Posted this on Google too, so that more people can make an informed decision before coming here. *TLDR at the end* My Macbook Pro is a 2017 model, and i've been using it moderately for school since then. Once quarantine came and I was using it a lot more, the wear and tear from over 500,000 clicks and and over a million keystrokes began to show up and along with keyboard and trackpad issues, somehow my LCD completely messed up. Apple fixed the keyboard issues under an quality warranty but the LCD issue was out of warranty and they wanted me to pay 650 dollars to fix just the display. I was like oof no. That's 50% of the original price of the laptop, to fix a screen four years later. So I began to call around and a lot of people were quoting me the same price but this repair shop said that would do it for $420, so I went with them. The first time I went in, I waited 2 weeks for my computer to be fixed. I called every couple of days to see when I should come it for it because the guy told me it would take one week, and I was wondering what was taking so long because I assumed they had the part on hand. (They didn't) I think because they felt rushed, they patched something up in my normal LCD, and gave it back to me the same way. I noticed immediately when I came to pick it up because the same dents I had in the body of the screen, we're still there. (They weren't huge and didn't affect the LCD in anyway they were just bumps over the four years I had the computer.) I told the person who was there at the time that I thought I was getting a whole new display because that is what all of the other places had done, but I decided, hey if it worked, that's fine. Within two weeks there were ghost images (attached). I came back in and complained, and told they to repair it properly this time and I was expecting a new display. I waited six to eight weeks for my computer to be returned to me. I noticed that when I got it, there was a whole plastic film over it with the white apple sticker they usually provide with purchased products over the apple symbol on the exterior of the computer. I didn't think anything of it because there were no dents and the display looked new, and matched the color of the other side of the computer. Plus, you don't wanna open the package till you get home right? When I got home though, I could easily tell it was a fake part. The apple symbol was sunken in may too many millimeters and as you can see on on the edges of the computer, THE FAKE PLASTIC EDGE IS BEGINNING TO PEEL!!! The whole screen is supposed to be metal. Also, when the brightness is turned down you can see the discrepancy and color saturation indicative of a fake apple part. I don't know about a simple cracked phone screen repair, but definitely don't come here for any computer repair. Too Long; Didn't read: Ended up have to get 2 repairs, had a two/two and a half month wait time total, and was left with a fake apple part.

Phone never worked properly after the first screen repair!
Megan H.

When I got my phone screen repaired here 8 months ago, I was told that the screen had a warranty and to come back any time I had an issue. My screen never worked quite the same after that - in the winter it would often freak out and randomly swipe and select things without being touched. But I work crazy hours and never had time to come in and address it. Finally went in a week or two ago and he was out of screens, told me to come back. Now my LCD screen damage is finally apparent - blurring colors and vertical colored lines - and Cell Phone Geek is saying arbitrarily that the warranty doesn't cover that and they wont do it for free. Never coming back here! A very expensive repair that will just end up causing me more money.

Screen popping out

This place is a total scam! I went there a few months ago to replace my screen and the tall blond guy did the repair in less than 10 min, ok, first thing I noted was the bottom screws missing... a few months after the screen just popped out of the metal body. I never dropped, always used case to protect. I went there to see what they can do and he was extremely NASTY saying he'd never fix a phone with crazy glue. Like, dude you did a SHITTY job and I'm paying the price. Now the screen doesn't even turn on anymore. I would never EVER will refer this store to anyone. Horrible service / horrible owner.

After calling around to a few places, I received the most affordable quote from them. Once I arrived I received Great and quick service. Hopefully I won't need a repair anytime soon but if I do, this is definitely my go to spot!

The back of my phone was severely damaged by the people at Cell Phone Geek, yet they repeatedly insisted they didn't do it.

