I was able to get a friend's old phone and finally upgrade my 4S (will have to give that old soldier a Viking funeral...) but needed to fix the broken glass. After searching a few spots, this location had the best prices for my current budget. Additionally, it is in DUMBO and was a quick trip from the Navy Yard, which sealed the deal for me. It's really convenient to get to the shop and is within walking distance from both the A/C train at High St. and the F train at York St. It's also in close proximity to some great food spots to check out while you wait. Emir, the tech who fixed the screen, is professional, courteous and very personable. He answered all my questions patiently and while knowing that every sale obviously helps his pockets never seemed to be pushy or driven to get me to spend more money than absolutely needed. (I thought the battery needed to be replaced and I could easily have been gotten for the cost of replacing it but happily only spent $70 to replace the glass). Fixing the screen took about 30 mins or so, and if I was there earlier in the day I could have gotten a bite to eat while waiting. I was content to sit around in the shop and chat with Emir. The shop is small so people should be aware of that during the day as I would assume space can become a premium. I got the phone repaired 2 months ago and there haven't been any issues at all. Initially I noticed the difference in touch quality from the glass originally provided by Apple and the placement was a little uneven.......no biggie. Less than a week later my phone had cracked again simply by putting it down on my desk (with a screen protector on it) - again nothing I would lose my temper for, as I would think I could explain the situation to the one who repaired the phone. I found Green Fix through a generic search for iPhone screen repair and after reading reviews contacted Emir. He gave me a quote and an appointment the next day. I went in to have my iPhone 6S+ screen replaced because I cracked it end to end during a hiking trip. I waited out the 30+ minutes it took him to repair the screen at his storefront. Emir is very professional, his prices are reasonable compared to others that may not give you authentic parts, and he has an amazing set up! He uses actual Apple screens (I think I'm using the right part terminology.... he explained it to me a few times, but I'm still confused with all the layers that make up an iPhone screen!) This ensures that your phone isn't devalued as a result of an unfortunate incident when you don't have AppleCare. TL;DR: Be cautious. I needed to fix my cracked screen (glass replacement), then one week later I got my phone back with new issues: uneven screen surface raised on one side, screen burns throughout display, scratches on the back of the phone, overheating and draining problems (common issue with improper replacements). Shop owner is disrespectful and aggressively unprofessional, refuses to fix them, won't refund you, and will say it's your problem, and ask you to pay for additional repairs if you want it fixed. Not trustworthy. Long version: I went in for a repair on my Galaxy S8. Screen glass was cracked for about a month, not too badly (I could clearly view most of the display just fine) but still bothersome.The glass was replaced but apparently a stubborn air bubble formed underneath the new glass during replacement and it needed to be removed, and that took a week. After that I went back to get my phone and the screen was slightly raised on the right side edge, and there were screen burns throughout the display (on a white background, I could clearly see the display divided into pink and purple tinted sections, and if I hide the home/navigation buttons, I could see their imprints). The shop owner refused to fix any of the issues: he said that he'd already spent a lot of time on my phone replacing the glass and removing the bubble (which he caused), and said that the lower price and cheap labor he offered came with those risks (such as the lifted screen) and that he couldn't do anything about it. He said the glass he uses is some cheap $5 glass, and you are paying mostly for his labor, which is cheaper than other places, so basically, you get what you pay for. Cheap faulty labor, no responsibilities or real warranties. As for the display burns, I only noticed how visibly bad they were after I left the store and started using my phone normally. When I called the shop owner to explain, I literally couldn't finish any of my sentences - he interrupted me every time and became agitated quickly (he already had my money at that point anyways), aggressively yelling at me right from the get-go, claiming he didn't cause the burns, blaming the phone itself and accusing me of "pushing on him," even though as an unsatisfied paying customer I have the right to respectfully question the service I received, not just silently accept it, especially when it was poorly executed. I've had this phone for a year & half and never saw those burns. I tried to have a civilized conversation but he was extremely rude, loud and aggressive. He said that it was my problem and I'd have to fix it on my own. He said I would have to pay him for additional repairs if I wanted him to fix it. He dared to say this whole thing was stressing HIM out. This repair was stressing ME and MY wallet out, and making me worry every day about my phone, but I always kept my cool as a customer, so I don't understand how he, as an adult and business owner, can't even have a normal conversation without treating customers so unprofessionally. His violent and disrespectful behavior was appalling and disgusting. I had already paid him in cash at that point and it's really sad that I can't get my money back. I paid for a repair and didn't expect my phone to be returned to me with new defects and excuses. I'm sure he wouldn't intentionally damage phones, but mistakes can happen and it's not the customer's fault if his work was flawed, or if his machines can cause other issues. Yet, he won't fix any consequential damage, even though he says he gives you warranty. I am so disappointed in the quality of the service, and in how problems are handled (or not handled, in this case) if they arise during a repair. Not to mention other minor issues that I noticed, like scratches on the back of the device (I always use a phone case and those scratches were not there before) and the phone overheating and draining quickly (I did some research and found out this is a common problem when screens are replaced improperly). This experience was unacceptable and has caused me so much headache, I would not recommend this place to anyone in their right mind. It's not worth the risks and headaches you will get. You might get one issue fixed, but then gain 10 more after repair. Not trustworthy. Instead, take your phone to Smart Phone NYC or to Geek Shop, for similar prices, or save yourselves from the headache altogether and take it to an authorized repair shop (Samsung authorized or Apple Store) and pay some extra bucks for peace of mind AND QUALITY. read more

I had a crack in the top corner of my iPhone X screen, I was not hear through the receiver and could only talk through headphones and speaker. I found Emir's shop on yelp gave him a call and made an early afternoon appt. Emir told me the two different options I had to repair the screen as well as the prices. This is a review not just to inform about this repair shop but to warn about MacBook Pros. I can't give him more than one star because he failed to render a repair but sucked up two weeks of my life. I dropped my laptop and broke the LED screen. Apple was pricey. Emir said he could fix it, and I would save by not replacing the clamshell. He said he had done it several times before. I waited a week for the part (bought on eBay), and there were several false promises about when it would be done. He did get it going but the strip at the bottom of the screen was broken, he then said. He ordered that part but on applying the new one, HE broke the LED. And gave up. He gave me my money back and blamed me for rushing him. I went a week without a computer (traumatic experience) and then another week with one that didn't close properly. I had to schlep to his shop four times. Authorized Apple repair shops do not replace MacBook Pro screens but tell you they have to go back to Apple. And Apple insists the screen and clamshell are one piece! Emir tried to do right but he needs to stick with phone repair. This was beyond his skillset. read more
