The ambiance is amazing! Service sucks tho, took 40 minutes to get one drink and almost an hour for the fries. To be fair, it did look like only one girl was serving the whole floor, but it's a Saturday night why is no one else scheduled. Crazy. read more

I always seem to end up at this nightclub unexpectedly. I have ended up here after going to other bars in the area and I have also ended up here after going to the Lion King musical. Sometimes you just need to dance. I've been coming here off and on for about 4 years and I hope they never go away. There is no cover (As of the time period of this review). This is always a plus. The age demographic makeup is very interesting. I would say that 60% of the people appear to be in their 20's and the other portion of people are mainly 30s-40s. The space always seems to be tightly packed with people. Be prepared to be standing very close to other people. The DJ always seems to do a great job. I prefer true 70s era music, so I like the nights where they primarily play songs from this time period. I did go once where they seemed to be mainly playing remixes of more recent songs, and I didn't like that as much. Drink prices aren't outrageous for a nightclub in River North. I recall most cocktails being $15 or under. I did get a cocktail in a disco ball once and that was a little bit more. If are up for a good night of dancing on a beautiful floor, Disco is a great option to consider. read more

Amazing the doorman greeted us. The host sat us per my reserved table and Kai was a fantastic server. We are the chicken salad and chicken tenders, a couple specialty drinks for dinner. After dinner, we went upstairs to check out the second floor and had a drink. Onto to the third floor and Sami was our server and she was fantastic and we dance the night away ! The fourth floor and final floor is a beautiful garden area great place for photos. Actually the whole place is truly an awesome experience. I will definitely be back. A shout out to our nightlife manager Vishal, thanks again for the hospitality. We'll see you again. read more

My friends and I went to Celeste to see a DJ friend who was performing last night, but our first experience there was terrible. The place was extremely crowded, there was no air circulation, and it was impossible to move. At one point, I grabbed an ice cube from a bucket next to me because I was literally struggling to breathe. Then four security guards surrounded me, and one of them pushed me and started yelling at me, telling me to leave. It was humiliating and completely unnecessary. I even took a photo right after the incident to show how chaotic and disrespectful the situation was. No one deserves to be treated like that. I can't show their faces, but they are the same people who work at the front. Be very careful and don't waste your time at places like this. read more

First time visitor and stopped in to begin my birthday celebration with dinner. Overall, it was just ok. There are four-stories (Whiskey bar, Deco Supper Club, Disco, Garden) and each floor has a different vibe and music. Had dinner on the second floor, and the brussels sprouts were the only notable dish. The service was alright. We made reservations, we were sent upstairs to find another host but when we got there everyone seemed confused why we were trying to check in. It was just a little confusing and less formal than expected. Nothing bad, but wouldn't go out of my way to go back. read more

By far my favorite place to party or pop in for a drink. Every level has a different vibe. The rooftop is beautiful with plants and a cabana feel. There's a level with a speakeasy vibe and a disco floor level. The drinks are amazing and bartenders are always quick with service. The bathrooms stay clean even on a busy evening. Every time I decide to step out this is the first place I mention and first place I bring visitors. The DJs are top tier as well. read more

This review is based off my 1st floor experience. The drinks and overall music/vibe were solid--I'd give that a B+. Unfortunately, the service was extremely disappointing and significantly impacted our experience. Our server on the first floor, a woman with short dark poofy hair and an Eye of Horus tattoo on her lower right chest area, was unprofessional from the start. She placed glasses precariously on the edge of the table, and when we tried to help distribute them to our group, she abruptly told us not to touch them. Her tone and demeanor throughout the night were cold and dismissive, making us feel like a burden rather than valued guests. Despite our party of four being polite and low-maintenance, her attitude remained the same. When it came time to pay, we noticed a 15% gratuity had already been added--something she did not mention to us at any point, which felt sneaky, especially given the level of service provided. I hope management takes this seriously. A good atmosphere only goes so far--poor service will drive people away, no matter how good the drinks or music are. Please prioritize better training and staff accountability if you want to see returning customers. ALSO GURL YOU CHOSE THIS JOB! If you aren't happy get another job. read more

SUPER FUN multi-story bar! first floor is classy, low lighting, mix of rap and top 40 songs. No dancing or dancefloor; there's a couple of tables and booths. This was the least crowded floor, and we were able to be seated and order drinks quickly. People were wearing trendy and upscale clothing. Second story is disco music with an insane light up floor, but it's a little cramped. It was crowded and difficult to get a drink. Top floor is a gorgeous rooftop with lots of greenery; it's also a little cramped but beautiful and very fun. A few tables available and option for bottle service. read more

