient and the internist came in told me their plan of care for me and I went to my room. There was a nurse who was in charge of the floor I was sent to and he took the time to walk with me and talk and ask questions if I had any. Then after my tests the doctor explained my situation to me told me that I was being referred to a neurologist to speak with the step in my plan of care. They had a nickname for this doctor because it was a zoom conversation which he asked me question and told me I needed to see a neurosurgeon and referred me to Dr. Waller, who did my surgery a few weeks later. I do not remember everyone's name because it was a scary time because of the findings. The internists that followed me through the admission were very nice and took the time to actually talk with me. The only complaint I do have is that my Iv site was infiltrated and the nurses felt that since they could still flush it with normal saline doesn't tell you that it is infiltrated. When I had to go for my MRIs I told them this issue, I needed medication to be able to take the tests and them giving me the medication by IV did not work at all. The tech who did the tests was very good at her job and very understanding when I could not continue with the testing. Overall, the care I received was very good and the reason I say this is because I am a retired nurse and they were very friendly, personable as compared to the horrible experience I had at Providence where I had another type of surgery, at that hospital in PACU where you are when you wake from your surgery, the person sitting next to my stretcher was talking to someone on his cellphone while I began waking up, did not talk with me but continued to yell asking when my bed was going to be ready and when he was told it was ready he said "finally" proceeded to grab all the wires attached to my chest at the same time and yanked them off, very painful to me (this is what is called unprofessional) and the care I got on the floor was also as horrible because they do not care about their patients and how they treat them (so the people who say that Providence is a better hospital I am sorry just because it "looks cleaner does not relate to be better), different surgery that was necessary that occurred in between this admission and the surgery from this admission. The surgery that stemmed from the admission was very terrifying for me. The staff in the OR were very understanding of the fact of me being very claustrophobic and allowed me to hold my own mask as they were administering my medication to go to sleep. This is beyond what they really needed to do but they did and it helped calm me down and gave the whole atmosphere a little more relaxed under the anxiety I was having. I want to thank them all on both of these admission to Regional for the care I received other than the IV issue was excellent care. I was at this hospital in June and August of 2025 and at Providence in July of 2025.

Nasty, nasty nasty! The employees don't care!…read more My sister was bought her tonight from the airport by ambulance. By the time I got her they had her sitting in the waiting room with a woman that was coughing and not covering her mouth. I told APD to take her to Providence for so many of the reasons I'm going to list here. They bought her here because Providence was full, so they bought her to the dirtiest hospital Anchorage has. The last time I was here, I bought my father in and we found out he had RSV when he returned back home The entire time they had my father sitting in the waiting room, never did he get into a room. Her nurse when she was in the room was nice but was she truly helpful. Slightly. It took twice asking for Motrin for her headache before she said the doctor wants to try Tramadol. The nurse offered it for the headache and never followed through. She has been in room air the entire time with her O2 dipping A LOT! But she was fine as they say. When she finally hit on oxygen is because I asked why is she not on oxygen and she's dipping? No one is coming to check her like we were told. When she beeped no one came in like she said they would. I asked her nurse an hour after admission came in to get insurance info, when she was getting her IV so she can get her scans done? She said who told you that? I told her the scan tech came up and said it and that she was going to tell her. Like wait what? The nurse walked in and said that's my fault usually if a doctor wants meds by mouth they don't do and IV. So you're admitting you're not doing your job correctly??? So an hour and half in she's on room air and dipping, headache still no meds, and no IV that's been ordered? Yeah she was not doing her job. It's to much to put in here, but do not take your loved ones here. I don't care if it's crowded go somewhere else.

Not just physically but mentally as well. When it comes to a profusion of course you want people to be professional and you want work to get done but at the same time it does something to a person mentally. They shut down not just from pain but from the internal battles as well. To Be honest a small part of me feels like I made friends, good ones. And who ever reads this I promise everything was to the T, that's just how good they are I swear. Denton always has the jam's and I'm pretty sure you can really talk to him about anything, and I promise you he has some wisdom and fun facts that will surprise you, I found out he was the manager or head of the office, and everyone gets along great from what I see and it seems he dose run a tight ship. When I worked with him it was always fun and cool to with and especially when it came to concerns, I had we always found a way. Jesse is another PT that I worked with. Now Jesse is a character and I love it. I'm sorry if the phrasing is weird but that's the best way to describe it. I can tell you I was always a bit scared to work with Jesse but that's because I know. as some would say "Put that work in." and not going to lie sometimes it feels he gets in the zone, and we forget to take breaks. (happy face with lol would be here) hoped you guys laughed at that. But in all he is a great guy, and I hope he gets some more beautiful pictures next time he goes highking. and last but not least Taylor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was my main PT and to me it's crazy because I will actually miss you guys. Taylor was amazing (except when he'd leave for vacation and leave me with Denton and Jesse (another joke) and ill stops with jokes because as we can see I'm bad at them hahaha. But on a serious note, Taylor is a great PT and I'm so happy I got to work with them. Theres so much I can say about Taylor but i hope that you see this long review and the thought put into it and then you will realize the impact Taylor had. so, to Taylor Thank you for everything. Truly. And to Denton, Jesse, Tara, Ryan AND Ryon (love you guys) and Morgan I wish you all the best and God bless. P.S. Morgan be killing it with the dad jokes I know we are not friends buttttttt Your friend TREY

At the risk of angering the Yelp gods, I will just copy/paste it here: I had a very positive experience in Denali PT's work hardening program. Everyone in the clinic was very supportive, from the PTs themselves to the techs, massage therapist, front desk and billing department, and also the other participants in the program. My function and strength improved quite a bit, but what I really appreciate most is the renewed sense of resiliency and agency over my own outcomes, and what feels like genuine optimism that I can continue improving from here.

I am 70 years old and live alone since my wife passed in '16 and kids live outside. So I am hobbling alone at home on crutches taking care of myself and 2 labs. Surgeon advised surgery to place screw and plate because both tibia and fibula were displaced to different degrees. Becky from Midnight Sun sent service agreement, which I could not copy due to faulty printer, but I emailed Becky back in which I confirmed I agreed. I also notified surgeon that Midnight Sun would transport me to and from surgery and care for me afterwards. I called repeatedly as surgery day approached (and so did doc's office) to no avail. Neither of us could get a call back. Meanwhile Home Care Assistance of Anchorage, whom I called early on to tell them I decided on Midnight Sun CALLED ME TO MAKE SURE I WAS OK AND SET UP FOR SURGERY. Moral of story: I should have enlisted Home Care Assistance of Anchorage to do the job right from the beginning.