Unfortunately, my experience at Jay Repair was inadequate and unprofessional in several key areas. While the conversation began respectfully, the service itself fell short of reasonable expectations. I had to wait over an hour to have my screen replaced a second time because the first display installed was not designed for the iPhone 14 Pro. It was a screen intended for the iPhone 14, not the Pro model. This mistake should not happen at a repair shop, especially when model-specific hardware differences are well documented. This exact issue happened to me previously with an iPhone 11 Pro in 2023, and unfortunately, it has now happened again. For clarity: There is only one correct display type for iPhone Pro and Pro Max models--the Super Retina XDR display. There is no legitimate "lower HD" version for Pro models. Apple does not promote or support such distinctions on their website. Anyone familiar with Apple technology understands that software and hardware are tightly integrated, and Apple updates each device specifically. That's why repair shops must provide accurate, up-to-date information about replacement screens--especially for newer models like the iPhone 14 Pro, 15 Pro, and 16 Pro, which require Super Retina XDR displays exclusively. As a certified technician myself and a long-term Apple user since the iPhone 3GS, I am well aware of how Apple operates. Despite the inconvenience, delay, and incorrect installation, I was still charged full price, when a price adjustment would have been appropriate--at minimum as compensation for the error and time lost. This is why I'm deducting two stars. I also made the technician aware of excessive heat generation after the screen installation, which is a serious concern. While the shop policy states that a 15-minute repair is not guaranteed, I had already waited far beyond that and should not have been charged again under these circumstances. To be fair, the technician remained calm and mindful, which is why this review stands at 2.5 stars rather than lower. I had also called 20-25 minutes in advance to let the shop know I was on my way, yet the correct display was not available in-store, causing an additional 49-minute delay. I documented this on video as well. I don't want to discredit you as a person, but the service itself reflects a lack of up-to-date technical understanding, which is concerning for a repair shop owner. Technology evolves constantly, and repair practices must evolve with it. We all learn every day--but staying current is essential in this line of work.

I rate this Court Street Branch of u BreakiFix "VBAS" for VERY BAD ATTITUDE and Service…read more So I dropped my phone and my screen cracked into such a rainbow of colors it made the Pride Flag look like an old black & white TV. I've been going to this uBiFix here since at least 2019 bc it's in my hood and they were always solid - but I guess new crew new attitude - ah how we long for the good old days. Anyways I've had shorter waits in Doctor Offices. The waiting area looked like a subway platform at rush hour - and by that I mean - a few lucky peeps had seats and the rest of us stood around waiting....and waiting... Anyways my tech Andrew informed me a new Apple Screen would be $250 or $300 I cant remember which now, but that an after market would be $200. So being that the phone is a couple of years old I went with the after market. They took it in, fixed it and I was out. Next day - even though it sat on my desk or in my pocket - another rainbow appeared. So I went back I showed it to Andrew and said, "Its covered under the warranty right? Its only one day" He said, "Well if it's not your fault" I showed him the spotless screen. I was like "Dude forget about no cracks or no scratches -there's not even a speck of dust on the screen." "Well lets see." He goes in and comes out after too long a time to tell me, "Yeah we're gonna do you a favor and fix it." "Do me a favor?" I'm thinking - because Techs are like car mechanics or Doctors - you can't express how you really feel if you're still gonna put your whatever in their hands. Lets get real - Business don't survive by doing favors. It was 2 days into warranty - and whether it was a defective screen or incompetence - that's why you're gonna do it. Anyways I was never given a reason why it failed. So I get it back fixed and a few days later, its in my shirt pocket, I'm standing leaning over my desk and my phone - that's in a sturdy case - falls about 2 feet onto my desk and like that old Rolling Stones song "SHE COMES IN COLORS EVERYWHERE - SHE'S LIKE A RAINBOW!" Needless to say I got my answer the hard way - if their aftermarket screen cracks from 2 foot fall to a desk - it's prolly not even defective but just cheap crap. I mean 2 screens fail that easy - time to source a new provider boys! I had no time to go back to their circus as I had to fly - besides slap me once shame on you, but slap me twice... Anyways when I got to Louisville Kentucky there was a shop on Bardstown Rd & Eastern Parkway - polite, friendly no attitude. Their aftermarket cost only $149.00 instead of $200 and they told me it would be ready in 30 min. I didnt even get to finish my coffee in the cafe across the street before I got a text it was done. MORAL OF THE STORY: If you can't get to Kentucky for a great deal, and you're happy with Bad Attitude, Product & Service - then the uBreakiFix on Court Street is the joint for you! ,

Do NOT do business here!…read more I thought coming here would spare me a trip to an official repair store but it didn't. Came in around noon on Thursday to repair a 1st Generation iPad mini and was told the repair wouldn't be done in an hour but until the next day. I accepted. The next day(Friday) I never got a call about it being ready. I went back Saturday around noon to be told it still wasn't repaired. When I asked for it back to go elsewhere, my iPad mini wasn't in the store to get it back. SOL. The red haired girl told me to come back later the evening when Jesse gets in.She then called me later that evening to let me know it was ready. Once I got there I explained nicely to the other worker Jesse how I was inconvenienced by two days for an hour repair. Jesse said he can only compensate me with an apology and that he was swamped with devices. He also stated that I should've stressed to the red haired girl why I needed the iPad ready by the following day. By then, I told him I am not paying him $80 for his issues but I'll pay him $60. He got upset picked up my money that I placed on the counter along with a phone and attempted to throw it at me. I asked him to please let me out of the store which he was hesitant about. For the terrible service and attempt to lock me in the store, I still paid them $70. Don't even come here if you're desperate. Spend your money elsewhere.