For some Late evening escapades - we ended up here. Twice. First time. 8 pm. Meeting. A friend. Easy to enter. No line. Drinks were great. Not cruised. DJ was setting up. And sorry started about 9:30. 3 floors with music. First floor offers food. But it's not big. Danced the night away. In a disco room but it got pretty crowded. Second night came there after a boat trip. Around 11:30 pm. Omg. The line wrapped around ti get in. But we got lucky. Got in pretty quick. However. The place was packed. Like sardines. Great music nice crowd. But we left as you literally cannot move. So get there early. To get a nice corner for your group. I don't think they offer table services. Bartender in disco room was amazing. read more

I WANT to give this place a 5 star review. The disco floor is awesome and the vibes are good. However - I got to Celeste with friends early in the night. When we migrated from the top floor to the disco floor, left my cross-body bag with my prescription sunglasses behind. Later on there were bouncers blocking access to the top floor so I couldn't go up and look for it. I have tried many times to contact lost & found - calling, emailing, going through the reservation thing on the website - and have had complete radio silence on every attempt. Not letting me look for the bag and also being completely unable to reach them has forced me to leave this review. If they are able to reply with even confirmation they can't find it, I'll come back and update this review. read more

3.25 stars One of the more fun nightlife spots in Chicago. The multi-floor setup feels like a choose your own adventure game. Also one of the rare city spots people will actually dance. Sadly the drinks are pricey (as expected at this point) but nothing special. Front door is actually nice and friendly unlike many of the other spots in the city. read more

Came for dinner. Multiple floors. Aesthetically pleasing. Ordered drinks, came out at different times? Thought that was weird. Limited menu options. Handful of veggie options. Waited in line for admission to this business. As about everywhere I go I was wearing my Baylor hat. The gentlemen that work the door were rude about my hat . Instead of saying we don't allow hats to be worn inside the building they made me get out of line because I was wearing my Baylor baseball hat. I get that is the purview of a business to have a dress code. I find outrageous I should be expected to remove my hat while in line to the club before I've even gone in. I feel that this policy the way that is enforced+ communicated is discriminatory. read more

My little sister got married last night downtown and a group of 20 of us left the venue and headed straight to Disco. The line was wrapped around the block. I spoke with Omar at the door and explained the situation. Within 5 mins he gave us the best table on the third floor with bottle service and a light up message congratulating them. All star MVP like performance by my guy Omar. Will always be back if he's working the door, so much fun. When the floor lights up I just pretend I'm playing Dance Dance Revolution, Thanks again Omar, you made the night! read more

My friends and I stopped by Celeste on Hubbard street to celebrate St. Paddy's. The best part about Celeste is that it has 3 floors playing 3 different types of music. Hence different vibes on each floor. My favorite is top floor where it has open rooftop and the best music. They usually play trans music. The whole vibe is quite breezy and moody. The floor below that is also quite interesting. It has a pretty trippy dance floor where it'll transport you to 80's kind of music. The drinks are decently priced but not very strong. We also had some food mostly small bites of burger and truffle fries on the lowest floor. Overall service was decent. Also, it's open pretty late on weekends until 4 AM. I will be back! read more

Really fun place for a night out! The 4 different floors is a really fun concept and the staff was awesome and really went above and beyond to make our time there enjoyable. We came a little early and started with drinks on the second floor which is an upscale sit-down cocktail bar vibe. Our waitress was SO sweet and attentive and the drinks were great. Then we moved up to the 3rd and 4th floors, which were more DJ/dancing vibe. The dance floor on the 3rd floor is awesome, and the DJ and atmosphere on the more upscale 4th floor were great. The manager, Nico, was a fantastic host and made us feel so welcome. The different atmospheres of the different floors made it feel like we went to three different locations without having to travel between them and pay multiple covers. On a Thursday night, out group spent 1700 on the rooftop. Around 1:30 AM, my boyfriend tried to get more alcohol for the group just in case. An old friend of mine was in town for the holidays last night. He brought his sisters with and the 4 of us tried to go to Celeste. I had never been. There was a short line, about 5 people. We got to the front of the line, asked the cover, and were told by some guy at the door (seemed to be the boss of the bouncer) that we wouldn't be allowed entry... BECAUSE WE ARE WHITE. We caused no problems and literally did nothing but wait in line. As I type this, this story doesn't even sound real. Very strenge situation. I am strongly considering legal action and would love to speak to the gentlman who told my friend's sisters that they weren't attractive enough to get in free and that we were all too white to even be allowed to enter. read more

