I stumbled upon this spot known as Sacco's Meat Market the other day, which from the outside appeared to be an Italian butcher shop that's been open for 70+ years. There was a chalkboard sign outside that said "Best steak sandwich in NJ." Upon walking in, it felt like I was in an episode of the Soprano's. There was a long table in the center with the owner and several guys discussing sports. I inquired about the best steak sandwich and received a foot-long cheesesteak on fresh bread with hot peppers and onions, fresh sliced American cheese for $10. It was delicious and holds a fire to any other cheesesteak I've had.

It was missing a little twang/bite I might recommend a jalapeño relish which I use at home when I make it. I also ordered the ranchers roast beef and cheddar cheese, which also needed a little pick up me up also Maybe a twangy horseradish mayo. I also ordered the red white Italian, which is on focaccia bread, which was a very hearty sandwich loaded with chicken breast and roasted peppers. The sandwich needs to be eaten fairly quickly as the focaccia gets slightly soggy. we also ordered the buffalo chicken wrap, which unfortunately didn't have much buffalo taste according to my husband. Minus these few flavor factors for me. The sandwiches in general were very good prices were slightly high, but the serving size was adequate for the pricing. Staff was super friendly. We started reminiscing about the greatest Best's Provisions hot dogs and vacuum packed pastramis that he used to bring us. Needless to say... today I took a ride to Newark to Best's. I imagined my dad backing his truck up to the loading dock. I thought I was going to find a little store.... After someone kindly told me the "store" was right there behind the loading dock- I fortunately found a place to park my car and proceeded up the same stairs that my beloved dad used to climb. I bought a pastrami as well as 5 lb of the natural casing 8 to a pound hotdogs.... Just like he used yo bring us! Not bad for $59! ( FYI. cash only) My husband fired up the grill tonight and down memory lane we traveled! The hot dogs were an delicious as I remembered them to be! We wrapped and froze the rest... I'm guessing they won't have a chance to become freezer burned! Looking forward to cooking up the pastrami in a few weeks!! So worth the 45 minute drive each way!! Thanks for the memories

I purchased a stick and divided it between myself and the 2 friends I was with. 4 days later my half is almost gone and theirs has disappeared. They loved it as much as I do. It blows away everything I've ever had here in the States and in Europe. I've eaten a good amount of it there, being one of the highlights of my trips. The flavor is spectacular. Creamy and smooth without being over powering with the Chicken Liver. It is a perfect blend of the Pork, Chicken Liver and Veal. I can't wait to go back and get some more.