This place sucks. We went there for dinner and clubbing. The food was terrible. Flat bread was not flat bread at all... As for clubbing, their service was so bad. Some of my friends arrived by 2:00am,and they were blocked at the gate. I cannot understand it. By that time, we've already ordered bottles. Without our friends, we could not drink it up, not half of it. And they forbade us from taking the remaining whisky. I think some of the staff has discrimination on Asians, which is disgusting. We paid, and we should not be treated like that. read more

Hip hip hooray disco is all the rage!!!! I absolutely LOVE this bar. It is one of my favorite clubs to go to in River North. If you're looking for a girls night, birthday outing, bachelorette this is your place. Four levels, a huge disco ball, two DJ's. One of the other things I like is that each time I'm there lines look heavy at the bar, you still get drinks quickly. Order the disco ball! Most places are not like that. Given the crowds there that's a huge compliment. Security is friendly, (big for me), vibes are right. Guys and gals there is a dress codes, and baseball caps are left in bucket at door. read more

I've been to Celeste before so I was excited to go, but they said only the first and fourth floor were open. That was really disappointing. The drinks were good. Atmosphere is super cute, every floor is a different vibe and we had fun hopping through them all. HOWEVER. 90% of the men here seemed to have come specifically to creep on women. We were being ogled the entire night and me and two of my friends were straight-up groped. I screamed at the guy who did it in front of a security guard and I still saw him later trying to hit on another friend of mine. I felt like a piece of meat here. Super uncomfortable for that reason. read more

The grilled cheese with bacon is one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've ever had. It's cheesy with thick cut bacon that is almost sausage-like. The wait staff is so friendly and helpful; you won't feel ignored like some bars. It's great that they serve food until 1:30a. There's different cultures and age ranges here. Each floor has a different vibe. The level you enter on (2nd floor) has speakeasy vibes: dark, mahogany, there was a DJ playing techno/house the night I was there. There's a coat check on first floor; only $5 to check two coats. The third floor is probably the best for lounging & having a conversation with the music at a reasonable volume. The fourth floor is dynamic. A color-changing floor and disco ball ceiling for the disco music. It's almost like its own mini club. This is the most energetic piece and the reason people come here. Each floor is narrow but beautifully decorated if you are a scene watcher like me. read more

I dined here tonight with a coworker friend, we were both in town for a conference. She had heard that it was good so we wanted to try it. We had a reservation for 6 PM but were running early, and arrived there at 5 PM when they were apparently opening. We were seated right away. We ended up splitting the tomato jam crostini, which was a little spicy but tasty, and we each got an order of the steak sliders. They were doing happy hour at the time and they had $8 drinks, too, which is a pretty good deal for Chicago. We basically only saw our waitress at the beginning and the end of the meal, there was another server who constantly refilled our water glasses, which was a plus, and also brought us our food; therefore, I hope they split tips. Ambience was nice and would've been great for a date night as well, as the lighting is low. One picky thing: I have stomach issues so a lot of the time I am in the bathroom for 10 minutes or more at a time, and they had a timer set up for the lights to go out after that. I absolutely hate when this happens because then I'm sitting there in the dark. So I'd recommend that they change the timer setting. Other than that, I would come back here again for a meal. read more

There's 3 levels to this bar. Each floor had a different vibe, different kind of dance music playing. Lots of standing around and chatting with friends. The first level (where u come in, is a sit down at booth or bar, dim lights, 2nd floor looked sorta techno disco? 3rd was sort of tropical..) Cute place tho! I liked the decor and the staff we encountered were nice. Drinks are a bit expensive. 2 whisky sours ended up being close to $80 I believe. I went on a Thursday night. Really busy, but had no long wait time for drinks and no cover the time I went (I think it was around 11pm) Ended up leaving after checking out the floors and finishing our drinks. I showed up in pants and a tank top - My friend (who's a girl) gave me her button up long sleeve so I could stay since they have a no tank top tule for men (?) .. I should've just gone somewhere else because I find this absurd given that women were in tube tops and tank tops all around... Later in the evening, as I had the shirt draped over my shoulders (arms not through the sleeves but arms and shoulders covered) - one of the security guards pulled it off of me and yelled at me for not having it "fully" on. Extremely poor service by the female bartenders on the night of 12/16. My husband was asking for a type of Casamigos( we are not usually tequila drinkers and don't know the different types) and she got annoyed with him and just retorted "learn how to order". Unnecessary attitude on a night when we are out to have fun. Didn't see her behaving that way with anyone else, seemed intentional. Granted, we were upset. She didn't even serve me drinks because she was annoyed with my significant other. In a client facing business, if you can't be patient, you are not doing your one job well. At all. I wish I could give less than one star. The people working here are homophobic and cruel. We were here for my friend's bachelorette party, which included a group of girls and a few gay boys. The security people judged our outfits, called us homophobic slurs and tried to revoke our sense of humanity with their horrid words. Just when I thought it could not get worse, a staff member spit on my friend and gave him the middle finger. We were very poised and very demure and did not deserve this treatment. I have never felt more threatened by an establishment. I am hopeful this place could be better in the future. read more

The perfect place for a pandemic wedding (with less than 25 people)! The venue was charming and elegant with lots of candles and plants. It was an afternoon affair. The ceremony and lunch took place upstairs, with the gorgeous glass ceiling partly opened to allow for fresh air. The acoustics were great. There was a cocktail hour on the first floor - everyone was very spaced out. The bartender was wonderful, very professional. The food was not amazing but probably just as good as most weddings. The portions were notably small. The servers seemed nervous and not very friendly but still did a good job. Everyone had a lovely time. I wish they had done just a few things differently, like pump sanitizer into every guests hands as they came in, and place more sanitizer stations throughout (especially upstairs and around the bar). Temperature checks have become commonplace at restaurants and I was surprised and disappointed that they did not do them here. It would have been nice if they had passed out alcohol wipes before the food or made them available at every table. Additionally, I would have thought plated instead of passed appetizers would have been a safer choice, and ensuring fresh air was also coming into the first floor during the cocktail hour should have been indispensable. These additional precautions would have gone a long way to making everyone feel at ease. Hopefully, what they did was enough. It would also have been nice if there had been a designated waiting area for the bride prior to the procession and if there had been a clear path to the "altar" for the wedding party. People seemed generally confused about where to go, and where to stop. The setup was a little challenging, trying to space out the couches but leave enough room in the front. I'm not sure how often they host weddings. It's possible that some of these decisions were left to the bride. Overall, Celeste is a beautiful venue for a memorable occasion with a small guest list. I would recommend it! read more

When looking for a venue to get married and have a celebration between two families and friends- my partner and I knew we wanted a place that matched what we love - music, nature & elegance. Celeste delivered on all the things we wanted for an intimate wedding of just under 60 guests. Kassandra helped us through the whole process of planning, setting our contract and helping with day of details and putting things together in the space. It was a bit difficult to get a hold of the management group farther out from our event, but as the day got closer it was much easier- as they are very busy throughout the summer months and leading up to it. Kassandra communicated with our wedding coordinate Amber with Events with Ambiance to make sure all things were set up and successful for the day of with our DJ, florals and other little details. When we arrived the day of our wedding, I was in tears at how beautiful it all looked after months of planning. The staff were so nice and helpful throughout the night & the service was on time and fast. The drinks did not stop flowing! All of our guests were raving about our "signature drink" and how tasty the hors d'oeuvres were during cocktail hour! The food was absolutely incredible and very filling- we choose the salmon, steak, cauliflower steak and bowtie pasta option for our guests. At dinner time, it was so magical to have the fresh open air on the garden floor with the summertime buzz of the city in the background. By the time the dancing rolled around after dinner and speeches- everyone was so happy. We completely shocked our family and guests by heading down to the disco floor for first dance, mother son, and father daughter dances. We opened up the disco floor and had a great time with all of our loved ones together for over an hour. We could not have asked for a better venue and location to host such a special night. And the beautiful thing is, we can come back to Celeste whenever we want a bit of nostalgia for our wedding night. Thank you again so much Celeste and the staff/team for helping us put on an amazing night of fun & dancing for our closest friends and family. We will remember this night for the rest of our lives & be back to celebrate with you many times throughout the years. Cheers! Photography by ohsolovelyphotography.
